I can't say enough good things about our experience at Pretty Paws. We have a shih tzu puppy who was in dire need of some grooming attention. We called and were informed that we could bring her by on any Tues and Thurs afternoon to visit and become comfortable before an appointment for full service. We dropped by on a Tuesday afternoon assuming that it was just a 'hello' and possibly a doggie treat or something. She was offered a quick trim of her face and, OMG, she was treated with such patience that I was in tears (she is a handful). Her official puppy trim (which was carefully explained as being not a full cut/grooming) was two days later and they did an amazing job. We have another dog that is part shih tzu/part yorkie and have had him trimmed at numerous places around town. Never have we seen such TLC and talent!! These folks obviously care about dogs and it shows in their respect to the owners, patience with the dogs, and their attention to detail. Thank you, Pretty Paws for your excellent service! read more

This is such a wonderful place for grooming. The team is so loving and patient with my dogs. That's especially important since I know my puppy Henry is a handful. He just does not enjoy the grooming process which is obviously challenging since he's a Shih Tzu! They are so sweet with him and my other Shih Tzu (who happens to be his mama) and I'm extremely grateful for that. They always listen when I ask for anything specific about the haircut but I never worry because they always come out looking fantastic. Today was our first visit to Pretty Paws. Evryone very nice. I have two dogs. I have a schnauzer and a Jack Russell. I got them from a couple guys that put it on Facebook that they were moving to Texas and they need to find homes for their fur babies, or they have to go to the pound. That's all it took for me. I'm not going to say a lot about our dogs cuts since my wife has already left a review but I thought it was important to post this photo of how they respond and treat customers that don't give their work 4 or 5 stars. Most businesses I deal with will try to satisfy the consumer when there's miscommunication or they do a subpar job but that's not how the owners of Pretty Paws do business. There method is to ridicule you, yell "Fuck" at you repeatedly, and ask if you understand English. Then they'll end by calling you liars in your review, which I'm expecting them to do on this review as well. I know some people have clearly had good experiences at this place so if you want to give them a shot then go ahead. But beware, if you're not 100% satisfied with their work, the owners will treat you garbage. In my opinion, they are simply not nice people. read more

Took my dogs for a wash and nail trim. I had rescued them from the Kentucky Humane Society about 3 weeks earlier. When I went to pick them up they had been cleaned their nails trimmed and they were very happy. I was super surprised and very happy to find out that there was no charge for this as the owner told me it was on him because I had rescued the pups! One of the other owners has all this really cool pottery in the lobby of the shop. There's a variety of things from cups to casseroles to bowls. It has taken me a while to write this review because of how truly traumatizing my experience was with this place. I wanted to try a groomer closer to my home and figured since this place had decent reviews that I would give them a chance. I have two dogs, one of which is a 5 month old puppy and was getting groomed for the first time. When talking to the person who checked me in for my appointment, he mentioned that my puppy would receive a "puppy trim" to get her used to being at a groomer and the grooming tools. I mentioned that I needed her trimmed down enough so that her hair didn't start to mat and she wasn't overly hot during the summer. I thought we had an understanding of what I wanted but when my dogs were picked up, that was clearly not the case. I paid the same price for both dogs ($65) dollars and my puppy had not been cut... except for around her face and paws. My other dog received an okay haircut, nothing exceptional. My puppy was blown out making her hair look even longer. When I called the groomer back to ask about the services I paid for, he very rudely explained that their shop doesn't "cut" puppies and how "everyone knows that". I mentioned to him that I was unaware of this policy and how I would not have had my dog groomed there if that was clearly stated in the beginning. He reiterated how he "explained" to me that he would not be cutting her hair when I talked to him in person, which was not true. Clearly there was a misunderstanding, and I asked him for my money back since I did not receive what I asked for. The groomer became hostile and called my husband and I "fucking con artists" along with other insults. He asked "do you speak English?" as if there was a language barrier to explain his unclear procedures. Needless to say, I will not be back and I cannot believe someone who runs a business would talk to a customer this way. While I do believe some of the misunderstanding was my fault and I should have asked more questions, the groomer did an abysmal job of explaining and handling this situation. I took my pup here on the recommendation of multiple friends. I had originally planned to take both of my dogs, but one had emergency surgery and I had to reschedule her. Pretty Paws completely understood and let me make changes. My dog was already adorable, but Pretty Paws spiffed her up. They are professionals and deserve tips, so please bring cash as they are currently unable to receive tips on a card. Besides the quality work, I appreciated the ease of drop off and pick up. I was also pleasantly surprised that they finished my dog in the early afternoon. I am usually in rush hour traffic to pick my dog up from the groomer. Daisy also showed no signs of distress when I picked her up and that makes me feel good. Bonus: You can also buy some really beautiful pottery. I wish I had a less clumsy lifestyle. read more

This review is long overdue. I came here back in the summer and I plan on coming back very soon! I was so pleased with the haircut my little dog got, it was very easy to specify what I wanted. I've been to those places that have rulers and rug lengths and all sorts of ways to find out what you want your dog to look like and they never get it right. Well this place did, and all I had to do was talk to the person, not fill out some long form! It was very easy to just call and make an appointment, they worked with me on getting a time that worked best. I felt comfortable dropping off my little dog off - for lack of a better word, I got a good "vibe" from the place. And I'm one of those people who treats their dogs like their child so I was very happy to see how calm my dog was when I came to pick her up. Taken our dogs here at least 4 times. Twice they came back with not great cuts and still a little dirty. But hey, the reviews were all so good, we figured it must have just been a couple of off days. However, the last time we went in, we were told twice they would be done before 6. The second time my wife called, Tom interrupted her before she could say another word. Then the owner basically called me a liar for insisting he said that, when both my wife and I heard him... and even though their own hours show they close at 6. The worst part is that we showed up then so they would not be inconvenienced, but we were the ones insulted and yelled at. I tried to reason with the owner, but he just wouldn't listen. I asked for my dog, not realizing they had already started to cut her. They hand her to me half finished. Poor thing looks horrible. I had initially given two stars because the service was not all bad, but then Tom continues to insist that I am being dishonest. I had no idea my dog was in the middle of being cut. We had always dealt with Tom's partner and had never had any issues like this before. The way my wife and I were both treated on the phone and in person is astounding. read more

I called to set up an appointment and was offered a wide range of time slots. The employee on the phone was kind and helpful and 100% accommodating, and he gave me a very clear time frame for the grooming session. My husband dropped our dog off at 9 and we received a call that she was done around 12:45 - over an hour early! Her fur looks better than it's ever looked and she smells fantastic. I made an appointment for a haircut for my dog and was told to bring her in at 2 on the day of her appointment and she would be ready by 6. The morning of her appointment, I called to ask if we could bring her in closer to when she would be cut so we didn't have to leave her there so long, since she always is nervous when I leave her. I was told a second time that I needed to bring her in at 2 and she would be ready by 6. Since their hours show that they close at 6, I called at 5:30pm to ask if we should be there ready to get her so they wouldn't have to wait for us to drive over there to leave. Before I could even say hello, I was gruffly told: "She's not ready yet. I'll call you when she's ready". I was so taken aback I forgot to ask my question and said ok and hung up. Since we still thought they closed right at 6, (and had been told twice that she would be ready by then) we decided to head over and wait for her. My husband waited until 6pm, then went in. He said our dog was just coming out of the wash room and hadn't had her haircut yet. They tried to quickly do it, and the poor thing came out half-done and looking like she was butchered. They got mad at my husband for coming right at 6, even though their hours clearly show that hey close at 6, and we had been told twice that she would be ready by then. I hardly ever leave reviews, but I took my very large dog here yesterday to get groomed, and they did an amazing job. They were even able to trim his nails which, at the last place we took him, they asked me to come in and help hold him while they trimmed his nails, so this was a much better experience. My dog looked beautiful and fluffy, no tangles anywhere and was thoroughly dry, another thing that's been an issue at other places. He also didn't seem remotely upset by the experience, which is always a concern. The staff was very friendly and the reception area was quite clean. The only downside is that it did cost twice as much as I've paid anywhere else, but then again I only take my dog to be groomed four or five times a year, and for the quality of service I can deal with the price. read more

I adopted a beautiful blue grey Aussie in September, and he was more than what I've been accustomed to for bathing, so I wanted to see if he did better with other people.
