This review is specific to Carol Di Mundo, our Broker/Agent with Hawkins-Poe Real Estate Services…read more  We just closed on the sale of our home in Gig Harbor, WA on 1/13/2017.  She gets a definite 5 star rating for reasons described below.     Let me start by saying I was the last one interested in selling this house.  It was a personal fulfillment of a life long dream.  We chose the land.  We had a house designed for the property.  I personally built the house... all 5750 sqft.  I ultimately agreed to the sale as a concession to or in deference to my spouse inasmuch as she had decided she wanted out of Gig Harbor. As you may have gathered, this was raw and it is definitely personal!  My point is I was kind of a hostile customer to start with.  Keep that in mind as you read about my remarks about Carol.  We were originally represented by Coldwell Banker Bain by an agent/Broker I had worked with for 20 years and multiple transactions.  Our relationship and business were completely taken for granted.  It was my impression that we received nothing in terms of support or effort to get our house sold by them other than a 45 minute lecture (before I terminated the relationship) as to why their lack of a strategy and effort was the right solution.  So we switched to Carol.    Carol was amazing in so many ways.  She never stopped pouring her heart and energy into getting the property sold... and it took a long time.  She tolerated me and brought me along every step of the way.  She was always positive.  She was always thorough in her research and documentation.  She was relentless in creating new strategies and approaches to getting the word out and traffic in to see our place.  She held open houses and other events on an ongoing basis weekend after weekend.  She did targeted mailings to non-mainstream groups to market a concept. She got our home featured several times in periodicals getting it great visibility.  In short, she did everything humanly possible to get the visibility of our home as high as possible.  She was always open to new ideas.  She was always timely and prepared and NEVER, EVER gave up.   We went from almost 6000 sqft down to about 1000 sqft of living space. From a 6 car garage equivalent to a zero car garage (no garage).   Needless to say there was lots of furniture, artwork, appliances, tools and "history" to get rid of.  She was even a willing and capable resource in that regard.  I am sure I will edit this down over time, but the most important thing I liked about Carol was her humanity and grace in a very difficult transaction.  A consummate professional on all levels. A beautiful human being. I don't know how you beat that combination. Thanks Carol!

I can't recommend Bob enough whether you are selling or buying.

We bought our home with Robert Contreras as our realtor. I would recommend using Robert for a…read morenumber of reasons: 1.) Robert is very open about what he can and cannot do for you. Now mind you, he can do an awful lot for you and has a vast knowledge of all things real estate related. He makes the time you spend looking and buying a house very easy because he is clear about what to expect. There are things that he (or any realtor for that matter) cannot do and is not legally responsible or allowed to do. He won't wait for an issue to come up to say, "Yah, sorry, no can do." He will tell you ahead of time, "Hey, this might happen, and if this does happen we have several avenues we can take and I have a list of recommendations for people who can help you." This was greatly appreciated and made us feel looked out for. 2.) Speaking of recommendations, he has them. He has a lot of them. And he won't just hand you a list and let you randomly select one. He is genuinely interested in getting you a lender/loan officer who will work well with you and your expectations. He'll tell you, "This person will check up with you several times a day-- This person isn't that good with communications, but she's a numbers wizard and works miracles-- This person specializes with military/DoD-- Etc." He really goes above and beyond to make the experience comfortable and personalized for you. He doesn't want to just get the job done, and he never comes across rushed at all. 3.) He makes himself available to his clients. He was at our inspection, our sewer scope... he even came for moral support/cheer-leading when we signed our paperwork to close. The fact that he makes time for his clients while being involved in so much is really what you want in a realtor. When we were unsure of how our lease ending would line up with our closing date, Robert went out of his way to try and find us temporary housing. he even got us to close three days earlier than originally scheduled. 4.) Robert also gives you a good idea of what to expect with your house. He wants the paperwork to protect you, he wants your home to be in a reasonable condition. For example, when we received the inspection report, he asked us to read through it ourselves first and make a list of repairs we wanted the seller to make and then call him. When we called, he listened and then read the list he had made -- many of which included repairs we thought were too expensive to request. He then negotiated every single repair on our list and his own, including the expensive ones. Having bought a house once before with no drama/snags, I felt the bar was set fairly high this time around. But Robert Contreras absolutely surpassed that bar. Professional, funny, informative, and genuine, I would recommend him 100 times over. Not once during this process did either of us feel like we were unsure of what was happening or going to happen. He sets the standard for all realtors.

I drove around the area and came upon Carolyn's sign on another property and it said "Sale Pending" and I just had a hunch. I called Carolyn's number, she answered immediately, and we were off and running. Carolyn and Jensen came to the house and gave us their pitch, outlining everything they would do to step in and take the helm. Their approach to getting our home sold was everything the previous agent stated was "no longer needed in today's digital market." Flash forward 2 weeks and we had several strong offers, went into escrow with one but that buyer wanted us to come too far. Carolyn supported us as we decided to wait for a better fit and helped us strategize. I traveled to Sacramento for work and upon my return found myself having emergency surgery and stuck in the hospital for 6 days while my wife was negotiating a new offer. Carolyn communicated with my wife extensively and checked on me daily which meant so much to us and to me personally. Within a few weeks we had a strong and excited buyer lined up and the most impressive part of working with Carolyn was how she handled all of the last minute challenges that always come up during a sale.
