Just walking down Mainstreet this morning (Saturday) and saw Phil's was open for walk-ins and my sister told me I needed a trim. Signed in and waited to be called back. Previously been there, walked in and was greeted and told what to expect for wait. This time when I went in there were only two barbers. I was unaware that there was a sign in. After waiting more than 40 minutes I learn that my wait time was in vain since I had not signed in. I left and walked across the street and got a haircut and was out in less than 20 minutes. I have been in the area since July 2017, full time since summer of 2019. I am just a simple haircut guy. My priorities are a reasonable haircut, at a reasonable price, at an agreed upon time. I tried getting my hair cut in Westcliffe with no luck getting in, drove to Salida on a Saturday only to not be able to find anyone open on a Saturday (huh?), and got a few haircuts in Pueblo and Canon City, finally landing at Phil's after a local recommended them. I can get a good haircut at a reasonable price at an agreed upon time. Add to that the fact that these guys run a really good business. It has character, they have developed a really good brand, they understand marketing and they know the difference between "customer service" and "customers serve us". To summarize, they are a business that is humble, hungry and smart. And you can get the latest sharp looking stylish cut if being current is your thing. Brandon also comes across as a good husband and a great father who also cares for his team. The world could use a LOT more families like his. read more

The shop is always busy and worth whatever wait time you are dealt with - there are even customers who travel many miles just to come to Phil's. The shop has a nice, open waiting area with TV and water as well as a candy machine. There are many magazines to choose from to sit back and read while you wait. The shop has a nice, lighted retail display to check out all of the products Phil's Barber Shop recommends. You can also buy swag to show off where you get your great hair cut or shave from! The prices are phenomenal - very reasonable for the service that you receive. The Barber Shop does not take appointments, it is by walk in only. The shop was just remodeled to accommodate the now three barbers! Brandon, the owner of the shop works hard to make sure things go well in his shop and that customers are extremely satisfied with the service they received. Listen for the radio ads on 104.5 and you may just hear Phil - the cutest 5 year old that the shop is named after. If you choose to have your child's hair cut there, the barbers will give you a coupon for the Cup and Cone Ice Cream Shop located in the same plaza as Phil's.
