Self admittedly he, upon our placing a service call to this store that installed a new Jenn Air dual fuel stove into our kitchen 5 years ago. We bought this second Jenn Air down draft unit after experiencing a stove fire on our first model. Jenn Air is now owned by Frigidaire at a cost of $3,800 for the commercial model stainless steel. The stove control panel started to fail and finally quit on us. Very few appliance stores will repair them we learned. LAR and one other in Boston were the only choices. Since they installed the unit we called them. Initially, we were pleased that new owners were in place. We thought perhaps they have a chance of making it!?? Mike came out himself and looked at the stove and wrote up the two components needed to get it working again citing we might do better on EBay ordering them ourselves and he'd come back and install them. Found one part, then needed to call Jenn Air for help in locating the other. Finally, with parts in hand, we called and "John" one of the newly hired techs came out at 4 pm to complete the job and get us up and running again. He arrived, looked at the stove, said..."I don't have time to get into this now. Lemme talk to Mike and we'll get back to you!!?? (Lousy attitude). Two weeks later. No follow up. Then our son flies home for the holidays. He's a highly successful cinematographer and filmmaker and tech savvy. It's Xmas day after now. Been using a $300 countertop oven for some time now. Our son says, I bet I can fix it. So, he dials up several YouTube videos, finds a forum with details on self diagnostics. Pulls out the two bad control boards. Follows the forum posts on the same model. Swaps out the new parts. Plugs them all together. (1 hour), runs the diagnostic tests. All clear. Puts the cover plates back on. Bingo!! Working like a champ again. We were all set to buy a new model (not a Jenn Air) and drop $2,800 or so. No need. So... no follow up. Bad attitude and we would have been hosed, that's even if they could have figured what the problem was. $$$. Stay away from these guys. You're inviting trouble for yourself!! And expensive incompetence if a 32 yr old young man whose never seen the inside of a stove before can fix it using his brain!!

We had special-ordered bronze appliance handles for the GE Cafe set, and one of the refrigerator door handles had started to oxidize within a year. It didn't bother us as it was hidden but then it started to peel and the silver metal was showing through. We only use a soft damp cloth to wipe them down, never any chemicals. I gave Hugo's a call a few weeks ago to see if this was a known issue and if GE would replace. The person I spoke to on the phone took down my information and asked me to text some photos to Al and follow-up on Monday. Al said this was the first he had heard of this issue but he reached out to GE on our behalf and by Friday of that same week, we had a replacement handle on our doorstep. We definitely would not have received this service had we ordered through one of the big box stores. This is why we choose to shop with small businesses. Thank you, Al!! The new handle looks great and we will be seeing you soon...washer and dryer is on its way out.

I was replacing my washing machine and the deliverypeople inadvertently removed my dryer and brought in another dryer. I was on line at the time and not paying attention. When I noticed what had happened, they took the new dryer back out. then they took out the old machine and returned my functioning dryer to my home. When I called the store, there was little apology and I requested purchasing a downgrade of my former machine. When they returned three days later, they brought up an upgrade - NOT he machine I ordered. But what was most shocking was when I called them and asked them why they had not delivered the machine I wanted, no one knew anything about it. Then the person on the phone said "We deliver the wrong appliances all the time because the numbers on Electrolux washer and dryer are so similar." I couldn't believe he said that. I was stunned to which I said, "Knowing that, why are you not more careful?" I ended up tipping the delivery men who worked hard and the machine cost me much more than it would had I bought it from my local store. There was barely an apology about them.

I knew what I wanted when I went in so I wasn't asking for a lot of help - just reassurance that the brand I chose was reliable. She did her sales job v effectively, but when I said I wasn't interested, she didn't push. She saved me a little $ and offered good advice. I would go back to Home Depot to buy appliances based on my experience with Cheryl. (Sad to say that my experience over the years with many of the HD emplyees was not good. Lots of people who can't be bothered or don't know more than I do. This time I dealt with 2 sales women. - both were great. Perhaps HD needs to hire more women?) Two final points: why are the ratings on Yelp so low while Google reviews are glowing. For the same store?? Finally I had a hard time reaching Reading, so after 6 hours of trying I googled Home Depot Customer Service. I called an 800 number and was told my account had a red flag. I said I just got the card 6 hours ago. Person on the other end was nasty and insisted that my info was compromised. She spoke with a very thick Indian accent and was so rude I hung up. Called right back - guy with a veyr thick Indian accent ansered the call and when I told him I suspected they were a scam and not HD he said "then why don't you hang up." I did. Buyer beware.

The item they delivered, however, was too deep and did not fit the space, actually blocking one of the entrances to our unit. We also had told them that the doors had to be reversed to open on the right, but that was not how it was delivered. When advising them of the problems, Hudson asked if we had checked the dimensions of the unit they recommended; to which I replied, "Did you check the dimensions we gave YOU?" No reply. When I asked why the installers didn't call Hudson to alert them that the refrigerator was blocking the door, I was told that they "just deliver and set up." When we told them that the doors were not reversed as we had asked, they told us that they could not be reversed; despite their telling us originally that they could. Despite this being clearly their fault, when we asked them to take it back, Hudson said that we would be responsible for a 30% restocking fee. We had considered going to Small Claims Court to resolve this, and we are confident that we would have won; however, we decided that it was not worth our time to save $250. They eventually took back the refrigerator and charged the 30% restocking fee. Having spent 30 years in senior management for large and small retail companies, I can say with conviction that this was extremely poor customer service and one of the worst experiences I have ever had as a consumer. I do not like leaving negative reviews, particularly for small box stores, but given their indifference to us, I feel compelled to call out Hudson Appliance for this terrible experience.

The sales staff throughout the store were very helpful and the woman that helped us with the bed was so pleasant. But the reason that really prompted me to send this is to commend the staff that work at the climbing area. Every one of them were very kind and fun interacting with my grandsons. They were very thorough in preparing the kids. I love how they made the kids feel so comfortable and safe in their harnesses. In short you have a great group here. Comes delivery day and we get a call that they cannot deliver the mattress because it was in the truck all night and it FROZE - thus being unable to fold it in half to bring it in without breaking it. Are you kidding me? What "reputable" mattress mover leaves an item susceptible to freezing in an unheated truck in an area where overnight temperatures are often below freezing? And even if it does freeze, well just ship us another one! You're big enough to be able to do that. Nope, had to be that mattress and we have to wait till it thaws. Almost comical had we not been so inconvenienced.
