Yes, I know it is only for animals, but all my experiences there with our beloved dog have been everything you wish for from a healthcare provider and more. Often, when we humans go to the doctor, we are greeted with a crowded waiting room, a bored receptionist, a long wait, a busy nurse and finally, a doctor who has many other patients to see as well. Not at Crossroads. From the receptionists to the vet techs to the highly skilled and compassionate veterinarians, every aspect of our experience has been constantly top notch. First, with the Covid crisis, if you wish, you may remain in your car and a vet tech will come outside to talk with you and take your pet inside. If you do go in or call, the receptionists are unfailingly polite, friendly and helpful. If you call in with a question about your pet's treatment, the receptionist either answers it or finds out quickly from a vet or a vet tech. The techs there have all been a huge help to our dog. One young man, Hayden, even let us bring our dog in one day so he could give her the pill we could not get her to swallow! If you do go in with your pet, you are quickly escorted to a room where you find a whiteboard with "Welcome (your pet's name) on it. The vet comes in quickly and spends as much time as needed with you and your pet. Through the 11 years of my dog's life, we have seen every vet there at least once and have been impressed each one. But I'd like to single out Drs. Kelsey Hanson, Lachlan McQueen and Whitney Rayner because they have truly saved my dog's life at least twice, each time with skill, knowledge and compassion. On our most experience, our Lab helped herself to a rack of ribs, bones and all, on a late Friday afternoon. After x-raying her stomach, Drs. Hanson, McQueen and Mills advised us that the best option would be surgery to remove the sharp bone fragments that could easily perforate her intestines. After patiently talking us through the options and answering our many questions, all three vets then spent most of their Friday night doing the surgery. Once our dog came home that weekend, she would not eat and would barely move. Dr. Hanson met us on a Sunday at the clinic and immediately began caring for her. The next morning, she quickly caught an infection that was setting in early and she went to work doing a second surgery to flush it out. Her treatment was a success! As I write this, our Lab is healthy and happy. I owe that to the staff of Crossroads. Now if I could just make that next appointment for myself!
