I had an appointment scheduled for my son months in advance. I did this so we could work around his school schedule and my work schedule. I had the appointment card written by their receptionist at the time of making the appointment that said "November 27 at 9:30". I arrived early. They said they didn't have my son on the schedule and couldn't get us in. I explained that we traveled a distance for this appointment and it is a waste of time and money for their mistake. Both the receptionist and business manager were the rudest people ever. I told then that we won't reschedule and will go elsewhere. (After being a client of 10 years) Then after i leave and tell them I'm going elsewhere they call to harass me about the appointment they failed to follow through with today. read more

This review is based on my last visit. I am older and have a number of serious eye problems one of which Dr. Phillips diagnosed. I have been double vision 5 times, have a Trigeminal nerve injury in my face and also a brain tumor. Dr. Phillips diagnosed me with Blepharitis & dry eyes. We also showed him a picture of my face red & swollen with Rosacea. All 3 of these symptoms point to a eye mite problem. I had purchased a product to try to treat this and under home magnification I saw that I had them! At my appointment Dr. Phillips told me to stop the treatment I was using, he saw NO evidence of mites. He did not do a standard exam and look at my lashes under magnification. His parting words were "If you need anything I'm here for you." Later that day my husband took a sample in for the doctor to magnify. His last words to my husband were "tell your wife I will call her this evening!" Days have passed and no call. I finally went to another doctor who not only wants me to continue with topical treatment he also gave me an oral medication which must be used when an infestation is severe. I got no help and no care and not even the call for this very upsetting problem and for this reason I am writing a true review. read more

I really liked this place. The staff was really friendly, the doctor I saw was fantastic and personable. And the staff will help you pick out your frames if you'd like. This was the first eye place I've been to that I felt like they weren't trying to sell me a bunch of extra stuff that I didn't need. They take VSP (not sure what other insurance) and offer a nice special/discount for VSP folks. read more

Absolutely the best service I have ever received from true eye care professionals. Every time I go in here I feel welcomed and valued. As an example of their great customer service: While traveling, I lost a nose pad to my prescription Oakley glasses. Every place I went claimed I would have to order the pads or they could sell me a close replacement. Once I returned home, I brought the glasses back to Phillips. They fixed it on the spot and free of charge. I am a customer for life. read more

I love going here-he knows more about my disease and eye problems than the "best" specialists in Tucson. He works with my neurosurgeon and follows up on me. Really goes above and beyond!! The secretaries are nice and my son loves them they always give him candy too! read more

I really wish I could be in the crowd of this is the best place ever...but I can't. I do have a few things against this office. First, It took a month for me to receive my glasses after I was told it would be at max 10 days. 2nd, Every time I asked about order I received a different story as to why I didn't have them. 3rd, when I received my glasses I noticed that they were considerably weaker than my previous pair...that could be that the Dr. started from a false premise. I know he didn't consult with me about the change. 5th, I've had many eye exams but this was not very good. 6th, I can tell you I paid a premium... my appointment and glasses cost over $1,000.00. I will not be using them again, nor would I recommend them to a friend... read more

We moved from California to Sierra Vista a few days ago, and immediately before the move some floaters appeared in my wife's eye. As soon as we arrived, we made an examination appointment with Dr. Stephen Phillips. He discovered she had a small retinal tear, and he set up an appointment for laser surgery with Retinal Associates in Tucson for the very next morning. I also like the Doc who seems to be thorough and personable. But after your glasses are paid for and ordered you'll find that you are in for a rude awakening in getting the now finished glasses fitted and picked up. For this last pair of glasses (yes I was dumb enough to expect that last years experience would be different from this years experience) my first attempt to pick up my glasses resulted in me standing in the eye care office for over 5 minutes with no recognition of my existence at all from one employee on the telephone and one fitting a pair of glasses for a client. So somewhere between 5 and 10 minutes I walked out. On this (my last time) I walked in and waited for three or four minutes while the woman at the front desk was on the phone. Then after telling her I was there to pick up glasses she said it would be a few minutes. So I'm standing waiting while she is doing nothing, and the woman who fits glasses is working doing something on a computer. So finally I walked up and told the receptionist lady that I can't wait and if the glasses are available I'll just take them. And she tells me that she could fit them but the phone might ring. Really. I'm there in person but the phone is more important. Maybe you'll get better service if you don't pay for the glasses in full when you order them. I don't know as I won't be going back. So I now have a $1100 pair of glasses that I get to fit myself. And it's such a shame as the Doctor seems to be a good eye doctor and a nice guy. Maybe too nice given the staff's willingness to serve customers at their own convenience. read more
