If you are looking for a classic British inn / restaurant, look no further. We came here as it was conveniently located off the M4. It's quite a large facility, with indoor and outdoor seating. There were a few having drinks but mostly family gatherings as it was Sunday afternoon.
There is a good selection on the menu along with a daily specials board. They didn't have your traditional pub fare so it was refreshing to see other items on the menu. We went with the sliced beef and lamb mains, which came with Yorkshire pudding, potatoes, and three sides. In addition, we tried the truffle parmesan fries and popcorn cockles. Both were equally satisfying.
The portion sizes were huge, so you will not leave hungry. Food quality is great, tender pieces of meat, tasty sides, veggies and the pudding was delicious. The ambiance was definitely country inn meets classy British pub.
Service was a bit strange at first, as we were questioned about our booking and who seated us and when. Staff should have better communication with each other and not leave guests feeling challenged. Service is slow compared to dining in London, but otherwise we were happy with the meal. read more
