The moment we walked into Legacy Barber Shop we were immediately greeted by Josh and he was able to squeeze us in for a haircut- ever since then my son has built a relationship with him and is now excited to get his hair cut whereas before he never wanted to and completely refused. Josh is excellent with children, makes them feel heard and seen and engages with them in a way that should be recognized as not everyone has that ability. He listened to what my son wanted and explained how he would be able to achieve his hair goal. I will never forget how my son's face lit up when he got the look he had been asking for. Ever since then my son has been posing for his pictures showing his cuts and it just makes me laugh and feel happy that he is happy . Josh has gained a loyal client with us.

During my last visit, I had mild congestion, and instead of behaving professionally, James made mocking comments and encouraged others to react as well. People were laughing and covering their mouths while he continued making inappropriate remarks. He is not a medical professional and clearly cannot distinguish between allergies and a common cold, yet felt comfortable humiliating a paying client. Additionally, while I understand that hair on the floor is normal in a barbershop, the level of cleanliness was unacceptable. There was hair everywhere, and it did not appear to be cleaned consistently. A shop like this should have a cleaning employee or at least rotate responsibility among staff to maintain basic hygiene. I felt disrespected and uncomfortable. This behavior and lack of cleanliness were unprofessional. I will not be returning

He recommended Rudy, who he mentioned was newer to the shop but very experienced, with great availability throughout the week. I decided to give it a shot, and I'm glad I did. The shop itself has a great vibe -- very modern and clean, but still offers old-school barbershop touches like hot towel and straight razor services. What really impressed me, though, was Rudy's attention to detail. He actually looked at my head shape and explained that leaving the back a little longer would help balance out my flat head. No barber had ever pointed that out or given me that kind of thoughtful advice before. On another visit, I mentioned I was thinking about growing the top out and slicking it back. Rudy explained that going a different direction would make my hair look fuller, then took the time to style it so we could actually see what looked best. Her response was a bit matter-of-fact -- not especially engaging -- but I appreciated having a clear number to plan around. Based on that, I gave my son $45 plus a 15% tip in cash to bring with him. When he went in, however, the haircut ended up being $50. Since he only had $52 with him, the tip ended up being much smaller than intended. I felt bad about that, because we always want to make sure the barber is tipped fairly -- and the cut itself was very well done. Overall, we were happy with the quality of the haircut and the skill of the barber. The only frustration was the difference between the quoted price and the in-person charge. A little more consistency and friendliness on the front end would make an already good experience truly excellent.
