So tired of this place giving you a price over the phone and when they're done, they add all extras to the price saying " oh, golden doodles are $10.00 more". plus, today they said they called and left a message and we never picked the dog up. That was a total lie because we finally called to find out why it was taking so long and they responded that they were almost done. My husband flew up there and they charged $10.00 more saying we didn't pick him up until late. He responded " I came immediately from Jamestown to Lakewood. I didn't have an airplane to fly here !". I can't speak to the rest of the store, but I am beyond pleased with the job Tina did in grooming my Corgi. My dog had a TON of hair and I wasn't able to keep up with combing it out. Tina did a wonderful job and even called part way through to tell me how well my old girl was doing, which I really appreciated. Worth every penny. Thank you Tina! read more

I like this store, but heaven forbid if I will ever recommend the trainer Cassandra. Any time I walk in that store and have to ask her for assistance because she is the only one available, I cringe. She is extremely rude to people and does not like to help if she can avoid it. I honestly do not know why she still works here! I remember that when I got my dog and scheduled a training class, but decided to cancel as I didn't need the services, she was extremely rude about it and told me my dog was out of control. My dog has good manners - she did just fine without this class. read more

Wow. Never had a problem with PetSmart grooming at any location until Lakewood. Waited FOUR HOURS for them to groom my 9-pound Pom. Came out looking like someone had trimmed his head while holding the scissors with their feet. Uneven in several places. Had to take him back in twice. Shop was CLOSED for lunch at 2:15 p.m. on a Saturday after they initially stated they were booked solid for two weeks. They should stagger their lunch hours so there is always at least 1-2 groomers available during business hours, especially on a Saturday. Obviously we love our dog regardless. It's just not acceptable to charge $47 for a bath/cut and have him wind up looking like children cut his hair. Particularly when PetSmart promotes that their groomers undergo 800 hours of training. Got the distinct impression they were overbooking then rushing to catch up ($$$). This may be more of a regional corporate issue than a groomer issue. Ultimately took a refund. Kudos to management for recognizing a problem and resolving it without issue. We still have to reschedule for here (or elsewhere). read more

I was looking for an eye rinse for my dog. Not your store, nor online was I able to obtain what I wanted. You are a household brand! We hear from you on TV, radio and on the web. Who looks after your inventory? You are suppose to be the go-to for pet needs. I will go to Tractor Supply for my pet needs from now on. Also, why are your care supply so outrageously priced? I went in to the Lakewood,NY store unplanned. While cashing out a distraught young woman came in asking for help. There was a cashier and another man pushing a cart around, I'm assuming doing an internet order or pickup. He told this woman he couldn't help her because he was busy. By the time I finished cashing out this girl found another employee and the man with the cart came over. This poor young woman was coming to the store with her dog and apparently the car got locked with the dog in it. These employees were so unconcerned and unwilling to help her. They told her law enforcement would not help and maybe she could call someone to bring her spare keys. This woman was not local her phone was locked in the car and it was an 86 degree day with her pet locked in with the windows up! I intervened and called the Lakewood Busti police for her so she could obtain the help she needed. Needless to say I will never go back to this store. The lack of empathy and unwillingness to help these employees showed was disgusting. It's a pet store and they didn't care an animal was locked in a car and assumed law enforcement would not help? This store needs further training on customer service and should not make assumptions of a law enforcement agency and what they do to help their community! read more

Local Lakewood NY store does not follow hours listed on PetSmart website for their location. Website says store is open Sunday @ 9 AM...FORGET THAT / They don't open til 10AM. Website says they have walk in grooming hours when store is open...FORGET THAT / Groomers hours there are as reliable as the rest of the place. Local staff couldn't care less about inconvenience to customers and corporate PetSmart does nothing to correct situation. Too bad, would have liked to continue doing business there. read more

They have good products and are always friendly and helpful. Recently I got my dog groomed there and I could have done a better job in my bathtub using a towel to dry my dog. They didn't brush her out well enough, they cut her nails too short and made her bleed without telling me, it took twice as long as any other groomer and her feet were soaking wet still. They didn't even make any effort to dry her feet. She looked like she just walked out of my bathtub and was itching because they didn't wash out the soap well enough.
