Peterloo Medical Centre has some very good doctors including the pioneering GP, Dr Mohammed Jiva MBE, who is pictured outside his own office, winning multiple awards in the press and being photographed with HM Queen Elizabeth II; the biggest problem for me is the availability of appointments.
They operate a first-come; first-served policy, which is fair enough but with appointments opening at the same time every day (in the morning), it means you can queue for hours trying to get through to the phone line, and with no real hold system in place, you'll just hear "this number is engaged", the online appointments snap up even faster and in all my years using this surgery I have been unable to find an appointment via their online system. This has been going on for years, even before the pandemic.
The location is good, being in the town centre, the 59 bus stops right outside and there is also a Boots Pharmacy attached, meaning you are able to get your medication quickly.
It would be great to see them integrate technology more with working systems that are quick, efficient and easy, they seem to be half the way there, but there's a lot of work to do.
