We had an appointment today (March 10) at the Vet in the back of the store. Walking thru the store, the floors were gross. Stuff was smeared on the floor (question what it was), there was fur balls everywhere! It doesn't take much to run a dust mop around. The employees who work in the grooming area are rude and disrespectful. Made a 9:30am appointment to have my small 15 lbs dog groomed. We checked in at 9:25am and I was Told the groomer wasn't in yet so we waited until 10:10am. When I finally inquired about the appointment, Elly N told me "I guess I can take your dog but I'll have to charge you a late fee." If they can't efficiently run an office how can they take care of dogs. Go get trained in manners & awareness before you interact with the public who expect better from YOU and PetSmart. What a waste of my time and so disappointed in PetSmart. They must know this is the kind of employee that's representing their brand. read more

The PetsMart grooming staff was professional. They did an excellent job with my Schnoodle matted hair. We've used them several times.

I purchased a bag of dog food that ended up having maggots Ian's a whole nest in it. Luckily I purchased the bag of dog food one day ago so it was pretty much full. When I arrived I was told that could switch out the bag. When I went to grab it, the whole shelf was FULL. Of maggots in their nests, and all over the bag as well. I do not recommend purchasing from this store although the customer service was good and I was able to receive a refund instead of store credit. Go to petco instead. read more

My 9 yo Maltese is a character and experiences anxiety of separation every time I bring him to the groomer. I tell every time, once I disappear and my dog doesn't see me, he calms down and lets you do to him whatever you need. But they insisted on me to stay which made the situation with my dog behavior way worse. Never ever for 9 years I was refused in a grooming service fr my Maltese till today. Chris M wasn't able to deal with him (this is the second time she failed with providing services to me and my dog), and I was told to make an appointment with the groomer who used to work with my dog before. I arrived home and wanted to rebook an appointment online with Elly N who provided grooming with no problems several times before (started the day Chris M failed the first time), but I wasn't able to do this because they just banned me for the whole country stores with no warning, including my another very sweet and friendly dog. This is very disrespectful and beyond rude, literally made me feel trash. When I called to make an appointment with Elly N by the phone, I was also refused to use their grooming services. If one person isn't experienced enough and not able to get the situation under control, why not to let another one who is more confident with how to do things and had positive experience with my dog before? And why needed to cut me off with both of my dogs just because of your fear and lack of confidence? That is just disgusting of you. read more

Do not go to the grooming Department at Coconut point! They have the worst help, not very educated......I went in to make an appointment and was very specific of what I wanted for my Shitzu Mix. I even chose the razor to use for the hair length I wanted. The person put all of this down in the computer and read it back to me. My husband dropped the dog off and the groomer looked in the computer and mentioned a teddy cut and god knows what else. My husband said, just do whatever my wife asked you to. I was told to bring in proof of his rabies shot. When my husband presented it to the groomer, she said we do not need that. I am so confused. When we went to go pick up our Louie, we were shocked. We had good service at Petsmart where we used to live so we took a chance on the location at Coconut Point. They hadn't been groomed for two months because of complications with our move. They did a fantastic job on our dogs! They looked like two round fur balls when we dropped them off and when we picked them up they looked like show dogs! My mom took her dog here today to get groomed. She pointed to the hair length she wanted on some chart to be no shorter than 1 inch -3/4 of an inch. They butchered her poor dog. His hair is so short, you can see the skin underneath. He looks like a rat. My mother is older so she didn't request a manager to complain and does not remember the lady's name that did this except that she had really short hair herself. I am so upset from the pictures she sent me. This groomer needs more training or to be fired. My mom could have saved her money and groomed him herself. Do not bring your dog here for grooming!!! The staff was kind however when I dropped off my Australian Shepherd I asked only for a light maintenance trim. When I got her back they had shaved her down. Anyone with a knowledge of this breed knows if you shave their coat it is ruined for life also, they aren't supposed to be shaved because their coat protects their skin from sunburn. The hair is gone now so nothing I can do but I will never be returning for grooming services.... read more

Within the month of January 2017, I had three negative experiences at the Banfield clinic at this location: 1. My dog was having breathing problems and I came 10 minutes till closing and the doctor would not see her and sent us to the emergency hospital down the street. I was stressed, panicked and afraid and had to figure out where to go as I'm still new to the area. 2. I came to pick her up from having her six-month check up and I had to wait about an hour because she was not ready even though I had dropped her off before 8 o'clock in the morning and it was now about 5:45 pm. 3. The third and final straw and the reason I will never return to this location is because I took my dog to the clinic to get her annual teeth cleaning and the doctor forgot to take off the catheter from her leg when they sent her home. They had told me to take off the bandage from her leg when I got home so as I did, I noticed a vial still attached to her leg. Banfield had closed so I called the emergency clinic (whose number I luckily now had) and they told me not to do anything because it could ruin a vein and to wait until the morning to have the nurse or doctor remove it. When I took her back the next morning they apologized and said it was not supposed to have been left in as she could have tried to have remove it and ruined her vein. I was beyond livid and will be writing the office. My advice is to go somewhere else. read more

Grooming department is the worst and beyond rude. Went to drop off our dog for a scheduled appointment and was told to wait outside the grooming department and they will come get us. 20 minutes later still waiting I went inside and stood there another 10 minutes while they ignored me. Finally someone asks if I needed help. I stated yes we had an appointment scheduled 30 min ago and we are still waiting. They said we are obviously busy and I replied I made this appointment 2 months ago. Then I asked can you reschedule me since you overbooked and was rudely told to go online and find myself an appointment. I said okay well how long would I have to do wait now and was told who knows. I left outraged at their behavior and spoke to a manager. Also while we were originally waiting a large dog they were grooming kept barking and the groomer proceeded to clamp her hands over his muzzle repeatedly to get him to stop while another slipped off a low table while they were doing his nails. Took my small dog in. They put a choke collar on her and she was scared and it started choking her, cutting off her airway. I had to step in and say stop choking my dog. They ask me is she was vicious; no she is scared to death. I did some research on choke collars and it can crush a small dog's airway. Never again will I go there. read more

I took my adopted Domestic Long Hair to get groomed there and she came back with bald spots and a patchy shave. As soon as i got her home she ran away to the corner of our walk in closet and i had to shake her treat bag in order to find her. Avoid this petsmart, i might sound like a crazy cat person but I'm embarrassed for my poor cat. The last time she behaved like this was when we first adopted her. So done with this place it's ridiculous! The manager here needs to be fired! Stopped in on New Year's Day to buy a new fish tank for my boyfriend to start off the year. I don't know what I'm looking for when ot comes to fish, so after I picked out the tank I wanted (I want to say it was either $300 or $350) I went to find an employee to help me. The employee I found was a short red head, named Amber. At first, she was patient with my questions, but she quickly lost patience, and kept checking her phone during the conversation. At one point, she pulled her phone out, said excuse me, and just walked away from me. I left, and didn't return until today. Again, I walked around lookong for an employee, found Amber, and waited for her to finish her conversation, with her co-worker, Collin. That conversation got uncomfortably flirtatious, and I walked out after at least five minutes of not even being addressed. I'm such a loving person, who wants to say good things, even in bad reviews, but I can't with this place. It's just horrible all the way around. Your estero store in Florida is horrible. I took my little well mannered 10 year old dog there to get groomed and he came back with a cut and seemed shaken. Claire was his groomer and she clearly needs some training. She also groomed him very bad and was not done in several places. We had to groom him when he got home so he looked acceptable. I've never had this problem at petsmart before but we will never take him back there again. Figured you would like to know about the horrible service happening at that location. read more

If I could give no stars I would. I use to make my way here every 4 months for about 2 years and never exactly had an issue but knew the quality of customer service was in decline both on the main floor and the grooming services. No one is ever around to help answer questions or give direction and they normally only have 1 clerk on register, making this location have a longer than average line. The grooming services are a little different. I had trusted two individuals to handle my dogs grooming experience and normally he was okay there was just no consistency in the haircuts. Always looked different but that is not a huge issue to me. I called earlier and tried to book an appointment and could tell this stylist was new. I wanted to book an appointment and she didn't bother asking me if I had previously went there but bulldozed me with questions that she could have easily have looked up and got annoyed when I told her to loop my profile up. Then in the background I hear other groomers say, "UGH I hate booking appointments it's so annoying.." continues on to explain how she can't handle that part of her job. Nearest appointment was 2 weeks out so I thanked her said "thank you I just can't wait that long" and was going to end the conversation but she rudely said *sigh* okay thanks good bye. I didn't mean to waste her time, I was just asking and she was the one rushing me off the phone as if it didn't matter if I booked there or not. :( read more

One star because they sell boa constrictor snakes. True they are not those Burmese Pythons but when I was speaking with a man that owned one of the snakes they sell, he said they grow to five feet. And what does a person do in Florida when the snake is no longer wanted because of size, etc, they drop them off in the Everglades. Florida is overrun with species of snakes that do not belong to the ecology. Shame on Petsmart for trying to make a few bucks more selling snakes that grow to a six foot length. read more

We have been going to this Pet Smart for years for nail trimming. The groomers do not seem to understand that in order to have a job, you need customers, and you need to be nice, no matter how busy you are. When we were unable to have nails trimmed by walk-in, at the desk they said you need to schedule on line. Went out to the car to schedule on-line - it would not allow you to schedule nails only. Went back in store: You need to schedule bath and nails. Went back out: On-line scheduling would not allow you to schedule anything even though it showed open appointment. Back in store: can you please schedule this for us - two nail trimmings. No, you have to do it on line. We called Dipidy Dawg at Corkscrew and Tamiami and they said "Come on over now, we will get you taken care of." We waited a mere 15 minutes at most to have the nails completed. It was less expensive - yes, we gave a generous tip - AND they really appreciated the business. I vote no for Pet Smart at Coconut Grove. Those people are cranky! read more

Poorly trained staff. Cashier did not know how to sell a gift card. She called the manager who said they preferred to sell them in cash for $25 or less because "they've had problems." I wanted one for more than that, so in addition to my approved credit card, they needed to see my driver's license. I showed my license, and the manager took a copy of it. I should have just left. I have been going to their groomer for a year and I keep trying to like them. I pay 50 dollars and my dog comes back with one or two mats on his belly! Do they think Im stupid that I will not notice when it has happened 3 times. They fixed it the last time, but this time I am just done. They cannot even pronounce my dogs name and I have been going for a year! I would rather pay more money and go somewhere else where they care to actually groom my dog.
