I like the great variety of music they have as well as the atmosphere of old turntables and memorabilia it offers. The Deets: I have visited the new Cary location of Hunky Dory a couple of times now. This location is a bit smaller than the ones in Durham and Raleigh, but still offers a good selection of vinyl records as well as a beer bar with draft beer choices. The eclectic collection of furniture, turntables, games, and memorabilia makes for a cool atmosphere. The atmosphere is further carried by the "Now Spinning" selections they play, as in my most recent visit when Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band (Stranger In Town album) was playing overhead. There are many types of vinyl records available to peruse from Tommy Dorsey and his orchestra working with Frank Sinatra on vocals, Jefferson Airplane, Madonna, Prince, Billie Eilish, Lizzo, H.E.R., and others. There's a lot of vinyl to look over. Staff were welcoming when entering the store but also hung back to let one have a chance to look over all they had on display. This Hunky Dory location offers a good place to take in some vinyl and enjoy some classic music in a cool but smaller space.
