Authentic. Been coming to phantom for 20 years and can always count on professionalism, consistency, patience and quality.

I really love my tattoo and I wanted to love it even more until I got home and realized it was done upside down so please be careful of that and it's really too bad but there's no going back obviously,, so I guess I love my $800 upside down tattoo I did call the shop. I told him what happened. Haven't heard anything back and don't expect to thank you for my beautiful upside down tattoo. read more

As a "collector", I have quite a few tattoos on me from various artists from Reno to San Francisco, so I am pretty fickle about who I let put a needle on me. After looking at multiple portfolios in and around Centralia, I went to Phantom to look at artist, Sean's stuff. After I did and after a brief conversation about the artist who did the print on my shirt, I decided this was the guy to do my next idea, which was an 80s tattoo that showed the juxtaposition of the USA and Russia during the cold war: Heathcliff as Rocky Balboa and Papa Smurf as Ivan Drago of the backs of my arms. Yes it sounds ludicrous but people who know me know I am all about ludicrous. Plus I like having something only other 80s kids would understand. Sean didn't judge or opinion-ate on my idea, he simply whipped it up and in a couple weeks I came back in and had it done(with a long interlude between getting the Heathcliff part and the Papa Smurf part.) The thing I liked best was that the images he came up with looked better than the idea I had in my head, and that is always a plus and I never felt like I was getting ripped off. As for Sean himself, he is an interesting guy who has some great stories about contemporary tattoo history and the area in general itself, and a pretty good taste in music to boot so it's never a dull experience getting inked by him. Hope to again soon. read more

I wanted to get a tattoo to celebrate the win by Trump. This is a big deal to me and I wanted it done by someone that others respected and had great results from. I should also mention I am 70 and this was my first tattoo. After reading the good reviews about Sean at Phantom, I made the decision to have Sean create the design and then ink it for me. It turned out to be a quick and easy process and the result is great. Thanks Sean read more

As an older newlywed couple, we were looking for our first tattoos, something special that would link us together. I did a lot of research on couples tattoos and local reviews of shops and came across Sean at Phantom Tattoo. He listened patiently as we shared what elements were important to us and suggested a better design than we had. He did the design and was very accommodating to slight changes. We had back to back appointments and felt totally at ease. Having never done this before, we had no idea what to expect. Tattoos are expensive and permanent, so we are very pleased with Sean's work and what we got. Very much recommended! read more

If you are looking for a quality tattoo, from an honest, talented artist, Sean is a great person to go to at Phantom. The shop is very clean, full of traditional flash art on the walls. Sean is a great guy to get tattooed by. He helped fix a pin up girl for me on my back and far exceeded my expectations on how she turned out. Plus has done a large roses and birds piece on arm. I'm completely happy with both, and definitely the fastest healing time of any tattoos I've had!! Just don't go in there with no idea what you want. Have at least some idea, and he will help recreate your vision! Highly recommend read more

This is basically a "retro" review as I haven't had Sean tattoo me in a few years, but I have sent everyone who asks me about where to get ink to Sean. That being said Sean has done all of my ink except for 1 (when I was overseas). I wouldn't go to anyone else and I wouldn't send anyone to anyone else either. I am planning on getting some more work done in a month (or whenever Sean can get me in) and of course I will be going to Sean. There isn't even a second choice in my opinion. It's either this guy or nobody!! No matter what idea I have in my head, when Sean draws it up it is ALWAYS better than the idea I had!! read more

Sean, owner of Phantom Tattoo, is a masterful artist. I have several large tattoos, some of them partial covers of older tattoos, done by Sean. Tattoos by Sean also cost me airfare, as I live in California. The travel and additional expense are worth it. They are incredible works of art. I am asked frequently to show my tattoos, and asked where I had them done. I proudly refer all inquiries to Phantom Tattoo! You want the right tattoo, created the first time, or you want a masterful coverup that you'd be hard pressed to notice it's not a first work, do your research. Find an artist that suits your style. For my requirements, Sean @ Phantom Tattoo has been all that and more. read more

Got my first tattoo here in November of 2014. Been back every month since. I enjoy the artist and his adaptation of any picture I submit. Very knowledgable in his craft and friendly with people. I recommend Sean in a minute. I travel from North Seattle just to have him work on me. read more

Classic work by a classic tattooist. No garbage work done here. The man knows his way around the needle. Fair prices. If you're in that area, don't hesitate. read more

I don't write a lot of reviews but am compelled to do so after a great experience. I visited Sean on a Tuesday after being flaked out on by another local artist. I came in with some pictures and a very scatter brained thought process. After a miserable attempt to communicate what I had in my head, he far exceeded my expectations, and drew a beautiful representation of what I wanted. He was able to fit both me and my sister in on the following Friday and although I felt I was burdening him with such short notice, he was very relaxed and chill about everything. I have had a lot of work done elsewhere and this was by far the best experience I've had. Very humble dude with a great skill set. I look forward to working with him in the future and would absolutely recommend stopping in and chatting with him if you're wanting work done. read more

I have been tattooed all over the world: Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, San Francisco, New York, and Washington. I've seen Sean's tattoos and drawings over the past 25 plus years. If 10 was the category of the best tattoo artist, Sean would definitely be in it. He also does a phenomenal job at cover ups or bad tattoo repairs. You will not be disappointed. read more

This place is by far the best I've seen in our little town. They do awesome work. I've all but one tattoo done here. Shaun, Corey, and Bree all do great work. I've had one from each of them. Some might see their price, $110 an hour, as too high... And could easily go down the road and get one for $60 an hour. Well the old saying "you get what you pay for" is true. Pay $60 and have fading, blotchy work done. Pay $110 and have an awesome tattoo that will not need any touch up. I spent 5 hours in the chair twice here. And each time I was 100% happy with the product. If you are going to have something on your body FOREVER than you should make sure its done properly. These guys are the best. read more

Sean is a joke. If I could give less than a 1 star I would. I went in there 2 months ago with a idea for a half sleeve. We talked about some ideas about the tattoo and I have him a $100 depot for it. His first drawing that he came up with wasn't what I was looking for. After that he got a attitude. He kept belittling my ideas about the tattoo. Also at the same time giving me gilt trips about why it is taking so long to get a second drawing done. He does do good work, I will give him that. But in my opinion he is just a tracer not a real tattoo artist. If you are walking down tower street and want some flash art then I am sure he will do a good tattoo. But of you want something original then go else where. He will take your deposit then procrastinate and will try to make you feel bad because you don't like what he drew. Really wonder how a guy like this can have a tattoo shop this long with this kind of service. read more

Sean is an amazing tattoo artist. He did a pair of six shooters for me about 10 years ago now that are just as sharp and vivid as the first day they were done. He drew these himself, based on an idea I had- they are not from any flash on the wall. It took awhile for him to draw them up, and for me to get in to my appointment, but it was well worth the wait. If you are getting tattooed in the Twin City area- Sean is the only recommendation I will make, personally. read more

I went in with two ideas, Sean took my ideas and put a traditional touch to the designs. He listened to what I wanted, but also gave me suggestions as to placement. I left happy with two new pieces. I appreciated his professionalism and will definitely return to Phantom. read more
