My friend took her ridiculously woolly Old England Sheepdog Max here for its first professional cut and groom when it was barely out of puppyhood, and she was full of trepidation in case he hated being bathed, and developed a grooming phobia - which would be disastrous with such a furry breed. Since my last visit this cattery has been really modernised, and now has a number of large cubical for your cat. Avril the proprietor is very friendly, and will go out of her way to make your cat feel at home. It's not my favourite cattery in the Cardiff area, but if my usual cattery is fully booked next time I travel I would have no problem leaving Fluffy (I was seven when I named her so don't judge), at this cattery again.

B was more than happy to look after him, despite never having had any experience with them. I wrote instructions on what he would need, and the first day I took him to stay with her, she told me she had also been doing research. 2 days later, I came to pick him up and his cage was spotless, he was happy, and overall I was so pleased with the service that I keep going back to her. Lovely woman too, always happy to look after him when I need her to :)

The owners are chatty and friendly and they know a lot about pet-care. There is lots of stock. I have a rabbit and this pet food store is really convenient to buy large bags of hay and saw-dust, a variety of pet foods and treats and other things like water bottles and food bowls. Trophy Pet Foods are open until 6pm each week night so its handy to call in on my way home from work and they are also open at the weekend.

Have just picked my three dogs up from Dave and Diana at Cartref - we always use this kennel (since…read more2006) and wouldn't go anywhere else ( we have recently moved to Cwmbran and still return to this kennels). Over the years our dogs have changed but the quality of care they get from the team hasn't. My one dog has medical needs and Diana ensures that the medication is given as directed so there is no impact what so ever. They get the food they like, treats and toys. We call when we are away and get an update so we know we can holiday knowing our pets are in good hands. Until recently we also used the cattery with our elderly cats needs being cared for. We have two Shar Pei's who are not the best with people - the team know this and have invested the time in getting to know them so they are like extended family. We are fortunate to holiday twice a year so knowing the high standard of care that is provided we have already secured our bookings for next year.
