To say that it was reasonable is an understatement - he came in at a third of the first bid that I received. Amazing. When the work began, Mr. Newcomb arrived with his crew - reviewed the project points and made the necessary introductions. From that point, the work moved quickly and ever so efficiently. They try to give you less light bulbs than your outlets hold (and then blame the painters for stealing them...their words, you can't make this stuff up). One set of friends did not get a board under their back door to support it, and mine is just plain wood rather that anything covered professionally. Another set had water moisture leak the rough the back doorway, which caused their hardwoods to buckle. Shugart refused ownership of that problem. They also said the extra earnest money I paid would come back at closing, but the bank and they worked together to take all of it...seriously, closing costs were what they predicted plus exactly the amount of extra design money I had to put down. Do not trust them.

If this were more up front this would be a better review, but because they pretend there is care in both with the price you pay, 2 1/2 stars is about right. Don't expect a unique house in your neighborhood, expect to pay between 160 to 195k for a cookie cutter house that looks like everyone else's in your neighborhood. If there are details you care about, don't expect anything special.

Then, holding me responsible for not getting that proper documentation and sending me notification of having to pay a bill that the insurance was supposed to have approved per all the text you sent me, which is the only reason I said OK. However, I'm still left in my predicament because my home is gutted, I'm still having to deal with the horrible insurance company. My choice of insurance companies is not anyone's fault but my own; however, I would rather have a place to live in a pot to pee in rather than me stuck homeless like I'm gonna be and I do fully blame this company for being in my situation. Thank God, I was able to stop their lawsuit since I was able to get WSOC TV channel 9's investigative reporter to help me in getting those funds for Paul Davis since their employees don't know how to get appropriate documentation prior to gutting someone's home, or at least my home! I will be getting my storage out of their control as soon as possible. Through this, I learned that they we're going to have me pay to have my storage returned to me, but didn't bother to let me know. It had already been paid for them to bring my storage to me or so it appears in the estimates I read through after educating myself extensively on this entire process. I really don't appreciate feeling as though things have not been provided to me in honesty and that is how I am left in complete understanding unfortunately!

Abraham Reyes was the project manager and was always timely, friendly and professional. His team was amazing, I really appreciated their workmanship, attention to detail, and that everything was left sparkling clean. Paul Davis worked seamlessly with our insurance company and we were so pleased with them that as mentioned above they completed a secondary job for us as well. They came out and checked the breaker and a few outlets...well I checked the outlets. We found an extension cord broken in the front yard. None of that is the issue. The issue on the billing, was they said they repaired a wire that they did not repair. So I'm not sure if I got charged a service fee or a repair fee that they didn't do.

Extremely Poor, Neglectful Work. I had a lighting fixture…read morefall out of the ceiling in my home, and I contracted Ogburn to come reinstall the fixture for me. When they got there they hard a very hard time reinstalling the fixture and ultimately decided the transform was blown. The entire time they were at my home (about 30 minutes) they were rushing through the work and you could tell they didn't really have any interest in the job. At one point the Technician took a call from the office and I heard him say in front of me that he was "trying to get out of this job as soon as he could". Once they had decided the transformer was blown they packed up and scooted off pretty much telling me to get another transform and reattach it myself and everything will be ok. So I head off and contact the manufacturer learning they don't make that particular transformer anymore and that I'd have to replace the entire fixture. Obviously this was unacceptable, so I found a new dead stock unit on eBay and pulled the transformer off of it. At this point I hired a different electrician to come and wire everything up for me, as I was very displeased with Ogburn's technicians and service. The second electrician wires in the new transformer and the fixture still doesn't light. He disassembles Ogburn's work and tells me that they had failed to reconnect the light to the canopy properly and that in fact nothing was wrong with the old transformer, the Ogburn technician was just careless. So at this point I've spent a great deal of my time and money replacing things that didn't need to be replaced because Ogburn's technician was in a rush. Now we get to billing, Ogburn sent me a bill for almost 100$ for the work they did, which was 2x as much as the second electrician charged. I called them to inform them that I didn't feel that the bill was justified since not only did they not do the work I contracted them for they lead to me incurring additional cost due to their negligence. I spoke with at least 3 different people at their office who kept telling me the person I needed to speak to wasn't them and that someone would contact me to resolve the issue. This never happened and they instead decided to send me another bill with past due charges. I again called to resolve the issue and they took my info and said someone would contact me but they never did. Eventually I just paid the bill and wrote the experience of as a lesson learned. TL:DR Ogburn does awful work and will lead to you incurring additional cost to redo their shoddy craftsmanship. They are unresponsive and disorganized at their main office as well. Avoid at all cost.

If you need a repair or installation of some kind, this gets you some results and communication with companies quickly. I bought a house in Rural Hall (north of Winston Salem) and it is not connected to city sewer and instead uses septic. Well since I was not made aware when the last time the septic tank was serviced and the average life is 3-5 years I thought it would be a good idea to get this done. I put in the request into the Project bidding and Yelp gave me four companies. Mountain View Septic came back with a response in less than five minutes and then another company in about ten minutes but wanted to talk about the job on the phone. After calling the other company and not hearing back from the other two I agreed to Mountain View's cost for the service. Christian gave me a good cost and had a 10% off on Yelp for first-time customers. We set up a time and I had to delay it due to a meeting I had scheduled. Christian was very flexible on the delay and showed up on time. After talking about the job for a few minutes Christian went about locating the septic tank and then once found, uncovered it and opened it up. According to Christian, the tanks were about 3/4 of the way full so I thought the timing of this service was great. I can imagine a nightmare of waking up in the middle of the night to backed-up toilets. The service was relatively quick and Christian was extremely informative about the septic tank and how it performs. I had no idea that much was involved in the process but he certainly did and it was good information to know about. If you need septic services I would highly recommend Mountain View Septic, although relatively new in the business, Christian was knowledgeable, friendly, flexible on the schedule, and reasonable on the costs.

Wow!!!! Talk about customer service!!! This company went above and beyond for me. To say I am a germa-phobe would be an understatement of the century, and the technician and manager took all precautions including taking off his shoes before entering my home. He answered all of my questions and both he and the manager provided me with the utmost reassurance that everything would be o.k. and about 2 hours after my initial call that I saw a little water coming out of the toilet, they were at my house. In 10 minutes or less they fixed the problem. The manger insisted that I call her AFTER the technician left to ensure that all needs were met. I did call her and told her that the technician went above and beyond for me. These guys were prompt, easy going just all around great people. Our water heater started leaking badly at 9:30 at night, We have 2 young children and a house full of water. The dispatcher walked me through turning the water off to the house, The service tech responded within 30 min after calling them. He came in with a shop vac and helped clean up the water, he also noticed a light bulb was out in my basement, went out to his truck and got a new one. He then gave us a set price to install a new water heater which he had on his truck as well! Cleaned up after himself, took the old water heater away and was done by 11:30pm!!! When I call a plumber at 9:30 at night I expect a guy thats half asleep in a t-shirt, These guys showed up uniformed and clean cut. Outstanding job PF Plumbing! PF Plumbing never disappoints. Ryan arrived in a mask and they ALWAYS cover their shoes with booties, - before coming into your home. They do a routine yearly service for me, - which I find is a great deal; small monthly fee and all my plumbing is checked once each year, and they flush the calcium deposits out of your hot water heater - included in that service! It gives peace of mind and everything is always working properly. If I have repair needs, I receive a discount due to the monthly fee paid for the yearly maintenance check. I live in Kinderton Village and PF Plumbing did the initial plumbing in my home. A nail fell into my disposal at some point of the building of my home and made a small hole in the disposal that was leaking under my sink so I called PF Plumbing to come out and replace it. Everyone at PF Plumbing that I have dealt with has been so helpful and kind. The service techs are good looking gentlemen that I feel comfortable letting into my home. I thought I had a leak in the under sink grey water pump and I was asking for a complete replacement. Roger found several connections loose and recommended for me to keep the pump. His honesty saved me hundreds of dollars of repair. He also fixed a leak in my basement ceiling where I had made a temporary repair over Christmas when the family was here. Within 20 minutes she was calling back saying there was an opening and a rep could be out within an hour. Tucker showed up and was absolutely amazing. He introduced himself with a handshake and immediately greeted our cat when he walked into the room to seeing what was going on. He diagnosed our issue within minutes and went straight to work! He chatted with me while he worked and was extremely personable. He took photos and videos both before and after the job and tested every aspect of the sink/disposal before he left. I was…read morevery clear on the phone when scheduling that I was looking for a quote of how much repair would cost. All that was wrong was that my trip lever drain needed replacing, and the men who arrived confirmed this. They asked to see the trip lever mechanism *I* had bought and attempted to install unsuccessfully, and then began to immediately work on installing the hardware I had purchased, BEFORE telling me it would cost over $200. So I was not given a quote for service, I was given an invoice. TO BE CLEAR, I do not blame the men who came to my home and did the fix. They were very respectful, prompt, and efficient, and they just work for the company; prices and policy decisions are not set by them. I'm also aware that their labor must be paid hourly, even if they just came and looked at the drain. I have no problem paying them for their time. What I do have a problem with is not being told the cost before repairs began, and being charged what absolutely accounts for more than the 1 hour of labor (including drive time) of two employees, and an unasked for installation of hardware I myself supplied. It felt dishonest about the intended services requested, and removed my opportunity to make a choice about whether to proceed; if I'd seen the number first, I would have paid the men for their time and then attempted again to install the trip lever by myself. Overall, I don't recommend this company for any simple fixes.
