Nice park with tennis courts. Baseball fields and a nice walking path by the river. Great for picnicking and fishing as well.

Here's something you don't hear often -- the drive to a park being part of the experience. Coming…read morein off Highway 41, the views leading into Lakeside Park already set the tone. The landscape opens up beautifully as you approach, and by the time you pull in, you're already in the right headspace for a great afternoon. Lakeside Park sits on the southern shore of Lake Winnebago, and the moment you step in, you understand why locals love it so much. Mindtrip The Lighthouse This was the highlight of our visit. The lighthouse is the city's signature attraction and most photographed structure in town -- built in 1933, with a flagstone base and a wooden staircase that winds up through the tower to a 40-foot observation deck. We walked all the way to the top and the views over the park and lake were stunning. It's free and open for self-guided tours from May through October 15, dawn to dusk. No excuses not to climb it. Fond du Lac Fond du Lac What's waiting for your next visit We only scratched the surface -- next time we're coming back to explore the full park. There's so much more: Vintage miniature train rides & antique carousel Petting zoo Multiple playgrounds including an all-access area Splash pad Volleyball, softball, picnic shelters Kayak/canoe rentals & full marina Flower gardens & color-changing fountain Paved walking paths along the lake Many features are completely free -- the lighthouse climb, petting zoo, and playgrounds -- making this one of the best bang-for-zero-bucks stops in Wisconsin. Mindtrip It's beautiful in scenery -- the trees, waterways, bridges, and the lighthouse overlooking Lake Winnebago all come together in a way that feels genuinely special. We'll be back to do the full loop around the park. Fond du Lac, you surprised us.

Rabbit Rock Park - Lots of routes to the top of rabbit rock

Rabbit Rock is a good-sized rock formation near Big Flats Wisconsin, and one of many in this area…read more The parking lot has had some work done recently, so it's much nicer than it was before. Not quite as impressive as Roche-A-Cri, but still a fun (and free!) stop.

What a great park right off Hwy 13. You could easily pass this while driving on Hwy 13 though. Look…read morefor the sign and small parking lot. It's definitely worth the stop. There's lot of little routes to the top; some a little more adventurous than others; depending on your courage and activity level. The jutting rocks form a rabbit at the top. Some others have decided to decorate the rocks with other art too. There were lots of kids venturing around the formation peeking in to the cracks and hearing their voices echo in the caverns. There's lot of trees lining the rock trails to help you maneuver around. The weather was great for a hike to the top. Watch for leaves and pine needles, as these make the trails a little slick. This would be a great lookout place for sunsets and a picnic. There are tables at the parking lot area. I didn't see any bathrooms though. I don't think you need a park pass to use this park either. This was a perfect way to spend an hour! But the wayside is NOT open year round it's closed during the winter months. From the top of the rock you can see for mile including view of Roche-A-Cri Mound in the state park. It's about 60 feet high to the top.
