My experience was perfect in that from the beginning I and others were easily set and scheduled for class. The classes were full of information but in a very relaxed class setting and small enough for total class involvement. Driving was also introduced with no pressure from the experienced team who brought us each step of the way to feel confidence in driving, shifting and maneuvers. The team easily identified our weak areas and focused on those areas to allow for a successful opportunity to pass the CDL test first try. Although the test takes some effort it is easily achieved when practicing the pre-inspection daily during your schooling. Understand that part as soon as possible and all the rest will fall into place and your confidence training will make you a success. From the director Jenn to her office assistants Kay Kay and Chase, they are the ones who will take care of your entry and welcome you to your new career. They are there to support you to the end. The awesome training team, Sarah, Dan, Jason and Terry will bring you the rest of the way and each are awesome and have a lot to offer and the patience to set you at ease. The entire team is fantastic with no pressure at all. The trucks are older but who cares, they worked perfectly for me and others and the range is just right to allow shifting practice, maneuvers and a safe space for the introduction to truck driving. After a certain time you and your trainer drive outside of the range and bring together all you have learned. Sage sets itself ahead of other truck driving schools in that you are driving one on one for your training and that 44 hours is a whole lot of training. If you are looking for a party campus you are not going to find alot here. That being said if you want to go to some parties you can seek them out if you want to. Though the school does have Christian values and I would say is a Christian school it does not try and force it on its students which I appreciate. If you want to seek the Christian religion you can if you don't most people will respect you and treat you the same. No chapel Is required, but there are various Christian events throughout the week. You do have to take one Bible class here if you want to graduate. The teaching is excellent though sometimes you get a bad professor or one that you just don't click with. But I feel like it is that way with most schools. The professors try to make themselves available to you. And genuinely want to help you. They are professors first and not just researchers which means they will actually teach. Never in my classes have I had a TA teach the whole class.Whitworth also has this thing called Jan term where you take 1 class over the month of January. This is a great way to get Gen Eds out of the way. Student life is good. Most RAs are not out to get you in trouble and actually want to have a relationship with you. The University adheres to the Big 3 (which are the main rules) no alcohol or drugs, no cohabitation, and no disturbing the peace. If you follow these rules you should be ok. And if you want to do theese things just do them off campus. The nicer resident halls are Oliver, Duvall, and Boppell. The other ones are older, but still have great communities. Really it is you who can make or break your experience. Finally the campus is most beautiful in early fall and late spring. (When school starts and when school ends) you will see people out and about in the loop, throwing a frisbee. In the winter it gets incredibly cold and snowy. If you don't like snow don' t go here. But the campus does turn into a nice winter wonderland from November to January. Overall this place has great academics and you get out what you put in. Also they tend to give great financial aid packages.

I am in the process of a career transition. Shifting from HR/Recruiting over to Accounting. In…read moremaking this change, I enrolled in the online Master of Professional Accounting program at EWU, which I just completed a couple of months ago. While the EWU campus is in Cheney, the Schools of Business & Accounting operate out of the Catalyst Building in Spokane, which is why I am reviewing the program in this listing. Upon acceptance to this program, an evaluation will be made to determine if you need to complete any prerequisites before starting the regular program. Since my major was not in Accounting, I ended up having to do 5 courses, which equated to about a half year as courses are 6 weeks long and there are two sessions each quarter. In total, it took a little over 2 years to complete all program requirements. There are no set times for each class, so courses are structured for you to go at your own pace and when you have time to complete the coursework. Classes typically had a discussion post due mid-week and homework was due on Sunday. There were also quizzes, exams and final projects for many of the classes that I took. If you can take one more class per session, you will graduate more quickly. However, I would not advise this if you are currently working, as the course load may be too much. Most of the professors are working in other positions during the day and some do not reside in Washington. There seems to be minimal staff at the university, aside from a student advisor. I thought the pace of the classes was manageable for a student new to this field and for someone already working in the field. Though I felt the coursework was primarily theoretical and more geared towards learning the content to pass the CPA exam. I would have liked to have received more of a practical education, where I applied the concepts as they are used in the workplace. The university is in the process of becoming a polytechnic university focused on hands-on learning, which hopefully will address this issue. From a career support perspective, I did not feel the university had sufficient resources. Career services are more geared towards on-campus students, than those online. You can book 1:1 meetings with the staff if you do need help though. I would like to see EWU work with the business community to find internships for their students. Currently, students are responsible for finding their own internships. I do understand EWU is meant to serve the Spokane area community. It would be difficult to find internships for students in other locations, like many of my fellow students were. But I would have considered moving to Spokane for a few months if I knew that I could complete an internship through the university. Overall, I thought the online MPA program was okay. I do think it is better for someone already in the field working and just looking to get the credits needed to take the CPA exam. But for someone needing more support and new to the field of study, I think additional resources are needed to improve the student experience.

The subject matter was a tad dry, as in Death Valley dry..however Ryan got us thru a long day. That evening I got a call from him reference paper work for the cert I needed. He walked me thru the procedure for logging my training and then he did it all for me..Thank you Ryan!!! This operation is good to go. From handguns to long rifles or shot guns you can go slow or go fast. They got it handled.

The worksheets she provides are thoughtful and really reinforce what she teaches, and you can genuinely tell she cares about her clients and wants them to succeed. What stands out most is how much more confident my husband feels now. He's not just memorizing steps he's actually understanding the material, and it's made such a difference. I would caution students against using Intellect Connect Tutoring. When working with Dom (the…read moreowner), his comments led me to believe that I needed him in order to succeed. He told me that I was naive, and that I "didn't know anything about anything when I first met him." He also called my professor dumb. When I said that I didn't think my professor was dumb, he insisted that he was. He also asked if my family was crazy, told me that I wasn't going to make it through chemistry if I didn't remember what he told me, said that the best that he could see me getting in chemistry was a D, told me that I could say goodbye to medical school if I failed chemistry, told me that I could become white washed if I didn't remember my culture, said that his students made "stupid mistakes on tests," and told me that my family member said I would be dumb if I didn't follow his advice. (Even though that didn't sound like something that my family member would say, and she later confirmed that it wasn't). He was also charging me $300/week, which seems like too much to me. I have since learned that I did not need him to succeed, and neither do you. I was able to pass the rest of my general chemistry courses and continue preparing for my medical school application while receiving kind and ethical approaches from the free tutoring services at my college. Even now, I don't remember everything that Dom told me about chemistry, and I am still just as capable as I was then. Students deserve to be treated with respect and encouragement. Due to the reports of others and myself, Dom is no longer able to have tutoring services at my university, and I feel that is for the emotional, academic, and financial safety of students. Additionally, my former organic chemistry professor informed my class to report messages from him if sent out to EWU students again. Now, the best that I feel I can do is warn others because I am genuinely concerned for students.
