They advertise for grooming cats but have clearly never done it. I've had long haired cats forever and getting a lion cut is a pretty normal part of that. I called ahead and made sure they actually do this cut and they said "yes no problem". When my husband arrived the groomer (who apparently is the manager) gave him grief about cutting it. He explained we've always given our cats lion cuts. Well, they cut the cats fur dry and clearly saw how uneven and terrible it was but did it anyway. They somehow managed to bathe brush and clip him in under an hour. My dogs who don't get a cut take longer. The pictures speak for themselves. This cut was done by the grooming manager. Terrible. Avoid. read more

I purchased a beef bone broth yesterday at this petsmart. I was about to feed my cat this broth when I glimpsed at the expiration date. This broth expired 6 months ago! I was shocked. I immediately called the store in hopes of them checking products more carefully but the lady I talked to was completely monotone and seemed to not care. I wouldn't complain if it was a few days but 6 months is just outrageous. Her name was Katherine if I'm not mistaken. read more

The good, have been here several times with several dogs and bath and nail trims no problem, always left a tip because ," no dog really loves a bath and nail trimming so I know the hassle they go through ", so I go to pickup Maggie from her 81.00 appointment and the lady informs me she couldn't finish nail trim and to take her to a vet to finish!???? I just look at her dumbfounded. Should of knew better as when I dropped her off the same lady couldn't figure out how to put in rabies update info, so I'm checking out and paying upfront, thinking what did I just pay for then. So I guess I'm looking for a real dog groomer. Oh well. read more

Price match guarantee is not true at the location! I try to use local box store instead of online purchases but when you can purchase the same product online for half the price is very hard to do! I will not be back to this location! Very sad to say that this is why all of the big box stores are closing. I'm sure they won't miss my little $250.00 a month purchases. read more

I have been having my dog groomed here for 4 years. The best people and grooming in the area. However the prices have gone up again and are just are too high now. My small dog is now $70. I hate leaving but it's just not in the budget. Too bad. Great people read more

Carrie very rude likes to talk down on people just because we wanted a gold fish that we had the right stuff for the goldfish and a big enough tank for the gold fish. She talked down on us because we were younger but 18. She's very rude will be contacting management she should be fired for her actions and words!!. read more

Today we brought our dogs, Daphne and Bisbee, for grooming. Our Husky Bisbee hates baths, but the team at the waynesboro grooming was top notch, professional, kind, pleasant and gave our dogs the best grooming! Little Daphne is only 1, and had her first ever grooming today. She looked amazing, like a show dog! Ten stars to the team today, Waynesboro Pet Smart was the best and did the nicest job with lots of patience and kindness. Thank you so much! Nancy Y. read more

I like Petsmart and all the products they have to offer. I like that they work with getting dogs and cats homes through local foster adoption organizations. Spay neuter inc is located there and is able to place kittens and cats into forever homes. Anita spends a lot of time as a volunteer doing this. And has placed many kitties into good loving homes. Also dogs are able to be shown there and people can meet and greet. Great place to adopt! Thanks Petsmart. read more

Check out Staff is friendly and I love pets stores like this where my babies can come in and shop with me. They love the treatment from the workers . Not 5 stars because like other large pet stores it's frustrating the lack of items not in stock or not carried at this location. 2 of my dogs have trachea issues one really bad. Online it was incredibly easy to find a product and then after searching the store with no avail I'll ask for help. It's annoying when they don't carry it but far worse when the employees have acted like I was an alien for asking for cough suppressant for a dog. Esp when online says your store carries it. I had a terminally ill kitten that couldn't take food and I was trying to supplement meals with high calorie liquid. I was surprised again by all I found online that they should carry just to have them act like they never heard of any of the products and online pictures I showed them. All on Christmas Eve they would do is recommend I go to Walmart and get chicken broth....most has onion powder and other things not the best for animals and also is very low calorie. You can get 800 different colors or patterns for harness and t shirts and beds, every kinda toy but they don't always carry the basics and being a chewy shopper a lot of the items are priced much much higher in the store here. I do like it a lot though for getting things I need they have in stock and being able to bring my doggies so I will keep shopping here occasionally read more

We have completed two classes with Nicki at Petsmart. She is very clear and to the point as to how to ask for certain behaviors from your dog. She also addresses your dog's specific needs and behaviors. We had a lot of fun and my Golden Retriever puppy enjoyed her Petsmart experience. read more

I put a three star because personally, PETSMART is amazing. Their staff, etc. However, they have a spay and neuter clinic linked to them. They are HIGHLY judgemental. We attempted to adopt 4 month old Rose, who caught my Husbands eye immediately and Rose stared at him through his soul... he was determined to get her. We already have two male 1 yr old cats, they're perfectly well behaved and have been around my 7 year old female cat. A woman we talked to, stares my husband down and says "have you lost your touch in reality?" And kept going on and on about cats in drains, etc. this is all because our cats aren't neutered. But keep in mind all three are VERY well behaved and want nothing but cuddles. They've never tried anything with my female cat. But she was highly rude, despite her being rude, we cut the conversation short as to not start and argument, and I told her have a nice evening. Her response was a sarcastic "okay." I'm also pregnant currently, and I feel like a new addition when the baby comes would be beautiful. But I don't recommend getting pets from them. They also talked about "cats get put into small cages" etc, proceeding to stuff rose into a small cage. SMH... disappointing. All this talk about protecting them and she sure seemed hell bent on not getting the cat a home. Sigh... and I know we would've loved her to death too. read more

I took 2 beautiful Briards for grooming and discussed how they should be groomed. 1 1/2-2" coats. They did have some mats but they could be cut out. THEY SHAVED THE DOGS DOWN TO 1/2' OR LESS AND EVEN COMPLETELY SHAVED THE FACE OF THE FEMALE. She now looks like a standard poodle. Both dogs are cold and shaking. I can hardly believe my eyes each time I look at the dogs. I am astonished by what they did. I wish I had never entered through their doors and I will never go to their store again for anything. Their only excuse is that the dogs did not like it. They said bring them back and they would fix it?? How did they think they could put the coats back on? What a terrible experience! I am sick over it! read more

NEVER SHOP AT PETSMART!!!! On Thursday evening about 5pm on December 29 2016 we went to this PetSmart location and bought a few fish some décor for our tank and a dog harness. This part of our experience was fine. However one of the fish died within 2 hours after getting them home. We were not upset over this because we know it sometimes happens. So we put the little guy in a baggie and brought him back to the store the next day at about 5:30 pm (December 30 2016). We also brought the receipt. We found Cheryl and asked for help in exchanging the fish. She started to give us the third degree about out set up. She was super condescending and when my husband told her he had been keeping fish since the mid 90s she continued to treat him like he was an idiot. So my husband asked her if she was going to exchange the fish as to the stores policy and she said "no" she was going to give us a refund but then continued to blame us for the fish dying. At this point I had had enough of her crap and asked to talk to a manager. Cheryl refused. So I want and found the Manager myself. The manager's attitude was not much better. The manager accused me of screaming at her. I was not screaming. My voice was raised yes but I had every right to be upset after the way Cheryl treated us. The manager refused to listen to the issue. The manager did give us the refund but never apologized for the poor experience. I asked the manager for the phone number to where I could file a complaint. Instead of giving it to me she said "well it's all going to come back to me any way". At this point had enough of her crap. I said fine and that I would find the number online and that PetSmart would NEVER get another penny out of us. I did not get the managers name at this time because her name tag was covered. When I got home I called the PetSmart customer service number listed on their website. I talked with Bill who was amazing. He took my contact info and made notes about what happened and let me know it would be taken care of. At this point I thought it was all over. But nope. At 7:08pm The store manager calls my cell phone. She did not identify herself as the store manager I had issue with. I only knew she was from PetSmart because of caller ID. She made me believe she was someone higher up. But her line of questioning was odd so I asked her her name she said "Gabby I'm the one you talked to at the store" at this point I am beyond pissed. Why was she calling me? Where did she get my number? She continued to blame me for her employee's being rude at this point I flipped out and told her to "stick it up your butt and that PetSmart is never getting any more of my f**king money" and hung up on her. I then called the customer service number back and talked to Bill again. He did not know how Gabby got my number and especially so quickly. Whose idea was it to have one of the people I have issue with to call me? Gabby's actions are borderline harassment. I will never do any business with PetSmart and will let everyone I know with pets to go to PetCo instead! We would rather buy fish at WalMart then to ever step foot in a PetSmart again! I have since found out that the manager lied about her name. They have some real trust worthy employees. read more

I have taken my dog here several times for a nail trim. Today the grooming manager informed me they couldn't cut his nails today or ever again because he was too "stressed". I took my dog to his vet and the vet said he was fine. If the grooming manager is afraid if dogs, maybe she needs to fine a new line of work. read more

When it comes to the fish department, it needs to be better. Quite a few times I have gone to the store and they were either out of stock of something they normally carry, or just had only one of its kind when I needed two. I find it easier just to order aquarium parts and supplies online instead of having to take multiple trips to this store. Also, they say their live aquarium plants are snail-free, I can 100% verify that this is false. I have bought plants from this location for brand new, never been used before, aquariums and equipment and had snails start to appear. Once you get a snail infestation it is impossible to get rid of them without breaking down your whole aquarium setup, throwing away your gravel and substrate, sanitizing everything else, and starting all over. Other than that, you are stuck with the snails and can only do your best to manage the infestation with fish like loaches or assassin snails who like to eat them, but the snails will always be present. Even though they gave me assurances that their plants are snail-free, a close look at the substrate in their planted tank shows dead snail shells on occasion meaning they have had issues with snails. Stick with buying the plants that come sealed in containers that you buy off the store shelf and not out of their aquarium water. Also, I had two fish I bought from this location die and something that resembled worms come out of their bodies. There was nothing in my aquarium that would cause worms unless they were already in the fish I bought from this location. I talked to a fish department employee at this Petsmart location who said their system has major problems. The employee said that a major part to their system broke years ago and the contractor who built the store system had gone out of business. The store itself has not had enough money to fix the problem because it would be super expensive to fix, nor is corporate Petsmart helping them get the problem fixed. The same employee also told me that changing the UV lights to sterilize the system water often go neglected for very long periods of times... well after the lights have burned out which means the whole system is prone to fish diseases. My advice is to make sure you quarantine and treat the fish you get from this store just to be safe. Also, make sure you do not put the water in the bag your fish come in into your aquarium. Lastly, as I said about the live aquarium plants, just stick to the ones that are in packages on the shelf instead of the ones that an employee has to pull out of their display tank and put in a bag. read more
