Peter Pane has a large selection of Vegetarian and Vegan Burgers. The waitress was friendly and we have been served quickly. The food was good. The decoration is simple and the noise level is high. read more

It was a chilly afternoon and we both decided that two pints each, some chips and a burger would be perfect. I had a burger with a chili sauce, lettuce and tomato on a sourdough bun. It was yummy and healthy! I also ordered an avocado dipping sauce, which was essentially guacamole...this was perfect for my fries! Josh got a veggie burger with tons of pickled vegetables and fries as well. We didn't sit inside so we opted for a booth that had a blanket in case it got cooler - SUPER AWESOME! Twas a good choice. :) Highly recommend this place!

Hoorah for Heinz ketchup! The best choice for a hipster burger joint. My fries were hot and plentiful and the fried fish sandwich hit the spot. Cucumber slices was a little weird, but palatable. Sometimes it's difficult to separate my bias and experience from my taste buds. Also, order the Schwarzbier. You thank me later when it cuts perfectly through your meal.

Big chunks of pork in a tasty sauce with delicious cole slaw (with apples!) on top. I ate here twice during my vacation in Dresden and would eat there all the time if I lived there. The employee was really polite. The burger wasn't your standard "American burger" which I really liked (I'm not back home in America so I want something a little different). The burger was a good size, meat patty was delicious! What made it a little different was the house sauce, it was maybe a mint vinaigrette with slice cucumbers. So good! I was pleasantly surprised. The fries who doesn't like fries? Theirs were perfect for me.

Hours: One macro level note, the hours for this restaurant are strange by U.S. standards. Lunch hours are restricted or not available on holidays. Midday is a food dessert where only cake is allowed. Dinner hours are limited. Very odd hours overall. If you're a Marriott member who is given a choice between the Euro 10 voucher and points at the hotel, take the points, otherwise expect to be frustrated by the randomness. Food: We had breakfast twice and snacks at the bar once. Breakfasts were decent. Just a buffet of average stuff you'd find in Germany including sausages, horrible bacon, runny eggs, cold cuts, yogurt, fruit, etc. We ordered some French fries at the bar, and they were pathetic. For Euro 6, the fries were not cheap, were soggy, and insanely over salted. Also, ketchup was Euro 3 for a tiny portion! Euro 3 for a condiment is absolutely insane! Service: Pathetic. At breakfast, expect to wait unreasonably long for coffee. At the bar, expect to be ignored for extended periods of time. Designing the bar to be part of the check-in counter was simply a stupid mistake from a service perspective. Also, the servers at both the restaurant and bar are simply sluggish and lackadaisical; perhaps the lack of service results from Germany being a semi-socialist state where tipping is not common. But this restaurant is worse than average for service in Germany and a downright service disaster by first-world standards.

The hotel is lovely and the breakfast area is lovely too. The restaurant is located in the middle of the building so no close breeze from the outside when the door opens, but that also means the restaurant runs on the warmer side. Dinner: we needed a snack before our show at the Opera. We went to the bar and the bartender provided us a menu and then when we ordered, she said the kitchen was closed. What is up with giving me a menu and allowing me to look and then tell me the kitchen is closed. We asked can we order something and since we had Elite status I think they made an exception. She said the kitchen will make us French fries. We said okay. She asked did we want mayonnaise or ketchup. We said ketchup. The French fries arrived and they were real potatoes and they temperature piping hot but soggy. How do you mess up French fries? We had a 10 euro food voucher since we are Marriott Elite, we asked how much to see if we had extra leftover. The French fires were 6 euros but the ketchup was 3 euros. Really? 3 euros for ketchup! Bartender just looked at us and said sorry, now she should have told us PRIOR to ordering the ketchup would have been an up charge. Staff: it is very hit and miss on service. Nobody really stood out. Be prepared to hunt down an employee if you want a refill on drinks. The first day, we were given a carafe or water and coffee so need to ask for refills. But the second day, we had to ask twice to get a coffee refill. Breakfast: It is self serve buffet style, but to get drinks like coffee, water, juice, tea, you might have to beg for a refill. Order your drinks right when sit down because you might not see someone to ask for refills again. The breakfast offers typical eggs, bacon, sausage. The eggs don't taste like real eggs, they are just okay. But hot sauce or the mushrooms added on top makes them taste better. The sausage is delicious. There is a waffle station and i recommend them, they are very good. The machine has a button that you must push to activate the machine for the waffle to cook. A nice guest assisted me because I poured my batter and walked away. The waffles take 3 minutes to cook. You might want to add two cups of batter into the machine, there were empty spots in my waffle. The yogurt is delicious with added fruit and nuts. There is a real honeycomb that is nice fresh honey, but is can be hard to scoop.

After waiting a short while to order our drinks arrived quickly and our appetizers arrived shortly thereafter our main dishes must have been forgotten about as it was probably 45 min before they arrived(after we were finished with appetizers); someone else picked up our appetizer plates and then must have asked about our food because they delivered our chicken and fish n chips shortly after. Chicken covered in ham, tomatoes and cheese needed seasoning- salt and pepper could go a long way it seemed as if the ham, cheese and tomato was meant to season the chicken. Potatoes were well cooked and the salat on the plate i wasn't aware of when I ordered as I ordered a side salat as my appetizer, it was well dressed but had huge pieces of lettuce and cucumbers but nothing my knife wasn't able to fix. Hubby had fish n chips and was a bit surprised to see the skin still on the fish and batter was mushy on the inside including a few pin bones. Overall said it was okay. Doubtful we would come back here as there are so many places to choose from and while we understand European service is on the casual side of things we certainly didn't expect to spend so long here especially for a mediocre experience.
