Would not accept my vaccination documents given from the vet. Traveled from out of town. I told my vet I need documents for the pets to get groomed. They would not accepted it. Time wasted. It was accepted for one dog a few months ago but not the other dog today. The groomer said she "didnt feel comfortable" grooming the my other dog because the documents were not entered accurately. Will not be bringing our pet to PetSmart ever again Coralville Mall, Coralville, IA location. We've had our pet there since he was a pup. Never an issue with him being "vicious". Dropped him off on 02/21/2025 for his grooming appointment. No issues at all. Met the young lady that usually greets us and she was happy to see our pet, and he was happy to see her. 45 minutes later I get a call from "Tamisha" who we have NEVER had a appt with. She advised I needed to pick up my dog "now" because she doesn't groom vicious dogs and he tried to bite her twice. She went on to say I should be glad, because now I am getting a free wash and disconnected the call. Arrived at the store 10 minutes later, the same young lady who we dropped off to did NOT give the same story. Here words, "He seemed agitated with the dryer but did not act vicious to her". Whoever Tamisha is, she is not a good representative of your organization. We have been bring our pets to this location for almost 3 years now. I'm sorry, but after this treatment, we will not be returning, nor will be be shopping at any location again. read more

Twice I have scheduled my dog for grooming, and both times they have called the day he was scheduled to tell me the groomer called off to work. They proceeded to tell me they don't have any appointments available in the near future. This is certainly not the only time I've gotten the runaround by this Pet Smart! I went to Pet Smart for Science Diet dog food for my dogs and they had the kind I wanted in stock. I purchased the dog food along with some bones for my pooches. The staff was super nice and friendly. Also, the store appeared quite clean and organized. I liked how they offered a wide variety of awesome dog treats. Overall, great experience! read more

Worst groom my dog has ever had. When I went to pick up my dog, I was told multiple stories of why he was there for over four hours. Not sure which employee was telling the truth, but I'll never be back. I went to another pet smart and they said nasty remarks were made in his profile. terrible experience!!!!!!!!! will never go back. took my 4 mo puppy and they called an hour later saying i had to come get him because he kept throwing up!!! okay so the lead was chocking him!! and they just kept trying. if he throws up once thats your clue your abusing my puppy. then the girl lectured me on training him correctly and that no other groomer would be able to groom him!!! and they would all agree with her. i am beyond mad. before i left i told them he was a puppy and very squirmy so dont hurt him and call me if its a problem. well i have to tell you that i am about to pull my puppy from their training classes because that trainer is the one that picked out the collar for my puppy and their groomer let me know i didnt know what i was doing!!!!!!!! if you love your dog dont take it to this store!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

We went in this morning to have my older dogs, nails trimmed, and I had no problem getting in and they did a good job. It's pretty simple.

This is the most unorganized place I've ever dealt with. I had to wait over 3 weeks to get my dogs hair trimmed. Show up and I have all of his up to date vaccines ready. Goto check in and they inform me that "hand written" notes from the VET are not allowed (never was this mentioned). They also told me my dog needed a rabies vaccine and he isn't even four months old. Kade the manager hung up on me because I said the service was bull****. He wouldn't listen to my concerns and was just talking over me the entire time. Not to mention the hamster I bought that died a week later. Thank you for wasting my time, not meeting the needs of my pet or myself. read more

Came in for a nail trim for doggo. Stylist was great - took time to answer my questions, get to know the dog, and recommended services without trying to upsell me on anything. Service was quick too. Had a mistake on my bill and staff and manager were all nice and quick to fix the issue. The salon area also felt safe in terms of covid precautions- service is by appointment only and check in is one family at a time. There were some customers not wearing masks but I think that is unfortunately a problem in many places. If this is a concern for you, I would recommend planning on dropping off your dog (salon is close to entrance with better ventilation) and waiting outside. read more

I had a great experience here at the Coralville Petsmart! The staff went above and beyond for me and my family. I was try to find a new friend for my kids and needed help finding the right fit for us. Holly took the time to explain which animals would work best in our household and what my kids would enjoy. She stayed with us the whole process and answered all of our questions. She was great with the kids. You could definitely tell she cared for the animals and wanted what was best for them. When we checked out the cashier was new but made sure to give us the best customer service. She helped sign us up for sales and discount and take the time to explain the program to us. We also had help by the manger with getting everything out to the car and she told us they would love for us to come back and show us pictures of our new friends. You could tell everyone loved their jobs and cared for all the animals in the store. The kids loved the experience and honestly we have found a place to shop for all our animal needs! read more

Took the day off to take my Collie here to get a bath. Explained we don't want certain combs used on his fur since they hurt the coat so if they could just wash and dry him that would be great. That's it - never again. We have just had too many problems with this place. Charging us for nail trims for a year without telling us that it was just too hard for them to do it. I cut her nails myself now. She came home with an ear infection once. another time we found they had nicked her under her armpit. There's a new $15 late fee policy that isn't in the appointment confirmation or website. I should have rushed my dog in so we could've "on time" and then my dog could have peed all over the floor. And I should have just walked out but I downgraded the service. Plus with all the documentation, she's been turned away 50% of the time. Almost got turned away again (this is the fourth attempt in two months). Turns out I had the vet receipt and the OTHER vaccines were listed in the history. Never again. There's only one woman her whose any good at her job. I'm not giving these people money to be jerks. I'd rather just watch some YT videos and cut her hair myself and pay the vet for the gland expression. The vet doesn't look at me blandly like I'm bothering her with my pet. read more

If I could it would be a negative number. I don't know if anyone will read this but some Bradi chick was supposed to groom my dog; simple wash and cut. My dog is a twelve pound shipoo and so he's nothing but hair, I figured with the only 3 other dogs there and 2 groomers it wouldn't take that long. Well it did, we were called a little before the mall closed saying to pick up my dog around 6:30. When I arrived at 6:55 he still wasn't done. Bradi comes out and says it will be another 15 minutes. Ok maybe they got behind I figured I'd just sit and wait. But then I hear the deafening loud music coming from the cutting station room and see my dog through the window. She was using his bottom jaw to steer him around, he was whining and trying to paw her off. Then she starts yelling at him and moving him by his tail. I will never be coming back because that's just wrong to treat dogs like that. In the end we were charged $30 extra because he kept whining and trying to paw at her. Bradi didn't cut his body evenly at all, scratched him and made him become much more shy. read more

My dog was recently groomed there by Brittany. She came home and was biting at her back paws. I noticed she had three of her nails way too short. They were bleeding. I understand that these things happen every once in awhile but it was three different nails! 24 hours later one of them is still bleeding badly. I hope they train their groomers on how to cut dogs nails better. My poor pup has been in a lot of pain walking. read more

This place is terrible! I made an appointment for a bath for my dog and when I took her in with the current shot records they wouldn't accept them because it wasn't typed out by the vet! They were very rude about the whole process and when I asked about a certain shot she had, they couldn't even tell me what it was! They are very ignorant about what anything is. We take our beloved pup here for grooming every 8-12 weeks; the grooming staff is SO friendly and awesome at what they do.
