Pettitts Animal Adventure Park

Pettitts Animal Adventure Park

(5 reviews)

If you have children up to the age of about eight I can bet that Pettitts will hit the spot for…read morethem! There are animals and fun rides such as the Flying Elephants (not real of course!), Spinning Teacups, a Pirate Ship, Merry-go-round, a mini roller-coaster, car and train rides, bouncy castle, crazy golf etc etc Our kids, aged 3 and 5 absolutely love it! It's their favourite place to go for a day out. There are a few animals to see, not loads but they do add another dimension. They usually have a petting session in the afternoon and our children have enjoyed bottle-feeding a calf and little goats, and handling a baby tortoise, lizard, snakes and ferrets as well as the more obvious choices like guinea pigs and rabbits. They also have shows in the theatre with Bubbly Bingo the Clown. May not be everyone's cup of tea but the kids are certainly entertained! Entry price is very reasonable and if you go at the beginning of the summer season then you can go again as many times as you like for the rest of the season and get in for half price (just hang on to your receipt!). After October half-term they are only open for weekends until Christmas but of course you do get to see the red-suited man himself and his reindeers! The best thing of all about Pettitts though is that there are virtually never any queues for the rides. You may have to wait five minutes in high season but that is all. Quite often my children have got off a ride, run round to the start and gone straight on again! Fantastic!

There is a fair ground, a petting zoo, as well as a good selection of animals to look at. The price is very good considering how much there is to do here.

Banham Zoo - Pallas's cat at Banham Zoo

Banham Zoo

The variety of animals at Banham Zoo and the staff's care of them is exemplary. I was primarily…read morethere to see their Pallas's cats, but was impressed by all the animals on show, especially the snow leopards and red pandas. The enclosures are well-planned, catering to both the animals' wellbeing and the visitors' experience - I've never seen giraffes or tigers so close in other zoos! That Banham have done so well with what must be tight margins speaks to their thoughtfulness and dedication. I spent some time talking to the staff, and they were all friendly, excited to answer questions, and their love for the animals shone through. There seem to be lots of activities for kids, along with lots of food options, and the gift shop had some fun merchandise. Of course I'd have loved some Pallas cat-themed merchandise, but I'm still very happy with my snow leopard keychain! Banham is a fantastic zoo, and I can't recommend it highly enough for solo animal lovers and families alike!

Set in 35 acres of parkland, the zoo is home to over 1000 species of animal. About 25 minutes from Norwich and 40 minutes from Ipswich, the zoo is well signposted off the A11 and A140 so despite being in the middle of nowhere you should have no problem finding it. The zoo itself opened in 1968 and is well established, with modern well kept pens, large range of animals and a play area for all. Its a great day out especially if you have kids.

Rye House Kart Raceway - Junior Karting Ages 8-16 Years

Rye House Kart Raceway

What I especially love about this place, is that when most places insist that a large groups books together, individual people can book to go on the track. Also they cater for ages from just three years old with tiny go-karts, to all different stages until adulthood. So younger people get to see and be around the same environment as hard core racers. This place really is for professional serious would be racing drivers, it is not just a fun place for stag do's. Cleverly though younger people do go on a different track. The track for older children and adults is really big, it seems to be much bigger than most indoor tracks. The track for younger children is smalle, but perfectly fine and definitely not too small. The staff are friendly, helpful and it is professional and well run. The only massive headache is their website which has an appalling booking system, first time I just could not work it and had to call to do my booking over the phone. This place is a massive recommendation if you want to go go-karting for your children or as an adult. We travel quite long distance to come here and believe it is definitely worth it.
