They won't let me make an appointment so I arrived today and was told it will be a 15 minute wait yet it took almost 45 minutes for them to call me. I went to this store to buy 5 large crickets for my bearded dragon. I clearly told the guy that even though my dragon is small, he eats large crickets just fine. Instead of doing his job and giving me what I asked for, he started questioning me like I don't know how to care for my own pet. After I explained multiple times, he ignored me and gave me small crickets anyway. That's completely disrespectful and unprofessional. I am no professional but I've done my dogs haircuts and family friends dog haircut and I've taken them to a groomers got her haircuts there if I cannot due but this is no way of trimming a dog or any good customer service I honestly wasn't in mindset to do my own dog grooming instead of taken her to her regular groomer as well since they were booked full. I wanted to try out pet-smart grooming service I had gotten the $57 bath and groom service , once I called confirmed they had someone who has experience working with Pomeranians or long coat dogs unfortunately what I got was someone who doesn't know how to do their jobs! Got appointment for 9/28/23 at 6 pm once I arrived the lady who was gonna tend to me was backed up with previous I was perfectly fine with that and understood things happened so left and I went back at 7pm an hour after my appointment was suppose to start. I showed her pictures of my dogs usual hair cut she and a sent her reference pictures my groomer used said may take 30-40 minutes you can wait out outside or watch her do it, the custom hair cut I wanted was a round out on my babies fur she use electric shaver on her back areas when I said they use the round out scissors on her hair and clippers and the bottom of her belly but I didn't stress due to trusting the process and being told she has experience. but the behind ended up no where near what I wanted because she used the electric shaver instead the round scissors left the front of my dog un even, chopped up and to many cuts into the fur not rounding her out like I wanted at. Very disappointing after being told she was professional. since she hadn't finished another dog she had backed up she stated I cannot finish nor can continue due to closing soon and having dogs non completed which isn't on me maybe if there was better training she could've had originally finished and tended to me when it was my appointment she didn't charge me for services and gave me a pair of scissors saying I will need to finish her at home. what the actual fuck, you mess up my dog didn't any of instructions nor reference pictures like originally agreed upon even asked me how to due her own job. was very unprofessional grooming and customer service honestly don't go with her. I'm coming in to pay for a service to avoid doing it myself not for someone to mess up my dog and then tell me to fix it myself. I didn't want to get another appointment there but they gave me a free grooming I don't even trust them with my dogs but I'll take it not even a discount or some shit useful like on supplies I didn't want anything to do with grooming but another appointment to disappoint. Managers did a good job handling the situation but still she needs to get better training on dog grooming / handling and customer service if not she needs to quit. read more

To Manager Tim: Dropped off my puppy at Banfield for her 8am appointment. Thought while we were there I'd have my other pup get a pawdicure while we waited. Asked the employees why the grooming dept wasn't open, they said that the groomers may be running late. After 15 min, the same employee came to tell me that the groomers weren't scheduled until 9am. I asked for the manager, just to find out he is the one I asked earlier about the groomers. Manager Tim then blamed the scheduling on COVID and walked away. Totally unacceptable! We had time to kill on a rainy Sunday afternoon, so we took a trip to Petsmart with our furbaby! The store has so much to offer for many different types of pets. You can adopt, her training classes, a vet and grooming all inside the store. You can purchase fish, birds, hamsters and more! They have a large selection of all pet items, food, treats, beds, accessories for fish tank and more. Lots of people were buying Halloween costumes for their pets. It's easy to spend an hour in here and also entertain your pet too! You can bring in your pets as long as they are on a leash. You can also adopt a pet too! Today they had only cats. The store manger Adam is not a good manger. He mistreats his employees by writing them up /firing them for made up incidents he admits he has no proof of. The store also isn't in a good area and the customers that come in are questionable and steal often. I prefer the Hurstbourne location and the manager there is much nicer. read more

We normally love bringing our dog here for grooming and shots, but after today we may not be coming back. Incredibly rude staff when it's normally very friendly. Not to mention scheduling an appointment almost a month in advance only to have our dog left in a cage for hours just to be vaccinated. Local pet store that is very big! Parking lot can be a little crazy at times with all the other shops around. Last week I was able to run in and run out with no issues. Employees were super helpful in answering my questions and helped me to find this cat stuff for a neighbor. Grabbed it for her and got checked out just as quick. My two stars are given for the fact that this store is probably an ok place to purchase goods, but I had an undesirable experience with their grooming services. Feel free to message me for the groomer's name, but at this point I will leave it for anonymity. Her professionalism was something that she has not learned yet in her life and hopefully some one will have the opportunity to teach customer service and overall friendliness. Firstly, I could hear her yelling at my dog through the window which is a huge no-no in my book. But the most unsatisfying part of the grooming appointment was her actual performance itself. The cut she gave my dog was so poorly shaped, I had to take my dog to another groomer to get it completely redone. There were patches of long hair all over her body- a leg, one side of her neck, her tail, a chunk of fur missing from her nose - that it was obvious she clearly didn't even look over her work or care to make it look nice. There were areas where the clippers clearly went shorter than she had intended and just left the hair completely unfaded so chunks were missing. There are some part of the story which might balance her poor job. I had never had my dog's hair groomed before. I know she requires a muzzle when getting her nails trimmed, but not sure how she would do with her hair being groomed. This said, I did tell this to the groomer. To her shock, she nipped when her behind was being groomed. This is when the yelling ensued. She called me in to yell at me as well and stated she wouldn't finish the grooming job. I asked about the muzzle and if she was going to use it when she trimmed her nails. At this point, with the added muzzle she was able to do her job without any problems. Something I would have thought would have been obvious but I'm new to the dog grooming world, so what do I know. I'd also like to state that my dog is less than 15 pounds. Obviously I understand she did play a roll in the groomer's disgruntled behavior, and perhaps this groomer does a fine job with other clients. But this was my poor experience. Upon waiting to pay, the groomer yelled to another stating "let's just hurry up and get the hell out of here." Her disposition completely changed, highlighted by a fake smile and elevation in the pitch of her voice asking me to ask for her next time I wanted another grooming appointment. I forced a fake smile in return and nearly cried on my way out the door. Some first grooming experience. The filth in the aisle adjacent to the benches where the grooming area is and the numerous *occupied* mouse sticky pads near the dog kibble also didn't help matters much. I hope this was an isolated event and no one else has this experience. Definitely not worth $50. If this is your only option, just buy some clippers and do it yourself. read more

If I could give the grooming salon a zero star I would. First the lady who gave my dog a hair cut had an attitude. Second I tell them I wanted my dogs nails clipped. She only does the front and not the back. Then she fucks up my dogs hair cut. Also I saw this one lady who was grooming this German Shepard was yelling at the dog because he wasn't holding still. Who does that? It's a dog come on. They shouldn't be mean to the dogs there. I can only imagine how they treated my dog. I would not recommend this grooming salon to anyone. Their groomers aren't even ready to cut dogs hair. They should get more training before cutting dogs hair. Not professional at all. I was looking for a particular item at this location. According to this location's website the store had in stock, but because it is quite far from me, I called to verify what their website said. The person who answered said they didn't carry that disposable litter box. When I told him the website stated it was in stock he responded "we don't have everything on website". What is the purpose of having a location website, which clearly states it is in stock at this store when I'm then told by an employee that they don't have everything on the website. I absolutely love the groomers at this location. My goldendoodle always looks so cute when we pick her up. It's really easy to book appointments online. I have never had anything but great things to say. The prices are a little high but it's a chain store. I choose to come here because I like the groomers for one. Also they have later hours and are open Saturday and Sunday! If you choose to use their Vet it's right there next to the grooming department. If you ever need both grooming and a vet visit the groomers can take them over there if it's something simple. Just let them know and book both appointments. They even tack on an extra fee for a "straight through" groom, even though dogs with hair instead of fur must be dried and groomed immediately after a bath. My husband and I have been using PetSmart since we've gotten our dogs. We have done the beginning dog training classes with both of our dogs and found it a good experience and great way to socialize both our dogs. The staff in the store are helpful and knowledgeable. Often they have one register open, but are quick to respond to open a second when the line gets long. We also use the grooming service with our dogs. The staff in the grooming department are nice when we bring our dogs in. We are always happy with the results. My concern is the last several times we have not gotten a call to pick up our dogs and after several hours I try to call to check on my dog. The grooming department doesn't pick up the phone and I cycle back to employee carrying the phone. This happens at least 3 times. Last time I just asked the employee to walk back to the grooming department to check. Not sure if they just need someone to just help check-in dogs and to call families, but it has become a frustration. I have used their app the last couple of time to schedule my grooming appointment and sign in my dog and have found that useful. read more

Groomers were great! They went out of their way to take care of my pups. It was my first time getting my two dogs groomed. They give you little puppy report cards which was adorable and let me know what they did and how my boys did. Wish they gave them bandanas or something for getting completed. read more

I called and made appointment for my dog Sunday at 9:30 also left my new number. When I got there was informed by a rude blonde chick with a neck tatoo. That i was late 15 min late. The time was 9:15 my appointment was for 9:30. oh no they had me at 9;00 and the number I gave them was busy when they tryed to call... so because the girl that took my info got it wrong it some how became all my fault and how dare i try to wiggle in.....And by the way she gave me a choice of times and i choose the 9:30. My dog is ill and I went to Petsmart to get her some stool softeners unfortunately Petsmart only sells a little of this and a little of that but nothing in between kind of like big lots. If I could give anything less then one star, I would. We went here to buy a few fish, get some stuff for the tank, and stuff for the dog. After looking at the fish, I took everything in my cart, put it back and we left. Almost every other fish tank we looked in had dead fish in them. Now, I get a dead fish here or there. But these tanks were clearly not being properly cared for. You could tell some of the fish had been laying there dead for quite a while. At least two of the tanks had 4+ dead fish stuck in the filters. It was disgusting. I mentioned something to an employee, and was told "no one has been able to get over there and clean them out today". Clearly no one has been able to care for the fish or tanks for AT LEAST a few days or more. Why would anyone want to buy a fish from tanks that have multiple dead fish in them? We left and went to Petco. So happy we did as their tanks were nice and clean. Shame on this location. read more

This place sucks first off I was taking my dog to another groomers and his fur was so soft and silky everytime he came back wish I would've stuck with them if I would've known they was gonna mess up on my dog like this and we've never had him cut before but petsmart so called said after puppy years their hair coat changes okay that might be true but my dog is never soft when I bring him home from a cleaning appointment . and I pay hell of a lot of money each cleaning appointment which isn't fair to me nor my dog now his hair is cut supper short which we never cut him and he can't even sit on the floor cause hes sliding they cut off areas that were not even matted they just wanted the money but do a crappy job then told my mom oh you can come get him if it's gonna be a problem . after the fact she started cutting him check your records I pay at least 100 every visit and I will never recommend someone to go to them never again they lazy as hell and they all act like they have attitudes if you didn't want to work with dogs why the hell are you even still working or if you didn't want to try and satisfy your costumers why work ? I don't understand! that's why this world is the way it is today because of the rude and nasty people in this world and he Never smells like anything when he comes home from a groomers appointment. Took my shih tzu in to be groomed. The clerk repeated back to me how I wanted her cut and I agreed. Shaved body with a boxy cut on face and ears. Tail trimmed. When I picked her up she was totally shaved. No hair anywhere but a few sprigs of hair on her tail. She looked like a chihuahua. The person who cut my dog was not the person who checked me in and there was a miscommunication. I will not take my dog to be groomed here ever again. read more

Usually always amazing service and selection, had placed a pickup order and due to circumstances they were not able to have it ready the same day, which was not a problem, so I stopped and picked up what I needed on my own. Then I received notice days later in my email that I had picked it up and my card was charged... I contacted online pickup orders and they advised to contact the store directly. I contacted the store and was told that it was indeed still there and had NOT been picked up, but I had to dispute it on my card myself they couldn't fix the issue, basically it was insinuated that someone probably accidentally hit a key saying I had picked it up and it couldn't be fixed just because someone hit a wrong key???? I guess it's ok to charge a customer accidentally and not have to correct it..... so now I get to go through a dispute process with my card, awesome. Then I was told, very sarcastically, it was still there I was welcome to come get it and not dispute the charge??????! (Holy crap) who does that when they made the mistake? Last time that I make that mistake. Bottom line... Be careful when ordering pickup orders. They don't put them back like they advertise, they charge you anyway and tell you to pick it up. I am CERTAIN that is illegal... go figure. A simple correction was all that I needed but apparently that was too much trouble for this store, frustrating to say the least. read more

Visiting Petsmart at the outer loop and others within the Louisville, KY area, we have found the lack of empathy and consistency in the lack of providing world class customer service to be the same across the board. After standing in the fish Department for ten minutes we had to interrupt the associate from playing in the fish tank. Interested in the 125 gallon tank, there was no price and the associate had to locate the price. Then began to tell us the only "new" tank was the floor model and that is the only way they sell it. However in the next breath told us someone bought the one in the box in the back. Maddie at the outer loop told us the cost of the tank and told us "take it or leave it". She had no respect for us as customers. We asked for a discount because it was the floor model, she told us "it's just dust, take it or leave it". We asked her for the manager, it took 10 minutes for another employee to come to the front. Maddie began to tell Courtney (the manager with no name tag) "they want the fish tank but they dont want that one". She spoke in a tone like we had to take the fish tank and were wrong as customers because we wanted it in a box. There was no protection for the tank nor the stand. Courtney didnt even want to speak to us until I asked her for her name and title. Then she repeated what Maddie said, "take it or leave it". No empathy no care for me as a customer. More along the lines of Give me your money take the product if you Jack it up on the way home oh well. Who sells stuff like that? I'd rather spend my money someplace where they care about my wants and needs as a customer and the products I purchase from them. I would advise people to not use this company until they require their employees to undergo customer relationship training. read more

My son purchased a chinchilla along with a cage and all of the other items needed for his new pet. The pet lasted about a month, passing away on Thanksgiving. My son was aware that he was past the two week mark quoted to him, but went to discuss the issue with the store the next day, as he had so much invested. The clerk (manager?) was both unsympathetic to his situation and rude. He was unwilling to look into it because it was Black Friday, and he was too busy. I understand that the store has policies, although two weeks seems a very short period to me. I understand the stress of today's shopping traffic. I know that a real tail setting is difficult in the best of times. However, as someone in a service/retail profession for over 30 years...I find the attitude and lack of empathy inexcusable. I would never treat an upset customer in a manner that only served to make them feel worse. There is no way that I could ever recommend this establishment. My 8 yr old Labradoodle had gone to PetSmart on Outer Loop a number of times. Every time I'd pick her up I would feel she wasn't really "CLEAN". Bending over to nuzzle her face it just didn't smell freshly washed. I would make a comment each time and it would be ignored i was begiinnig to feel it was just me. Also, Each time she seemed to get more and more upset as we entered. This was not the case at our previous groomer (who had moved away) I am rating the lowest BECAUSE I just found out they use AUTO WASH on our precious babies. For those of us who do not know what that is....google it. I was horrified by the videos. Google Auto Dog Wash or Clean Canines, automated Dog Washing, etc. All the results show poor little pets looking scared to death, scratching at the glass doors and barking to get out. I was told this by another groomer but didn't really believe it. Next time I went I very nicely voiced my concern about my pet not seeming very clean and asked if there was something else I could do. She said I COULD PAY EXTRA FOR A HAND WASH!! There you go. We won't be returning. Also the same people are never there for over 3 months. Most of the time you couldn't schedule online. And my charges for AUTOMATED wash was astronomical. In addition they want to charge extra for GRINDING Nails after they chop them up jagged. To add injury to insult after about 7-8 visits I was never offered a discount card. I'm just glad I found out in time. Beware! I won't go back. read more

It is very difficult to get an appointment within a couple of weeks. I had an appointment which was cancelled due to one of the groomers calling in sick. They called to let me know only 2 hours prior to my appointment! Then they could not reschedule me within 2 weeks. They are very expensive, I had enough and am going elsewhere. read more
