I scheduled a haircut for my 4-month-old puppy. At no point during booking was I told she does not…read moredo haircuts for puppies under 5 months. That was only mentioned once she arrived at my home, after the appointment had already been set. From the beginning of the visit, she seemed annoyed that my puppy was barking and commented that she was "loud." There was no effort to help my puppy feel comfortable or ease her into the grooming process, which is especially important for a young dog's first grooming experience. I also told her that my puppy tends to resist handling and she responded with "too bad". She proceeded to put a neck leash on her and began dragging her when she would not cooperate. I expressed concern about the use of a neck leash and the way she was being pulled, and she responded that my puppy was "fone"and that she "wouldn't strangle herself." Throughout the entire appointment, I was extremely worried about my dog's safety due to the cold, dismissive handling of a very young and anxious puppy. In addition, we were not satisfied with the result. We paid $105, and she did not provide an all over trim which was the entire purpose of booking the appointment. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this groomer. A gentle, patient approach and clear communication about services are essential when working with puppies/animals, and neither was provided here.

I don't live in the area, but I've been traveling back and forth to Traverse City since January…read moreafter both of my parents fell seriously ill just three months apart. Between caregiving, work, and constant travel, my own needs--and my pets'--have had to take a back seat. My poor Cavachon was long overdue for grooming, and after having to cancel yet another appointment with his regular groomer, I found Heather online and reached out on a whim. She responded with genuine kindness and compassion, and even stayed late on a Friday just to fit us in--knowing we wouldn't be regular clients. Not only was she incredibly accommodating, but she also did an amazing job. My pup looked (and smelled!) so much better and clearly felt great afterward. I truly can't say enough about Heather's professionalism, talent, and heart. If you live in the Traverse City area, I highly, highly recommend her!

We were looking for a place to board our dogs for a night or two while we visited Charlevoix in…read moreorder to enjoy the city without having to worry about them. I had contacted a facility closer to Charlevoix, but they wouldn't accept our dogs because they are pitbull mixes, and they recommended Meadowpond to us. I immediately requested a reservation on Meadowpond's website because any business that doesn't discriminate against our friendly pups deserves our business and support :) Anyway, the reservation process was super simple. You fill out the information on their site, and they called me about the reservation that week because we requested the reservation a month before our trip. They answered all my questions about how everything works with it being a 24/7 facility, and quickly got our dogs set up for their upcoming reservaton. Drop off was a little confusing because I didn't realize that there were two codes - one for the door into the facility and a different one for the code to their actual room. However, once that was figured out, they were in the room and ready to go in no time. They are able to share a room, and it is a good size for both dogs (45 and 55 pounds). The room also has a dog door so they could go to a private outdoor area to go to the bathroom or be outside whenever they wanted. We got to see pictures of the dogs on their FB page which was nice to know they were having fun and enjoying their time there. You are able to pick your dog up at any time during their stay, so the checkout process was as easy as us accessing the room with the code, gathering their belongings, and taking them out to the car. It was a breeze, so much so that I never even had to talk to anyone in person at the building. If we need to board our dogs in the area again, we'll definitely come back to Meadowpond!
