My experience is limited and I hope not typical but I found them unresponsive to a situation that needed further inquiry.

The payout from insurance was almost &18,000. Deputy chose not to cite the offending driver even though she admitted fault. Crazy as it sounds, he had been one of a few deputies who was at my home just hours prior to the crash. There was a group of teenagers from Phoenix HS who crashed their car onto my property. One of them threw a pistol out of the car, and I was the one to find iit and lead the deputy to it. Maybe the deputy thought I made him look bad by doing better detective work than he did? He also called in about my legally concealed firearm after the crash which I placed in my console so as not to have on my body during interaction with him after I was rear ended. I had my permit in my wallet which he could have asked for. He also shut me down rudely when I asked him for the other driver's personal and insurance information. Something was off with this entire scenario. I contacted the driver who hit me through FB messenger numerous times to try and resolve a settlement out of court. I never received a reply. The deputy who attended the accident called me but never left a message. He followed up the call by showing up at my home early in the morning and insisting my husband who answered the door wake me up so he could repeatedly tell me not to contact the driver who hit me and that I could be charged with stalking if I didn't comply. The driver at any time could have requested I not contact her or the deputy could have left a message when he called me and requested the same.I'm a 4' 11" ,56 year old woman law abiding citizen. Until this encounter I've held much respect for law enforcement for many years. It did take a long time for the department to earn back my respect after they refused to enforce a restraining order against my ex husband who beat me. Now I look at them with suspicion and distrust again. Sheriff Sickler, if you happen to read this review, contact me. I'd like to have a one on one sit down conversation with you on my couch.
