I loved that we all had our own cottages and in the mornings we would gather at one and have breakfast and coffee together, just catching up. There was so much to do as well. The kids had a blast in the pool and some went fishing on the dock. We played games and chatted for hours. The cottages were well stocked and comfortable. I rented the 2 bedroom and it had 2 ac units to keep the place cooled down. I only had 2 gripes during this stay: 1. The shower head in the restroom. I'm not saying that it needs to be a rainfall shower head but a regular shower head set up in the ceiling isn't working. They need to just move it where a regular shower head goes, on the wall. 2. The bug bites. I mean, I get it, it's right on the water but no amount of bug spray worked. No home remedies worked. You just had to take it. I walked out of there looking like I have chicken pox but I had a great time! Other than that, everything was amazing! Tami and Lynn were great and any questions we had they were both ready to help. I will definitely come back but it won't be in the summer, I have learned my lesson lol.

Variety of little cottages with kitchens and living rooms. Offer studio, one and two bedroom maybe even three. Fairly well stocked, plenty of towels and nice linens. Our kitchen (kitchens may very) needed things like a bowl, a can opener but had a variety of things. Only con I can think of, Advertised as full kitchens but many have a mini refrigerator. Ours opened into (& hitting ) a drawer and cupboard making it very hard to open or close. Hosts are very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Definitely a relaxing stay. But this stay there was a lack of pelicans!

What a good find…read more.. This area was not on my radar at all. We simply wanted to visit a friend in the area that was moving and she recommended staying here over the nearby hotel chains. This is a wonderful place to stay if you are looking to get away for some relaxation without all the heavy tourist activity, etc. It is quiet and has everything you need. There is a pool, beach access and other amenities, plus, there are a few restaurants (with bars) nearby. The rooms are comfy and are supplied with a fridge, microwave, dishes, etc. The hotel offers a great view whether you are on the bay side or not. If you are looking for something to do in the area then Bradenton, Tampa and St. Petersburg are nearby with a plethora of activities and sites to meet everyone's desires. Lastly, there is complimentary parking with your stay in a protected garage area assigned by the building you are staying. The check in/out staff was friendly and informative. Please note: Currently they don't attend to the rooms every day with the pandemic. However, if there is anything you need...just let them know and they will get it to you, handle it, take care of it, etc. A "con" is that one elevator was not working when we were there and the working elevator is slow. Please note, you press the button to "call it", the light may go off and the doors won't open...you need to press the button again to open or else you'll find yourself standing there wondering what is going on. Strange I know, but it is what it is. The broken & slow elevator issue can be frustrating if you are in a hurry, exhausted, etc...so be prepared! Plus, you are supposed to keep your distance from folks with the pandemic, however, some folks ignore that and pile in. With one elevator broken and the other running slow...things like this happen. Oh...and I'm still not sure why there is a "resort fee" when the amenities they have come free with other hotels, but perhaps I missed something spectacular. Personal note: Beds and pillows are ok, but if you are driving in I'd bring my own pillow. It's great the rooms have ceiling fans...woot! The shower curtain is torn and off the hooks, and both bedrooms have vertical blinds with several missing slats and one wouldn't close all the way. Upon our arrival the key wouldn't open the front door and we had to wait on the porch for 20 minutes in the cold for maintenance technician to arrive. Not a way we wanted to start off a wedding weekend. Let's hope they come clean the mold away tomorrow See photos. Worst of all...... NOT ACCESSsaBLE and nobody told us. The tub is tall and difficult to get into (for elderly or mobility impaired). Have to climb two flights of stairs to get to front door, then up another flight to get to the bedroom. While the public areas are very appealing, the furniture in our room was outdated, and it had an old smell. However, since there were eight of us in total and the other three rooms didn't have any odor, it might have just been ours. The resort offers about three to four restaurants in addition to the buffet, known as the Atlantic. Unfortunately, we were forced to eat at the buffet every night because we could never get a reservation at any of the restaurants. To make a reservation, you are instructed to use the RIU app, but there was no availability shown when we checked. The front desk staff informed us that we wouldn't see any openings at least two days in advance. You might think we could have eaten at a restaurant after two days, right? Wrong. We were unable to secure a reservation for any of the nights during our four-night stay. Even when we asked the front desk for assistance, they couldn't accommodate us or fit us in for a reservation. Based on my experience traveling to different islands, I would not recommend this hotel. I've never had to book a reservation through an app before, and I found it quite odd that after checking in, we realized we couldn't dine at a restaurant for two days. I feel they should have sent us an email 48 hours in advance to help us plan better.

Before I could even finish saying, "Good morning, i am here to check in." A man at the front just started going on and on about how check in isn't until later there is nothing that we can do and etc. i called my mom because i didn't even say anything and wasn't in the mood to go back and forward, he was extremely rude to her on the phone until she named dropped Kimmie. Then all of a sudden he had a room available for check in. Funny enough Kimme is the one who was telling my grandmother not to worry about it or him and that everything would get situated. We checked into room 101. Which smelled like mold, had a broken toilet, telephone , and several roaches. I walked to the lobby(the phone was not working) to tell them. The man who was rude earlier insisted on us staying in the room because they will fix the toilet. Kimmie however made sure he moved us to a new room. As i was walking to the front to tell the front desk about the room my grandmother let me know room service and maintenance just walked into fix the toilet without knocking. She said they told her "they didn't think anyone was in the room" which makes sense to me if check in is normally at 2. But poor communication in the staff nonetheless. Ive got to say the best thing about the place was Kimmie and the house cleaning staff. I wouldn't recommend this stay to anyone but my worst enemy.
