Vietnamese food.... is there really much that's better? Not in my book. Mind you, it seems that there are a million variations.
This area is one of my favorite in the city. Thus, I've walked by here a few dozen times and thought that I should try it. Well, today was that day.
Atmospherically, it's kind of great.... austere enough to feel quite 'authentic' but with just the right amount of 'crazy' going on that it feels like the majority of the best Vietnamese restaurants I've ever frequented.
My wife and I ordered (at the owners recommendation) a couple variations of Bun... and some Summer Rolls (which, sadly, never made it to our table) and Vietnamese coffee. All were quite good but not perfect. The owner mentioned that our dishes were new on the menu and requested that we let her know how they were.
A couple of random observations:
The majority of the people in the restaurant were English speakers (something that happens a lot in Zurich).
The owner came by to ask us and everyone in the restaurant how everything was.
Aside from the missed Summer Rolls, the service was great, menu options were quite good and for Zurich, the prices were quite reasonable.
The decision is still out as to whether or not it's got a future as my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in the city or not. I suppose I'll just have to go back and try it again. read more
