My dog loves it here. Its not the fanciest or biggest place, but it's a nice, family-run business,…read moreand they love my dog. She trained here as a puppy and goes to daycare (or "school") a few times a week. I've boarded her here a couple times, too. I tried one of the newer places a couple times to see if my girl would like the pool or bigger yard...nope. She wants to come here and see Meredith and Kaley and all her doggo friends she's known since she was a pup. What a relief to have somewhere reliable, with people who care about you and your dog.

My new puppy, Shiner, was not interested in being the ideal dog. She was full of energy and had difficulty in paying attention. I tried everything I could possibly think of to help motivate her into a functioning member of my household. I spent 10 minutes on the phone with Meridith Caver of The Polished Pooch and knew she would be able to help. Meridith Caver is amazing. After the first session, Shiner was able to sit. Meridith is great at explaining what Shiner worked on during the day and what we should do at home to help further her training. We have learned how to make Shiner a part of the family, not the master of the house. We still have work to do, and we know Meridith will be there to help us alone the way. Shiner is a different dog since she started puppy school with Meridith. In the mornings when Shiner has puppy school/day camp, she is excited and knows where she is going. When she sees Meridith and Debra, she gets so excited to go and play. I feel very comfortable allowing my Shiner to go to puppy school/day camp w/ The Polished Pooch. The staff cares about your baby, just like you do!

Drew is fantastic! He just finished training my 2nd dog to put through his program and he did a…read moregreat job! Turned a puppy who pulled on a lease, jumped all over everyone, and wouldn't come when called into one that listens and doesn't jump on toddlers in the house. Would definitely recommend and put a lot of trust into his program and results!

Since working with Drew, our two dogs are completely different…read more Ziggy is a 7-year-old 100-pound mutt, who still acts like a puppy. Because of his size, and how excited he could get, he was really hard to walk, and whenever he saw another dog, he would pull my arm off. My wife refused to walk him, and I rarely did. Over the years, we tried many things (classes, special collars, other dog trainers), but just gave up, figuring you can't teach an old dog new tricks. Hank is a 2 year old Brittany who we rescued as a 1-year old. He never learned basic obedience, and it became very frustrating to try to communicate what we wanted. Enter Drew. We enrolled both dogs in the In Home - Off Leash Training. Drew came pretty much every day to our house for about an hour or two while we were at work for "as long as it takes", which ended up being about 5 weeks. He was very flexible, and worked around our schedule. After the 5 week in home training, Drew showed us how to do everything, and for the next several weeks, our dogs learned how to trust us to train them. Now both dogs walk perfectly behind me without pulling on walks. If they see another dog, they just keep walking, and don't pull or jump or bark (this one still amazes... if you could have seen them before!). I even feel comfortable enough to take both dogs at the same time! At the park, they will come when called. They can sit and stay, and be patient. It's kind of incredible to have such well behaved dogs! Sure, the training is expensive, but it really works. In my opinion it's worth every penny, because we have happier dogs, and way less stress.
