It has been a while since I have utilized any services from this particular establishment. Nearly…read morea year ago I had decided to discontinue my patronage for some time. The reason for this, was a portly older gentleman whom worked the overnight shift. I had noticed an attitude from this man with customers, and he would even make snark remarks about other customers after they would leave. These remarks were even said straight to me and other customers to whom he would speak with. Not only is this unprofessional, but it's pathetic. Anytime I asked him a question about a product or asked for a price on something, he would display disdain towards me. As I said before, I decided not to come back to this particular establishment solely due to this man.
Recently, I had a 44oz cup that I had purchased from another gas station earlier that day. I wanted to get a refill due to a craving I was having for some fountain soda. I remembered Fast Lane, and decided to give them another try. I wanted to spend no more than a dollar, so i decided to give them a call to see how much a refill was. I called, the phone rang 2 minutes. I then preceded to call again and after 20 seconds, the same man that caused my discontinued patronage answered the phone and told me to hold, before I could even get a work in edge-wise. After a minute on hold, he then preceded to ask me "Fast Lane, how can i help you?" I replied, "I was wandering, how much is a refill for a 44oz fountain soda?" He then replied, "Wow... Really?! (Chuckles) One 'O' Six." I did not hear the last part of his reply, so i said to him, "I'm sorry, how much was it?". Then, louder and with more negative attitude, said "1... O... 6!" I said "Thank you." and without a response, he hung up the phone.
I am tired of receiving attitude from those of Fast Food, Convenience Stores, and/or Retail Outlets. I worked in Fast Food for a couple years, and in retail for 1 year. I have had drinks thrown at me, yelled at over slow service and/or quality of service, but I have never been hateful with a customer. There have been days where I had personal problems going on and I may have been less responsive to coworkers, but I would not show any disdain towards a customer, because it is my job to not do so. I will never return to this Fast Lane because of this man, and now after tonight, I will never go to another Fast Lane.... even if I am stranded out in the middle of nowhere and there is no other place to get gas within 100 miles.
