Very friendly people. Had everything I needed. Checkout time was fast. Very clean store considering that a lot of dogs walk through there.

Remodel is nice now with a vet in the back however manager lady was rude and nasty to me for no reason.

I have been taking my 11 year old Pom here for years. Never had a problem until this year. Apparently they had a massive turnover in groomers because none of the ones I've used in the past are there anymore. Anyway, this time, when i took him in, i got a call an hour later to pick him up because he was showing signs of high anxiety. They said I could try again the next day. This was very unlike my boy but I picked him up. He had been "pre-shaved" and looked atrocious. I took him home and he was acting normal. I knew if he was, in fact, having anxiety, I would come home to a mess... flash forward 6 hours, and I get home from work to find him sleeping peacefully. However, anytime I pick up scissors, he tucks his tail and runs and immediately starts shaking. I can't prove it but I believe the groomer was too rough with him. I'm now searching for a mobile groomer in the hopes it will be less stressful. read more

I have taken my Pom Mix here to have her hair cut for four years. They are great at providing quality service, the same service, every time. I do not have to worry about Foxy's hair being jacked up like I did when taking her to PetCo. Very many issues there. Foxy is always comfortable there too, which is very important to me. I brought my small dog in to get a trim. I specifically asked that they not touch his goatee. I showed her what I wanted trimmed. In the end they said my dog was very nervous and therefore they trimmed very little. To my surprise the one thing they took off was the goatee. I will never return to this establishment to have my dog clipped. Do not use their grooming services if you want your dog groomed correctly. read more

My husband and I have a 10+ year old Pitt bull/Boxer mix who, despite her age, is very strong and terrified of water. After years of stressful bathing and cutting her nails on our own, we decided to go to the professionals. The groomers at Petsmart are wonderful and highly skilled. They focus on the well-being of each dog that comes into the salon. My dog's groomer listened to my concerns as a pet parent and took the time to address my dog's needs to make the experience less stressful. We now routinely take our dog to Petsmart because she gets the best service and care. I highly recommend that you talk to the groomers about your dog and discuss any special needs/concerns. Extremely poor customer service. We live an hour away. We called to see if they had any gerbils available. The lady who answered the phone was extremely rude and said she could not help us. She said they were too busy and didn't have enough staff. There are many other ways she could have handled the situation, she chose to be rude and unhelpful. read more

They destroyed my dogs hair. Shaved all of her hair off. She came home greasy and uneven and needed a whole bath. She was there for 6 hours and when I called to check on her they said they were busy and didn't have time to call me so she was just sitting there. Extremely rude, got our money back and will not be returning. Do NOT recommend unless you want your dog to look like a hairless cat. (DISCRIMINATION) There is a female groomer there who will not groom a dog if they have black hair, no matter how nice the dog is, because she was once attacked by a black dog. Took my black haired lab there for a scheduled appointment without knowing this, she told me to leave since she was the only groomer there. I was refused service and had to cancel my plans due to having to drive my dog home. Would never recommend a location that does not have fully qualified workers. read more

I brought my Yorkie here to get groomed because it was cheaper than it was at home (originally from Northern VA area). I have taken my Yorkie to PetSmart grooming up in Northern VA, but this PetSmart by far has done the best job grooming my dog! Every time I have taken him, I am so satisfied with the way he looks! Unfortunately, I moved back up to Alexandria, but I highly recommend this grooming salon. I usually requested Kendall and loved how my Yorkie turned out every time! I also was really impressed with their staff within the store. I was looking for some shampoo to use on my Yorkie because he was getting really itchy and one of the employees was very knowledgeable about my Yorkie's situation. He provided me various reasons as to why my dog was so itchy and recommended different types of shampoo and even dog food. He wasn't too pushy about me purchasing anything either and even gave me a link for one of the dog food brands to fill out to find out what dog food would be best suitable for my dog. I was very impressed with how helpful he was and how knowledgeable he was. This is definitely my favorite PetSmart and I'm sad that I won't be able to come back. :( read more

I took my Pom here today and asked that he was trimmed and rounded out. well they shaved him down and made him look terrible. You're never supposed to shave a Pom and his hair cut looks terrible now. I'm so unhappy and told the girl that's not what I wanted.. I then found out they cut him under his belly which they did not tell me when I picked him up. TERRIBLE experience with the groomers. Made an appointment for a 10am grooming, showed up 5 minutes early. There was ONE dog there, and he was done, waiting to be taken off the table, and another coming in for a walk-in. You'd think that would mean our dog should have been seen at his appointment time. We leave to run some errands and *40 minutes later* we get a call that they can't groom him because he won't come out of the kennel. Kennel? Why is he in the kennel, let alone for 40 minutes. His appointment was at 10. Not 10:30. Not 10:40. No wonder he was freaked out. Strange people, strange place, and they stick him in a small cage with NO bedding of ANY kind, for almost an HOUR? I asked why they couldn't see him at his booked time. They said they book 2 dogs at a time, and can only bring out one at a time - despite having 3 groomers, and 4 tables in the room. BUT, if I want to pay extra, he can get the express service and be groomed at his actual appointment time (despite JUST being told that they couldn't groom him today). Um, thanks but no thanks. You've caused my dog plenty of anxiety for one day. Pass. read more

I always order online and pickup in stores because you end up paying less for the same thing. Today I had to deal with the manager due to a problem with my online order. She was rude and condescending and acted as if I was inconveniencing her with my business. This manager is definitely not management material.
