There is also a disco type dark room with swirling lights, a smaller area for under 2's, and another area for playing house with dressing up clothes and a book corner. We have often gone on one of their toddler mornings and paid next to nothing to get in. They also have free drinks and biscuits for the children then, as well as a complimentary tea or coffee for an accompanying adult. Plus, they put on a small craft activity as well. You are quite welcome to stay beyond the time the session ends so we have often stayed for lunch and carried on in the afternoon. You can't bring your own food in but they have a fair choice at a fair price on offer. The best thing from an adult perspective is that they have lots of lovely comfortable sofas near the play areas so you can keep an eye while relaxing for five minutes!. Hours of adrenaline rushing family fun (for those aged ten and over) which takes aerial trekking to new extremes. Swing, climb and zip at 20ft and 40ft. High up in the trees there are over twenty different elements to conquer including a 3G swing. For the more adventurous there is an 80ft platform from which a fan descender jump can be made as well as a 1000ft zip wire. Both respectively thought to be the longest and highest in the country! Forget climbing walls - we also have tree climbing (with dry tooling for the very experienced) to heights of 65ft! Unlike most places you don't have to pay for children until they are four and yet children below this age will get a lot out of a trip here. So many fascinating animals to see and yet not vast and sprawling. Little legs will easily manage to walk round. One of the big attractions here is the tigers. There is a tiger walkway that goes above the enclosure and at one point you can be just inches away on the other side of the wire netting if they are snoozing on the platform. Also worth a mention is the reptile house. Again, you can be up close to the crocodiles and view them from above and below the water. Also the temperature in here has to be kept really warm so it is a great place to go and warm up for a few minutes if you are visiting on a chilly day, which as Thrigby is open almost every day of the year is quite likely. As well as a children's play area there is a tree top walk and a long bridge across the big pond where you can see birds of many sorts. There are monkeys and big cats too. Go round these in the afternoon and you'll see them all being fed. Also otters, porcupines, aviary plenty to see and do!
