I use this place often. I don't often take my kids with me. It is usually me and my husband who go. Today, I took my oldest daughter, who is biracial, and her biracial friend. They are 14. I also took my 9 year old daughter with me, who is white. Different dads. The older girls helped me wash our comforters and some stuffed animals. We had just put them in the dryers. They were quiet, respectful, wasn't bothering anything or anyone. The older, white man came out and started wiping down tables as I walked a basket out to my car, right outside the door. The door was propped open. This man(employee) walks up to my child and her friend, gets in her face, and says yall aren't welcome here. He accused them of being sexual. They aren't gay. They are standing in one spot together. Her friend was telling her something in her ear, being quiet. They were not doing anything or bothering anyone. They were seriously standing there waiting on the dryers to stop. So, I apptoa him and asked him what the problem was. He did not ask them to not touch. He did not ask them to be respectful. He did not approach me as I'm the adult with them. They were not being sexual at all. I had other ladies in there shaking their heads at him, knew he was in the wrong. He went out of his way to say hi my white child. I called him out on his bs and he shut the dryers off until I got my stuff out and left. I asked him to call the police. He refused. My child was NOT being rude, disrespectful, loud. They were quiet, not doing anything but standing there together. I asked the man... if I'm there with my husband and I "hug" my husband, would we have to leave? If they were "hugging", what is the harm in that? They aren't gay. They weren't doing anything sexual or disrespectful to anyone or anything. I stand on that with everything in me! I will file a formal complaint and I will file a civil complaint! read more
