Everything went smoothly, all charges for rental, locks, insurance, and other policies were explained clearly and communication was prompt and polite by email and phone. Only downside is that if you live in Bristol without a car the location is a bit far outside of the Bristol city center (almost an hour via bus+walking), that being said Admiral's yard also have removal services to recommend to help those without transport

I chose this company as competitive and had extras included in price, including free boxes; The email quote was worded to give impression of professional company prepared to make a move as stress-free as possible. I think it was cut and pasted from another company. First off Mr Little didn't arrive with boxes the weekend prior to the move, as arranged, so I missed 2 days of packing. I work 2 jobs so this was a major hitch. His excuse was that he had left his phone at another job and his son had dropped IPad down the loo! I should have cancelled there and then. But Monday he arrived with boxes and tape and had a quick look around and said they could do it in one move. I felt better and negotiated extras such as putting up curtain poles, as flats opposite looked into the children's bedrooms, and to assemble flat-packed new beds (£160 extra). He actually only did the 2 flat-packed new beds; one took 3 men over an hour as they did it wrong and had to start again, but that wasn't my fault. On the day of the move he turned up on time with 2 other men; I live on a busy street in the centre of Bristol and was moving not 5 minutes drive away to another busy street. I hovered around the lorry as my furniture was left on the pavement outside; Andy assured me not to worry, as someone would be on the van at all times so I went back inside to finish clearing up. Half hour after this I heard a woman shouting through my open door whether she could take a large mirror; other people were also outside looking at my stuff; there was no-one on the van and after the move I discovered 3 kitchen chairs and a bathroom wall cabinet was missing (at least that's what I have realised so far, as still nowhere near unpacked due to how they left me). The removal men did not seem at all bothered about people trying to take my stuff! Once the van was full they said they would meet me at the new house. I met them and they opened the van, again it was full view of a busy street and with a small garden in front of house, the van was further away from door than before. Therefore I wanted them to unload as quickly as possible to avoid anything being taken, so I told the men to put a lot in the large kitchen and they happily piled everything up from floor to ceiling leaving me with a tiny path to the kitchen sink. They took the heaviest furniture to the upper floors, but filled all the downstairs rooms with boxes and bags and did not offer to take them upstairs; they seemed quite happy to put them there and leave a women with 2 children to sort themselves out. We have lots of books and those boxes are just too heavy to move to the living room and bedrooms. They could have moved them up easily. They did not go back to the old house for the rest (it took me 4 trips in my tiny car), did not put up curtains and couldn't get out of the house fast enough once it got dark (I heard them saying they wanted to finish before dark). They basically took my money and ran. I did not want a confrontation in front of the children and I could tell they did not care one way or the other. Andy was paid £500 for the move which was only 5 minutes drive away. He basically did the bare minimum, despite being paid extra. I sat on the stairs in dismay and sarcastically said Thanks, I'll recommend you, but they hardly gave a nod back as they left. The only successful thing Andy removed was my faith in removal men. No pride in his work at all. He should be ashamed of himself. I texted him to say so - needless to say I received no reply. Update: Just received an email response disputing some of what I say. Of course they would do so. I could respond to each of the comments he made but there is no point and frankly I want to put it behind me. Despite what his response says, If he had offered anything I would have accepted. My furniture was taken, as was left outside with some stuff I didn't want to take, rather than put straight on van. They didn't do all agreed extras on the day, and I certainly am not paying anyone recommended by them to put up shelves once new house was sorted, as previously intending to do. I stand by my review.

(1 Star) A Genuine Hazard - Avoid This Place At All Costs!…read more I feel compelled to write this review to warn others. Under no circumstances should you rent a unit at Safestore Filton. This is, without a doubt, the worst storage facility I have ever encountered, and I would actively recommend you go anywhere else. From the moment you arrive, the problems are obvious. The main front doors are constantly left open, which is a huge security red flag. What are we paying for if the building isn't even secure? The absolute farce begins when you have a delivery or need to move anything sizable. In a move of sheer incompetence, they have replaced the automatic doors at the rear with heavy, manual doors. These are an absolute pain to open, especially if your hands are full. It's a deliberate and ridiculous inconvenience that makes accessing your own belongings a struggle. Once you finally battle your way inside, prepare for an assault on your senses. The toilets are absolutely disgusting and constantly stink, which tells you everything you need to know about the management's attention to basic hygiene and maintenance. And it gets worse. The units themselves are downright dangerous. I found multiple long screws and nails protruding from the walls inside my unit, creating a serious snag and injury hazard. When I raised this with the management, they were completely uninterested. Speaking of which, the management are terrible - unhelpful, dismissive, and clearly do not care about customer safety or satisfaction. Finally, a word of warning: don't be fooled by the plug sockets in the units. They are all deliberately switched off at the source and are completely unusable. They are just for show, another example of the facade over functionality here. Save yourself the immense frustration and risk. There are plenty of modern, secure, and professionally run storage facilities a very short drive away. Pay a little more elsewhere for actual security, safety, and peace of mind. Stay far, far away from Safestore Filton.

Safestore specialise in self storage and you can store (almost) anything there- household or business items. As you enter the facility you are given a huge welcome and made to feel comfortable. It seems a very secure unit as I suppose you would expect, you sign in and out and there are security cameras checking everything. The units themselves are charged by the size. The members of staff are really helpful and give lots of guidance about sizing and measuring - its hard to imagine how much space your junk (prized possessions) take up. They also have lots of useful things for sale - some lovely strong storage boxes, padding etc which I guess you would expect, you may not expect it to be so reasonably priced.

It's obviously very important to recycle but what of the odd bits and bobs that the door collectors won't take for whatever reason? Well, this place takes EVERYTHING. As well as the obvious things like paper, glass and metal, you can also clear out the stuff that's always left in the bottom of your box, like plastic and cardboard. Going beyond that, they also, off the top of my head, take batteries, clothes, electrical appliances. There's even a special section for TVs and a gardening area where you can dump all the overgrown waste from your garden. A great way to unclutter your house and help the envorinment, all in one. NOTE: IT SHUTS AT 4.15PM IN WINTER, 6.45PM IN SUMMER.

So organised and staffed by what most be the most tolerant very large men in the city, you drive through and can throw all sorts of stuff over the precipice into their correct sections. If you want to get rid of it, chances are that they have a section for it. If in doubt, just ask any of the men and they will help rather than blindly going for the 'general' section. It does get very busy on bank holiday weekends and sunny Sundays but even with a queue out to Barrow Road you won't have to wait too long because of said organisation.
