As a public government hospital, PGH has its perks and peeves. One of the perks is that they have lower fees when a patient is admitted to be confined, but the peeve is that the rooms are not at all great.
However, I am glad to report that PGH has renovated lots of rooms in the upper floors, and they already look good and a lot better! The renovated rooms are clean and comfy, definitely a level up from their previous and still-existing ones.
PGH offers service from well-trained doctors and nurses, and you'll be surely taken care of when admitted. The only thing though, is how confusing their hospital layout is. Also, it was quite annoying that plastic and styros are not allowed in the hospital (a great environmental support, but for first timers who don't know the rule, it surely is annoying), and they won't really allow you to enter even if you brought food for a patient, and even if you claim that it was your first time hearing about the rule. I guess the best thing to do is know the rules around the hospital to avoid the guards inspecting everything and disallowing you to enter. read more
