Came craving some Viet food and due to the positive reviews. The offerings taste authentic, the pho broth tastes homemade. However, quantities are stingy. Everything from the pho noodle/soup quantity to the 3 tiny basil leaves I was given. The inside has no AC and is very stuffy so sitting outside is really the only option. But the servers are not constantly coming outside to check up on diners, only to deliver food.

This is a no frills, get your grub on, kind of place. I had a hankering for some pho and decided on Bun Bo Hue after seeing photos and reviews here. It was very satisfying sitting outside after the sunset enjoying a bowl of hot noodles. The dish brought all the flavour, with loads of tender meat and round noodles. The standard veggies accompanied the dish which made for a great casual meal. I would recommend coming here if you're tired of all the tourist traps and Swiss food. 19 CHF for their noodle soups and less for sandwiches or salads.

Rice omelette with shrimps and fish souce.

Food was good, the pho broth was also flavorful. Eat outside though as it gets really hot inside. Overall, we enjoyed our Vietnamese Dinner

I picked this place out of all the other food stalls because it looked affordable at under 10 CHF, and I wanted something warm to eat instead of a cold sandwich. They have a few flavors of savory pies, including a chicken pie, beef & guinness, and a few other flavors that I can't remember off the top of my head. The pies are warmed up for you in the microwave, so the crust is not super crispy and flaky, but it's still pretty decent nonetheless. I didn't find the filling to be really exciting though - it seemed like just shredded chicken that was slightly sweet which was a little odd. I wanted there to be vegetables or something else in there. I appreciated that it was warmed at least and it fit the bill for a meal under 10 CHF, and it was a decent lunch - not super filling but it was just barely enough food. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here to eat, but if you're in the area and want food, this is a decent option. They don't take credit cards under 10 CHF, so plan accordingly.

The chilli has a kick to it and there's also chicken, beef and veggie amongst a couple others. The crust is perfection and the filling is very flavorful. It's even great reheated at home!

There is a good selection of produce at decent prices but almost all the spinach is wilted and wet (compare to the spinach so beautiful and perky at Marinello), the garlic is awesomely priced but I can't find a decent cucumber and there is mold on the cauliflower. The tomatoes are great but I feel they are more flavorful because they're older/riper than those at Coop or Migros. There is a good selection of fruit displayed outside and inside the store but I couldn't find my favorite: berries! No strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries. Also no kiwis or cherries :( oh well, there is a halal butcher and an amazing selection of couscous and a mega sized yogurt, not surprising. I loved seeing the diversity of the clientele but unfortunately I can't do all my food shopping just here and I'm looking for a one-stop shop which I will reluctantly have to rely on the Sihlcity Coop to fulfill. Like Lianhua this place is sizeable and the shelves are chock full of products but most of them are not part of my regular grocery/ingredient list so maybe I'll need to switch up my palate and recipe staple. There is a wider selection of household goods that you may need like cleaning liquids and napkins, etc than Lian Hua down the street. I've posted pictures of the seafood selection so will have to compare the prices to those as Lian Hua. They actually take credit cards which is great and there was a plentiful supply of herbs which I love--mint, rosemary, oregano, parsley, cilantro, and so on.

So, when I was done doing my other errand, I popped in and was pleasantly surprised. I was immediately greeted warmly and asked if I needed any help. I told them that I'd just like to look around. The shop is split into the grocery side and the gift/decor side. I happened to be much more interested in the grocery side. It's small but it has a lot... a lot more than I'd found anywhere in Europe in the almost 9 years I've been here. Tomatillos (almost impossible to find in my searches)... fresh and canned, some good quality tequilas, hand/homemade goodies of all sorts. I bought some chips and tamales and I'm really looking forward to trying them. My wife is jealous that I got to go but she didn't... therefore, I know that we'll be back soon.
