Stopped in here on our way home from the zoo to get my dog some new & different treats that I cannot find by my house and this place sure did deliver. They had super good deals on treats that the dogs chew to clean their teeth that came in a variety of flavors (thank goodness! my dog is soooo tired of dentasticks). I couldn't believe they actually had one that is supposed to taste (I'm am NOT licking it to verify it tastes like chicken) and smell like chicken (I can however verify that it smelled like chicken broth). My dog DEVOURED that thing. And it was on sale for $1.30. They also had a bunch of toys and their customer service was stellar. The only thing I don't like about this store is that you have to have their card to get the deals. Seriously people. If I put any more of these stupid cards on my key chain I am not going to have room for my keys!!!!!! read more

If I am looking for something a little out of the ordinary, I try to go to Petsmart over Petland. I have a shih tzu named Nugget and he always likes to go into pet stores with me. There are usually many other dogs in the store and he enjoys it. I think everything is fairly priced and can find deals on clearance toys. Nugget approves of this store read more

This review is for our training experience with Todd. Perhaps it works for some and was not a good fit for us. I did really like the incorporation I'd clicker training into the training so that is a definite pro! We decided to take training elsewhere however. The training space is small, so if someone has a loose grip on their leash, another dog can be in your dogs space FAST. In order to mitigate the tiny space, our trainer often had us practicing our in the floor of the store, such as practicing polite walking, which felt equally weird. We were instructed to approach shoppers and have them help with our training (for example, sitting while greeting). This felt sooo strange and awkward to me. We decided to continue our training at a dedicated dog training business rather than a retail store. This is not quite the fault of the trainer but it did seem like many of the people missed classes frequently or were not practicing which meant time had to be dedicated to review and kept the class from moving forward. read more

I took my pup to get her fur groomed This was my first time with pet smart and when we got there they said her hair was tangled and that she couldn't get the exact style we wanted we said that was fine and she showed us how short it was going to be we said yes that's fine,we also told them to leave the tail exactly how it was and they said ok. We came to pick her up at 7:30 they were still not done I kept looking at how they cut her hair the groomer slapped her in the face 2 times and she cuted a lot of her furr that she almost didn't have fur anymore they also cut her tail when we told them not to and they also showed us how her hair was going to look it looked nothing like how she showed us while she was cutting the hair she paused and left her there and then started using her phone. Also they canceled the appointment 3 times because they didn't know how to read the date in the records and they also traumatized my pup by hitting her. Very bad service. read more

Today I took my puppy to the pets hotel for doggie day camp. About an hour later I get a call that my puppy had been bit in the neck by another dog but that it was no big deal and not bad at all. They put her back into camp with the other dogs. 20 minutes later I get another call saying that she needs to be taken out of camp because she received further injuries and that she could sit in a cage all day hurt and I could pick her up. Upon picking her up I realize just how serious the injury is. She had a gaping hole in her neck. I had to take her to an animal ER right away where she received staples and has to be on perscription. Petsmart played it off as no big deal and we had to fight with them to cover her hospital fees. Also they put her a little 25 pound dog in with 50+ pound dogs. So wrong. I would advise not to use this daycare program. read more

This is a review about the PetSmart Pet Hotel on Sawmill Rd. in specific not about the store. The pet hotel is terrible and I fear for the safety of other people's pets that are unwittingly using their service. When I got my dog back after a two day stay his demeanor was entirely off. He went from playful and sociable to fearful and timid. His belongings were saturated in urine and his dry food (new at the time) was damp and smelled sour. He was vomiting when I brought him home and had a rash his paws. The hotel supervisor was unprofessional, impatient, and impolite when we brought our dog in. She rushed us through the paperwork, didn't make eye contact, and didn't smile. Please do not bring your pet here. We've boarded our dog with other places with none of these problems. read more

So disappointed. I have a Rhodesian ridgeback and a German shepherd that I bring here for nail trimmings. They both have black nails and I'm paranoid about clipping their nails too short. The pet salon has always been wonderful, and I've been bringing them here for years. Today I walked in and didn't recognize any of the girls working. One of them without turning asked quite rudely "have you been here before?" I told her I had been here multiple times and wanted to get my dogs nails trimmed and grounded down. She then, still without turning around, said there were other people before me so I'd just have to wait. I felt a little confused because it's not like I kicked the door in demanding to be waited on, but either way, I stood there and waited my turn. They took my ridgeback and the girl was done in like 5 minutes seriously. She brought him back up to me and it looked like she'd cut like every 3rd nail. I was a little annoyed, especially because for two dogs I'm spending $40 every visit. When they brought my shepherd back, his nails looked great, so I showed the girl my ridge backs nails and asked could they be fixed. She rolled her eyes and took the leash and immediately walked him back to the back where I couldn't see. I seriously was a nervous wreck. I have no idea why she didn't just touch it up right in front of me, and I was worried for my dogs safety. She brought him back and while his nails looked fine, he was cowering down... Definitely not his personality. I hate to let one bad experience ruin a place's reputation, but I will not be coming back here. Sorry... You just lost a multi year customer. read more

I used the pet hotel for the first time today. My dog is a mature, professionally trained rescue dog. We have used boarding and daycare services for quite some time. When I picked my dog up he was agitated beyond description and wet on the floor. He dragged me out the door and peed a remarkable amount and then pooped. This dog is like a clock. He eats at 7 and poops at 8 in the morning. I dripped him off at 7:30 am. I went back in (8:00 pm) and asked when he was walked and they said at noon, this is their policy. And that if I hadn't picked him up they wouldn't have walked him until closing at 9 pm. Ridiculous and abusive. Don't take your pet here. It sounds like they were good in the past but they are no good now. read more

It's been three weeks since our dog was groomed at this location so I've had time to calm down. Suffice it to say, we will not return to have our dog groomed here again. What a terrible experience! We have a golden doodle and the groomer made her look totally ridiculous. Three weeks after her tail looks like a weird broom. There were uneven patches all over her body. a very good place all your pet needs sometimes they offer deals on pet supplies better keep checking for them. i also like the fact that u can give money to help pets. animals can't talk so we don't know what they need all the time so help out every so often and give your dollar. they always have lost or dropped off animals mostly cats with a sad story that they had lived or made up i don't know. very touching so if u want to cry go back there and read those stories. a good place to shop. read more

Called yesterday to have my puppy taken there for the dog day camp. They went through the qualifications with me and told me to bring his shot record when I drop him off. I got there this morning and the woman asks if he is neutered. I told her that he's only 4 months and the traditional age to neuter is 6-9 months old. She told me that he can't go to the dog day camp because they only take neutered dogs. Why wasn't this explained before I got up early, drove up there, and wasted my gas! Petsmart will NEVER get another dime of my money. I took my dog to pet palace where they actually understand the neuter process, the place is nice/clean and they happily took my puppy. Camp Bow Wow is also another good place that only asks dogs be neutered AFTER they are 6 months old. Thank you for making me late for work today Petsmart. Great job! read more

I have used this groomer in the past for my cats, so I am aware that they only have 1 groomer for cats. Knowing this, I called ahead to make sure that someone was there. I got told yes, so I told them we would be there shortly. Get there about 10 minutes after calling with both of my cats, which is not an easy thing to do, only to find out that the cat groomer just went to lunch and wouldn't be back for half an hour. The ladies working said no one told her we had called, and that they could just put our cats in the kennel until the groomer gets back. No. Thats why I called ahead, so I wouldn't have to kennel my fur babies or wait for someone to be there. Terrible service. Will not be going back. read more

We are taking our puppy here for the puppy training course with Adam, and we love it! He is learning so much, and getting to interact with other puppies has him worn out every time we leave! Adam has been so helpful in having a solution for all of our puppy problems at home. Still have a few more weeks of puppy training, but so far we couldn't ask for any better! I would highly recommend this puppy training course to any of you puppy lovers out there with a new rascal at home. read more

I love Petsmart. They always have great deals, whether online or in their stores! However, their grooming services are a little overpriced...cost $70 for a bath and nail trim?? Okay so they did a FANTASTIC job...I still think it's really high and they have so many grooming services that it's confusing. Also, their daycare play areas are very small and the dogs always look pretty bored. They also have obedience classes here which I think was really good. I enrolled my dog in a puppy class before and the trainer was very obedient and really helped with my dog's socialization process. read more

We have used Petsmart for 6 years from grooming to the hotel but this is our last time at the hotel. My 22 year old daughter was given a hard time for dropping of our dog since she was not on the master list of people to make decisions. When I Called to add her on they said I had to physically be there to sign something. I'm not sure what era they live in but now everything can be done on internet these days. Even my verbal agreement over phone was not enough. So we're done. I know he gets good love and attention there but a little common courtesy to my daughter was not shown at all. read more

For starters when I got there the lady who attended me had an attitude and kept on pointing out and say "oh wow do you even brush him?" I was like yes. So they took him in and I came back with a receipt of 70$. Keep in mind that I only asked for a haircut and just a haircut. We love this PetSmart's grooming salon and Doggie Day Camp. Our Goldendoodle has been going there for approx 1.5 years. The grooming salon is more affordable than most and actually listens to my requests. He is very fluffy and I usually don't want them to use clippers. They do a great job of trimming him up without making him too short. He rarely has matts but will call if they find one before shaving. They will try to get it out first of course. I recommend the Top Spaw package with conditioning treatment, nail grinding, etc. We use the doggie day camp for one day out of every two weeks. He's always excited to go, the employees know his name and are very pleasant. He has been put in time out once for being too hyper and "bucking" like a horse. This is very likely and I appreciated the time out. It's also usually easy to get a last minute reservation which makes life much easier. He seems to go potty there as well. We've never had any problems after leaving. I've stopped in a random times and it seems there are almost always employees in the room playing with the dogs. read more

We picked our dog up from the kennel where she had puppy play time/camp every other day and after a week she had a UTI, double ear infections, blood shot eyes and giardia and they didn't call us to tell us until we picked her up and nothing was written in the report we got back about it. She also couldn't bark on command and had no voice so I assume she was barking a lot during her stay which isn't typical of her. I will not be bringing my dog back here for boarding again. read more

I would highly recommend the Petsmart Pet Hotel on Sawmill Road for cat boarding. Everyone in that store, from manager to cashier went out of their way to play and cuddle with Squeeks during his stay, and to say goodbye when we picked him up today. This was by FAR the best cat boarding experience ever. My dogs have never been there, so I can't speak for dog boarding, but I can't say enough for the care they gave to my 19 year old kitty. So, we are done with their grooming at this location. All they know how to do is shave down a dog. Will give you every excuse in the book as to why. Dog is too matted, there's no way, etc. no matter what condition I've brought her in, always the same thing. I've seen matted dogs. My dad is not matted. I honestly think it's just their excuse for not wanted to brush or scissor cut. It's so sad to take your dog in and pick her up completely naked. She is a doodle so has a curlier coat, but is not matted. If they don't know how to do curly haired dogs they shouldn't do it. I thought it was just me, but after talking with numerous people, other doodle owners, this is the conclusion I've come to. Just like with my own hair, I'd rather pay slightly more for a groomer that knows how to actually groom hair, not just shave it down to save time/effort. Never. Again. read more

If you have to go with Petsmart I would recommend the Easton location as opposed to Dublin. My issues with this location came to a head on Friday. My boyfriend and I take our dog to daycamp when he is out of town and I have to work. Every time I pick her up I notice a scratch or cut on her. She is a 2 year old black lab/Sharpei mix so I understand that she has lots of energy and plays hard so I never gave it much thought because the scratches did not seem to bother her. Well fast forward to Friday and I pick her up from Daycamp and we are in the car and I touch her shoulder and she yelps (she DOES NOT yelp). I looked on her shoulder and it was covered in dried blood with about a half inch laceration from a bite. I was never notified of an incidence with her and by the time we got home the bite mark was draining fluid and I could literally see red flesh. I called Petsmart and told them about the bite and without question they just gave me the information of the VCA Animal Hospital and to call them and Petsmart would fit the bill. The next morning at the Animal Hospital I was told that they get a lot of dogs from Petsmart coming through there. She was given antibiotics and pain meds (luckily this vet said stitches were unnecessary and that I just needed to make sure it doesn't get infected). This was clearly an aggressive bite wound. If my dog feels threatened she will either go play with another dog or she will be vocal and tell them to leave her alone. From the look of the bite mark she was clearly attacked. It is hard for me to believe that no one heard her yelp when she got bit or did not here an aggressive dog growling. If they did hear anything why was I not notified. We will not be taking her back to the Dublin location because we simply cannot risk her safety if employees are not watching or the number of dogs per worker is too many. The Easton location is AMAZING! The workers always have cute stories to tell about her day and really seem like they bond with her and are fully present. read more
