It was determined that there were numerous items; gear rigging, gear doors too tight, rod end bearings needing replacement, nose gear down lock tension too low, a gouge in the sheet metal caused by a bolt in the nose gear. These items should have been caught and corrected during the annual inspection, but they were not. As a professional pilot with over 15,000 incident and accident free hours, I am appalled by the unprofessional and unsafe behavior of Hovey Aviation.

You walk in to this ultra modern lobby with really cool decor. They have a kitchen with snacks, ice cream, drinks, and a popcorn machine. The bathrooms are amazing. They have a lounge upstairs and a conference room. They even lent us a car while we were in town. There were only 2 of us in my testing room which made it quiet and easier to concentrate. Safety measures were also taken during covid which helped. After the test, I conveniently walked upstairs and they had the fingerprint testing available also. I will be back for future testing.

Cross country delivery…read more I just purchased my first plane, 2019 Piper Archer LX from MUNCIE Aviation being that I live in Huntington Beach CA that meant relocating the plane a few miles 1709 straight nautical miles, as you can imagine it ended up being over 2000 because of weather related deviations. I took this journey with Joel Mayo the young energetic CFI at MUNCIE Aviation because I as of yet I do not have my pilots license. I purchased the plane to force myself to take this serious and make it a priority. Joel was truly the perfect person for the job. He planned the entire trip out, was fun, had great energy and made quick decisive decisions when needed. Joel asked questions to get to know my goals and then spent the time needed to make it a fun learning journey. I couldn't have asked for a better CFI, I learned so much and just had one of the best trips ever, we ended up stopping in a few fun locations where Joel and I toured the city, found the best food spots and city night life which transformed this deliver into a vacation. At the end of the 4 day trip I felt like I made a new friend, that took the time to share his knowledge with me. I'd happily do the trip again just for fun with Joel. If you're looking to purchase a plane or just get training I'd highly recommend Joel Mayo he will leave you smiling ear to ear. None of them posess hands on industry knowledge, and it shows just by going through their job posts. Credential and license/s requirements which don't quite match the position/s posted. I also exchanged several emails with them asking to clarify and rectify these and other irregularities raising red flags. Each and every one of their replies corroborated my point. Word of advice to employers: Post and hire through your own HR dept. Work of advice to industry job seekers: Don't walk, run.
