The grooming salon is horrible. They close hours early. Once I even wasted time driving there after and it was completely empty and closed, even though I had scheduled an appointment earlier. I'm not wasting my time and gas money here anymore. At least the groomers at Petco and the numerous family owned groomers in town are actually there for their shift. At PetSmart they jet up to 4 hours early on a regular basis and don't always check their appointments before doing so! read more

I dont own any pets or anything and dont plan on to in the future but we love coming here to this PetSmart to look at all the animals! Since I been living in MS as you all may know we dont have a zoo here or a aquarium. I am excited about the new aquarium they are building here and is set to open in 2020 but I'm not sure ill be here by then. I do understand we have some alligator farms here and there and besides that your either driving to NOLA or Mobile to see fish and animals. Wait no more come to you local PetSmart to see everything all in one store. This place is amazing with beautiful aquariums of fish in a nicely decorated tank. We enjoy taking the kiddos here so they can see the fish and watch them swim. They also have cats for adoption where you can see them and play with them through the window as well. Are you into reptiles as well? They have snakes, turtles, and geckos too! They also have hamsters and guinea pigs and small mice and rats. This is a great place for educational purposes and teaching kids about animals. They sell crickets too! Other than that they have all kinds of things for your pets ranging from food, toys, and even clothes! You are allowed to bring your furry friend inside on a leash to see what he or she likes and its great to see the dogs in there version of a " Toys R Us". They even do haircuts and wash them as well and you can see them through a window getting that fresh line up. They also provide dog training in a separate area inside the store too! Overall pretty cool miniature zoo out here in the Gulf coast to view some animals and fish and the location cant be beat! Its located in the Prominade shopping center in D'ilberville , MS. A big box pet store that carries limited stock outside of food, toys, housing/boarding materials, and some basic aquarium fish & beginner birds like the green parakeets. There were no dogs/cats in the back, a sign about adoption (but not much information beyond that, so much for picking up a pet then), and I saw no guests in the store except ourselves... it was empty on a Wednesday early evening (6pm). You're probably going here for the first two items (although getting some of the supplies online seems to be cheaper at Freshdirect and Chewy based on a quick Google search - though Jsca N. made a good point that they mark down things that are closer to expiry). Also a fair number of older aquarium items up front that were on sale (including some truly terrible looking tank decorations). I saw two associates in the store - one carrying supplies to the back and another at the check-out. Not sure if they're normally so light-staffed, or if everyone else was in the back. read more

Horrible customer service... I have made 2 blank trips to the salon. No one called to confirm the appointment. I love 30 minutes away, and brought my dog in for grooming in the pouring rain. The second time I came they took 10 dollars off his visit and didn't do the proper grooming. I mean horrible, and waste of money. They do nothing to please their customers. (First and potentially last time at this location) I brought bear in for a de-furmanator bath as I usually get for him at other locations and they convinced me to add on a couple other things which was fine. I came to pick him up and the people behind the desk seemed irritated in general stating,"where is Bears owner" seeming just really agitated. I asked how he did and they said he was fine, no issues. But when we left, he smelled the same as if they didn't bath him and his nails and everything else I paid extra for didn't seem to be done either. Usually I'm really happy with petsmart and what they offer but this location definitely did not get the job done. Drove 20 minutes to look at the cats, the little skinny girl employee wouldnt let me and my baby daughter look at the cats uness we were interested in adopting, she said if were not adopting then we cant hold the cats. The cat inside the glass obviously wanted attention and for us to play with it. If my daughter bonded with the cat then we woud have got one, I just wasnt going into it expecting it. My daughter slapped the glass a few times before I could stop her (shes 13 months) shes gonna do baby things and the employee jumped over and said "dont bang on the glass" in a rude and hurried manner. Not only that but when we requested to see the cat by name the snotty girl said "who"? She should know the name of the cats she works with since there are only like 8 cats total. Not only did we drive 20 mins but also waited another 20 mins for the snotty skinny girl to finish up with her other customers as we waited patienty and were in good moods the whole time. The employee walked past us and and the other customers waiting and didnt even tell us she'd be back to help us. I might just go to corporate with this cause we were so polite and nice to her and we got treated poorly. read more

Great store. It's a chain, obviously, so there isn't much of anything about this store that differs from the other PetSmarts. They have a good selection of products that I go for regularly. They mark their pet foods, snack, etc, down 50% when they are a month or two out from their sell-by date. I always double check the dates on the stuff I'm buying and if I find something within these parameters that hasn't been marked down yet, I always ask and so far this store (and others) have always marked them down for me. They bring a lot of their last change sale items up to the front by the doors. It's a great place to look for treats for your animals. It's also a great place to pick up something as a donation for a local animal shelter. Sometimes it is products that are nearing their sell-by date, but often times it is products they are no longer going to carry so they have a long shelf life ahead of them. This location does a good job managing the flow of traffic so that if one line gets too many people in it, they will promptly call up another cashier. This PetSmart is conveniently located, easy to access, and close to many other shopping places. Great location for when running errands. read more

Ya know the one thing I came for and they don't have it. Not happy.....so it actually worked in my favor in a huge way. I found my water filters online at Amazon for a fraction of the price. I ordered a dozen for what I would have paid for three (had they had it in stock) at Pets Mart. I understand they can't have everything but they had a decent variety of filters but many of the boxes were just empty. So look online and save a ton of money. read more

I visit Petsmart often to get food, treats, and other items for my dog. Sometimes the prices on some items are a little high however they always have sales going on for different things and do accept coupons if you enroll in the free pet perks program. We have had our dog groomed here several times and have always been pleased with the job done. Mr. Mac the cashier today was very pleasant and his customer service was awesome. The store itself is not very big compared to other locations and they do not sell as many choices of things like meal enhancers, however they do have a wide variety to choose from. read more

I've never had an actual horrible experience for the shopping before but man let me tell you about the grooming. So I wanted to get my dog a nail trim simple as that. I called to set an appointment but luckily they said thats just a walk in. Okay awesome! Drive about 30 mins there, walked in, and stood there for about 3 minutes before I was asked if I had been helped. Let them know how I wanted a simple nail trim. Have to buy this package...no biggie. Then they ask if my dog had his rabies shot I said yes but they want proof..cool get it but why fuck didn't you say this over the damn phone before I drove 30 mins here. Call my spouse, he's willing to drive here 17 mins go by - heres the thing so during these 17 mins I could hear them laughing about dog names being stupid and ugly dogs how they dont like the job spraying dogs in the face if they get rowdy and how they r going be getting shithoused. There's 3 other customers in here ladies!!! How about some professionalism & composure. you can tell these employees r the type to not want to work or halfassing their job! Then I look up from my phone and stare at the girl she ask if I've been helped I said I'm waiting on my husband to bring the papers...she said why not take a picture. OMG! I almost blew up! Aside from them talking nonsense and not Informing me and being rude I was getting heated. Then at the end they ended up not being able to take my dog because he didn't have a flea treatment! Don't use these groomers!! I should have looked on here before but I've never had a bad experience with other petsmart groomers, this was my first and last trip to this petsmart!! I have 3 dogs that got groomed they started off by saying 3-4 hours I went in at about 4.5 hours once I was done shopping in town and they said it would be about another hour. At the 7 hour mark I went back in and they said they just finished. Once I got the dogs out side where it wasn't a mad house I noticed that my female was bleeding on the back of her leg where they cut her, my schnauzer's skirt was not trimmed correctly along with multiple missed spots on all 3 dogs. My schnauzer had one mat of hair on his chest that they did not get out and looks like they just left it long and cut around it. The service is good and I'm sure most of the staff is also, but I've never been a fan of the way they keep their reptiles and the knowledge of the staff is almost funny. I once heard an employee talking about housing totally incompatible animals together, and giving very poor advice on feeding a tortoise to a new sulcata owner. Having one myself I stepped in and improved the advice. I can't remember if this was in gulfport or diberville, so I'm giving diberville the benefit of the doubt or this would be a 1 star review. They have great products though, even though they don't sell frozen rodents large enough for large reptiles to feed. I mainly shop their for my dog, even though they claim to be for all pets. I am still forced to do the majority of shopping for my reptiles online. read more

I had an appointment today to get my dog groomed, and the facility was so disgusting that I walked out. I can't believe they expect people to drop their animals off at a place so nasty. This is the part of the grooming facility that everyone sees. I can't imagine what the back of the building looks like where they keep the animals. I contacted the manager immediately. I see so many negative reviews not to go here for getting a dog groomed. That's not my case. My dog doesn't need grooming and I know better. PetSmart is a big box retail store, much like Wal-Mart. You should never get your haircut at Wal-Mart and you should never get your dog's fur cut at PetSmart. My uncle took his family's dog to PetSmart for the grooming, only for the family dog to come back with a severe case of fleas. He spent loads of money to have his home exterminated. I only go here to get my dog his food and maybe treats/toys. The toy section is okay, but needed. You can never go wrong with Kong Classics. I have been to actual stores for dogs before and I expect those to know what to carry and how to properly care for dogs. My beef is there isn't enough medicine or toothpastes for dogs here. As for pets other than cats and dogs, they really don't know much about those animals. The people working here are alright. They're not professionals on pets and you shouldn't expect that. I don't see the point in complaining about price, because it's the same everywhere else. I rate PetSmart 4 stars because it is what it is, a big box retail store. I don't hate it and I don't love it. My wife and I made our dog a second appointment for a puppy bath at the groomers here but never ended up receiving service. As we walked in the store, our dog Aayla was greeted by customers and staff alike, and received her usual remarks as to how pretty and well behaved she is. As we were getting ready to drop her off for her bath, the lady behind the counter asked what kind of dog she was. I replied that her father was full husky, and her mother was a malamute - grey wolf mix. Suddenly her attitude completely changed towards us and our dog. She said that they do not allow "wild animals" in the store and that they could not take our dog. Not only had we already had our dog bathed there once before, everyone had commented on how well behaved she was. This time my wife and I were insulted and treated quite rudely and denied service. Our dog is only 3 months old, so they just lost at least ten years of business from my wife and I. I would highly recommend avoiding this establishment. Tail Waggers down the road has a much better selection, and much more friendly and competent staff. read more
