If you have fostered a pet here and its a sought breed, it will quickly go to another breeder/…read morerescue business. The fee here was about $30, the fee at the breeder is $200 and you will have to wait in line, which means you probably wont get it, because its desirable. SO, if you miss one day due to the holidays make sure and remind them that you are going to keep that pet, otherwise it will be gone.

Sometimes they don't feed the animals, they can go day(s) without food or water…read more The cones they have on the puppies and kittens can be too tight and end up choking them , I've seen it first hand. they don't take any dogs out in the runs for exercise unless a customer wants to meet with the dog. They don't take out any potty trained dogs and are the dogs are forced to hold it all day leading to illness. If they receive a cat who "isn't friendly" and obviously scared because it's in a new environment, after a week they will throw it out in their parking lot like trash. they've done this 3 times in the last few months. they've treat volunteers and employees like crap. never hearing their concerns. management is rude, careless and only in it for the money. they say they are non profit but according to Texas workforce commission they are not listed as a non profit. So they also lie. they keep people with bad attitude, who make mistakes often, and who treat customers and volunteers with disrespect. They do not care about their employees they will just fire you for no reason, without cause. without warnings, write ups, nothing. they just throw people out who are passionate and dedicated to the animals like they never mattered. they overwork their employees and only show appreciation with cold pizza and stale doughnuts. this place is a joke, the people who run it aren't genuine and don't care for anyone or the animals only themselves. If you adopt a dog or cat from this place great but I wanted you to know exactly where your money goes. it's not for the animals it's to EXTREMELY POOR MANAGEMENT'S paychecks.

We got our first doggie! Meet Reyna (aka Rey Solo). She's already the queen of the house…read more My daughter has been so lonely since we've moved here and everything was shutdown because of Covid. We knew we wanted her to socialize, and figured a dog can help her emotional state as she's been crying everyday for friends. We didn't know how to get a dog and couldn't afford to spend a lot. Enter Animal Rescue League of El Paso and Loretta. We applied to foster and adopt but the only one working and responding at this time as COVID has closed most facilities but the need is still there. I submitted my application online at their site and Loretta called and spent about 30 minutes asking me questions about what type of dog was best for our situation and family. She set up a time for us to come and I asked about 2 on petfinder but the little breeds went quickly. We went with just the notion of checking out the dogs available, and we never felt rushed or pushed. They are secure and took out temperature as we arrived. You need to ring in each time and their facility is clean and organized. All the dogs looked healthy and I saw someone cleaning out feces in the cages and each cage was clearly labeled. My kids fell in love with Shelby (temporary name) and we spent close to an hour bonding and asking questions. Everyone was kind and patient with us. The process was easy to adopt and they made sure we knew what the expectations were of owning and what we were responsible for. I would highly recommend this facility if you're looking to adopt and save a life. We felt that not only do they care about their animals, they care about potential owners as well and want the best for both of us.

Potential adopters beware. I completed all adoption requirements, provided a yard video, answered…read morequestions, and informed the rescue I was driving from Albuquerque to El Paso to adopt. After taking the day off work and driving for hours, I was called when I was less than 1.5 hours away and told I was suddenly ineligible. The owner insisted a voicemail had been left (it wasn't), and the dismissive, unapologetic tone made an already heartbreaking situation feel incredibly cruel. Denying an adoption is understandable, but allowing someone to travel hours before communicating concerns shows a shocking lack of compassion and professionalism. I hope this rescue improves its honesty, communication, and respect toward potential adopters.
