There's no other reason or nobody else to blame for this scenario. While I'm so thrilled that I graduated from Ateneo, that's not to discredit UA&P in any way. It just wasn't for me. I had some good times here. It's small and compact so much so that you can tour the entire campus in a matter of an hour or two. The cafeteria is decent and the classes are engaging enough. The highlight of my time here was being a part of the track team. Good choice if you're on the lookout for a smaller campus.

As a current student in this campus, I would say it definitely focuses on your grades and…read morewell-being as a student. It trains you to become a humble person. For teachers, I would say most of them are really hard working and truly care for their students. But of course, there are still professors who are always absent and let's you study on your own. It's alright, we're in college! As for the facilities, computer laboratory is working fine. There's a library where you can study quietly, or just a place where you can spend your time. There's also an auditorium where most of the events are held. It has it's own church, and wide field. My only concern about the facilities are the restrooms, canteens, and some student lounge. Since there's a lot of student in PUP, restrooms are definitely used a lot more often and there's only few janitors to clean them. So as expected, restrooms are very dirty and smelly. And since the rooms are open, those rooms who are beside the restrooms have to endure all the smell coming from it. Last but not the least, we shouldn't forget the house of mabini located inside of the campus. It was a good sight but unfortunately I haven't seen inside of it. I would love to see it before I graduate though.

The PUP Campus in Sta Mesa is actually one of the most gorgeous campuses in Metro Manila. As somebody who went to UP for college and kinda hung around Ateneo during that span of time, that's saying a lot. But it's true! Just look at my pics! The campus is freaking gorgeous. The fact that this beauty is lost even to its own students kinda rankles me, but what can you do? PUP is also the current location of the Mabini Shrine, which was the ancestral home of Apolinario Mabini. PUP is also the only campus that has its own PNR and Ferry stations. Lucky bastards.

In its campus in Makati, they have pre-school-gradeschool (K-12) and college. Depending on which gate you choose to enter, you'll see different things. You can't miss the chapel where Mass is celebrated every day at 6:30AM, the Serenity Garden or SG as the students call it where everyone hangs out. The cafeteria has a lot of food, but they don't change the menu. It's not that cheap so and you'll still see some college students bring food from their homes. The cafeteria is hot and sometimes college girls would rather walk in the heat for a few minutes to get to the malls as long as there's aircon. And, there are days when the cafeteria has a funny smell. Gross. Because it isa school for girls, the bathrooms are for girls. The ones for boys are hidden away in some obscure place. Good luck trying to find them. (Fine. They have one next to the chapel.) Really, they need more rooms to make into classrooms, new aircons to keep the rooms cool, more lockers that are bigger, and better equipment. Equipment? Yes, for their two studios for the Communication Department. And please, add more books in the library. You have no idea how frustrating it is to do a thesis and find out the library has no books you can use. Let's see what happens though. Right now, Assumption is building a new building on the college side of the campus and another one which the guard says is a multi level parking is going up near the grade school. The school will be doing the full shift to K-12 this school year which means opening in late July. They have lots of time to improve.

This is where I studied Bachelor of Science in Nursing and had the greatest years of my life. I learned everything that I know today about nursing, from the best and qualified professors and instructors that I know. This school offers excellent education; skills training and foundation that you need to get be a Registered Nurse, may it be the Local Nursing Board exam or the more popular international exam-NLEX. I treasure everyday of my life here, I have met the coolest people and friends, assisted in major operations, cradled a newborn for the first time, hid behind classmates when the teacher is asking a question, worked late at night for case study submission the next day, went ghost hunting with my group mates, thanked by a patient for being "the best student nurse ever" , panicked for my thesis defense and made my parents and professors proud when I graduated. Nothing can express how I missed being a college student again, especially when your school is this awesome.

It is...none other than...*drum roll* BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN ASTRONOMY! Seriously, I would expect this major, let alone an entire department to open first in University of the Philippines (where the PAGASA observatory is--cool place beeteedubs, check it out), or Ateneo (where another observatory is) or a La Salle in the farthest reaches of the country just because they can afford it (man, me and my sibs' tuition fees probably totalled in the millions! And we're just three students!) But for it to open FIRST in a university one bus ride and jeepney away from me? Time really froze for a moment there. If there is a rewind time button, can I just try for this major, please? RTU has definitely upped Philippines' astronomy game by so much through producing graduates holding the degree from this new major. I am seriously excited for the generation who will be getting in this program. Who knows, maybe in a decade (or less), we will have a separate nationwide recognized agency focusing in aerospace technology and space exploration, like JAXA (Japan), ESA (Europe), ROSCOSMOS (Russia), and of course (more obviously) NASA! And Filipinos will not only dominate the white collar and blue collar industries in the world. They will also dominate the bluejumpsuit agencies as well! (See what I did there?) Now that we're in the subject of astronomy, did I mention that the University also offers post-graduates studies and a masteral degree of Astronomy too? I am just...holding out a squee here!

Now I wouldn't be able to tell you every single detail of my student life here, because that would be too long and baby's got to catch some sleep. Anyway, I took Consular and Diplomatic Affairs here and I have loved every waking moment of it--from the General Education courses to the major ones, to Model United Nations programs to the Model United Nations simulations, to the long breaks spent in the cafeteria, to the fact that I have slept countless times in the library (if you spent the whole night reading 50 pages, you will surely need to catch on some zzz anytime during the day). If you are looking to study here, the best courses to try are: 1. Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management 2. Consular and Diplomatic Affairs, of course 3. Fashion Design 4. Security is hella tight, understandably, but once you've gotten past the hi-tech turnstiles, inside it's a pretty humble affair. It's a lot of white paint and concrete, which can feel a little cold and sterile, but they manage to make it feel pretty airy and open, which is important since the smog of Taft Ave. lies just outside of it. They could probably do with a little more foliage though. I can't say much about them, but the facilities look excellent. Coming from a humbler university, one can just be thankful sometimes for working air conditioning and a clean, well-kept bathroom. That the floors don't all necessarily match between buildings is confusing but amusing at the same time. The cafeteria's ceiling is a little low, but I do appreciate that they promote self-bussing and have water fountains all over the place. Then again, the people here have so many options to eat outside anyway. I'm surprised that for a school with quite expensive education, the main campus itself is pretty simple and modest (the SDA is another story entirely though, and while I haven't been to it, I'm sure the CSB Hotel and SHRIM campus would be a little more glittery).

The professors are also good at their jobs. They have clean canteens and have a good choices of food. They also have a wide library which is a good landmark because it can be seen from the outside of the school. Well, sometimes if there's a huge wave of exams in just one week) of UP Manila. You'll see pollution, the chaotic Manila, the ambulant vendors, and the street children begging for alms. Basically, you'd see the reality of life compare to UP Diliman where you'd instantly find refuge because there are tons of trees and there aren't any vehicles around you. Beside UPM is the Supreme Court where you'll always see noise barrages and activists swarming around. Almost every day you'd see people fighting their own fight and it makes you ask the question what kind of fight you'd want to put up someday and how you're going to use your wits and skills to achieve something for yourself or for others.
