Despite the dreary weather we felt welcomed upon arrival. Our server was friendly and responsive. For my drink, I ordered a Vermont beer staple, Switchback, which was one of the local drafts on tap. For my meal, I ordered the shroom burger which was both delicious and filling. My wife ordered the popular poutine appetizer for her meal. It was huge and tasty! I recommend the Tavern on the hill to anyone visiting Newport, VT!

We have lived in this area for awhile, and have been eyeing this rotisserie for awhile. It is very small, but always looks well-kept from the outside. Today we decided to try out the food, and thankfully were not disappointed. The interior is VERY tiny, but very clean and surprisingly inviting for such a petite establishment. The owner was behind the counter and extremely friendly, even before my husband (who is bilingual) told him in passing that this was our first time there. Hubby ordered the special of the day (the club sandwich) and I ordered a chicken breast. Both came with a nice-sized side order of fries, a container of their BBQ sauce, and a container of coleslaw. After visiting all the other popular chicken places (St-Hubert, Fusee, Scores, etc) where I swear they all use the same sauce base with less or more pepper per place, Vic's uses an entirely different sauce than I am used to, and I REALLY enjoyed the difference. More tomato-y with a kick, and went VERY well with both the chicken and the fries. They accept cash, Interac, Visa, and MasterCard, and deliver as well as have group specials.

We pick up and take away the crinkly fries and cheese curds smothered in gravy to enjoy at home. The regular poutine is delicious but the chicken poutine takes things up a notch. The chicken is a mix but seems to be primarily dark meat. There are multiple size options - all of which will come out bigger than you expect. The small is enough for a sitting and a half for me. I love the crinkle of the fries but wish they were a little crispier to withstand the gravy and curds. The gravy is the right consistency (not too thin or thick) but could use a little more flavor for my tastes.

We got our food right away and everything was hot. They were also SO NICE. Ambience is also very homey: they have a karaoke machine in the corner! (Very Filipino home type of vibes which is fun) Fried chicken is the star of the show here. It's perfectly juicy, crispy on the outside and the seasoning they use is making me salivate as I think of it right now. So good! The spaghetti was alright - I thought it would be like Filipino spaghetti but it's less like that. You can also get it with fries! It's super awesome because they also have buko pandan, and it is NOT TO MISS! Please order it - well worth it! Overall, I think this is one of my new favourite gems in Montreal. Super sweet staff, great food, homey vibes. What's not to love?!

I always have their Chili as it's one of the best I've tried. It tastes super fresh rich and flavourful. The chili is super thick and seasoned to perfection. I also get drinks here : They make delicious cocktails on the house when you play .. just have to tip the waitress. Service is incredible, the ladies are always coming around and make sure to get everything you order. They come often and very efficiently. The food come pretty quick too maybe 5-10 min and voila the food is at your table waiting to get in to your belly. Overall, pretty awesome menu , service and food is really great. No complaints whatsoever and totally recommend the rail.. if you go to the restaurant section, you'll have to pay for your food but if you play at the tables it's always freee yaaay for free food and drinks. There's some items on the menu that you can only order at the bigger stakes table that's not available at the minimum 1/2$ tables (poker terms) lol but it's pretty awesome overall
