Since writing this review, I have moved to another state. Upon returning for a visit I discovered…read moreParker's has been purchased by an out-of-town owner. It is now called Wood's. The pharmacy and grocery staff seem to be mostly the same people, but I cannot state how well the store is now run. What I wrote previously: Number one - Parker's is the only locally owned grocery and pharmacy in Warrensburg. The owners are active in their community, doing their best to benefit the area. I support locally owned businesses if I can justify doing so. Parker's has earned my loyalty. The prices are not always the lowest; they may not always be favorably compared to prices at WalMart and BiLo and Aldi's. However, they work hard to cover all the basics and then add carefully selected additional items they know their townspeople want. Watch for sales, as usual. Heck, if you ask about any specific item you cannot locate, they find a way to begin stocking it. Their produce is likely obtained from the same sources other area grocers use, but they must be choosing the higher quality. I have never gotten inferior quality from them and I have from other places in town. I can almost guarantee they would bend over backwards to make things right if ever I was dissatisfied. They have real butchers who will cut as you desire or grind things up as you desire and probably can do more than I've thought of asking for! If a checkout line is more than 2 customers long they call for reinforcements! You cannot find THAT at the other markets. They own their own pharmacy too. You get personalized attention from a very highly qualified staff. Big ticket help in a small town is a great combination. Just about any discounts you would receive at the "big boys" of pharmacy can also be found at Parkers; they are extremely competitive. On top of all that, they have packed a tremendous amount of variety and standards into their cozy alcoholic beverage section. You will find the usual liquors, wine and beer, plus many specialty local offerings. Parker's is a great resource for local wines as well as regional wines from other countries. They also carry a very diverse selection of micro-brewed finds, many of which can be purchased as individual components to a "build your own 6-pack". That is rare in a town this small. To summarize, Parker's can satisfy your needs while making you feel appreciated. They seem to work hard at making you feel they want your business. The Julie person

When you need flowers at the last minute Hy-Vee is the place to go. My husband and I needed to get…read morea gift for a host and we were able to find their flowers quickly. There were other gifts available in the same area of the store, which was very convenient. We checked out at the self-check out and were on our way quickly.

I've shopped at this Hyvee location almost exclusively for over 6 years now. I love this location…read moreas I've always had great experiences with their employees and management. They are always eager to help you. About two summers ago I was out front of their store eyeing a set of patio furniture. The manager just happened to be out there rearranging the last set they had left and asked if he could be of assistance. I asked him about the price and if he could work with me since summer was almost over. He realized I was an older woman and he wanted to help me so he gave me a nice discount... and since I lived so close to the store he delivered the set to my home personally. He didn't have to do that, and I was thankful. Today I was shopping in their aisles online phone app and was having difficulty getting through the process that I've completed numerous times over the years without issue. It kept changing the delivery times and kept kicking me out. I ended up having to phone the store, and I spoke with the service person at the Aisles Online desk. His name was Colton, if I recall correctly. I just want it known how very pleasant, helpful, and professional he was. He took care of my issues and walked me through the actual website order process - patiently... which I rarely use to shop with (I'm used to using the phone app). He took matters into his own hands and assured me they would shop my order personally and see to it that we had our groceries delivered expeditiously. He even told me he'd fix the extra delivery charge that was charged to me due to the app not functioning properly, and kept changing my delivery window 3 times! I was very impressed with this young man. I'd say he's a real asset to that Hyvee location. I'll assume he has to be a manager, and if not, he really should be!!! They've got a real gem in that young man, and hopefully they recognize that fact and have placed him where he's of the most benefit to their firm. I also use the pharmacy at this store as well, and have always had a pleasant experience with their representatives. No complaints! I believe your experience with people in the customer service field in general have everything to do with how you approach them for aid. I certainly couldn't do their jobs... not everyone possesses a spirit of kindness and understanding as second nature. But imagine what this world would be like if they did!!!
