Love Marti & Liz Shies! I can always depend on finding exactly what I need when I am in a pinch…read more It's a boutique clothing, purse and shoe store. They have a great selection of shoes at discounted prices. From casual sandals, sneakers, boots to dressy shoes for a black tie affair, you can find it there, If you are lucky, you can find a pair of designer shoes at a real bargain. Tney have all sizes. Inventory changes frequently so stop by often. I needed some "bling" shoes for a sneaker ball event. I was able to find the Betsy Johnson bling sneakers for half the price I would have paid at the local department store. I also picked up a couple pair of sandals. The service is very friendly and staff is super helpful with finding shoes. I highly recommend if you are looking for new shoes.

Earlier this year, I walked into a large display of party-affiliated socks, shirts, and other items. It felt out of place and made me uncomfortable--especially since it didn't seem to represent all viewpoints. I told myself I wouldn't return. When I tried it again recently, the same thing happened. To my surprise, a younger employee walked in and immediately removed the display, saying, "I told them not to put this stuff out. We are not doing politics." Moments later, an older employee at the register loudly told her to "put it back." The tension between staff was uncomfortable and, honestly, embarrassing. I shop here for shoes, handbags, and clothes--not politics. I applaud the employee who tried to redirect the focus back to the customer experience. Unfortunately, this incident left a bad impression. I hope Marti & Liz will take this feedback seriously and prioritize creating an inclusive and neutral shopping environment where all customers feel welcome.

From the first hello to her genuinely listening to my husband's struggle, she was a smart and calming person. I was in need of new running shoes after completing my half marathon as a "gift/reward" to myself…read more Note that I'm no runner nor would I consider myself to be one. However, after doing a brief research of nearby places to visit to get advice and pointers on shoes - Fleet Feet was the place I ended up deciding on visiting. I guess it was my high expectations based off of reviews of others, but my visit wasn't all that "amazing/great." I felt like the person that "helped" me during my scheduled visit didn't really help much. I was looking for more of a conversation between the employee so that I can make a more informed decision. By the end of it I walked away with a new pair of shoes that I've been testing for roughly a week and a half, and honestly I'm not moved by it. I felt like my decision was rushed and that no real feedback or guidance was provided. I also wouldn't consider myself as a hard or complicated customer/client - I just asked questions but felt like I was pulling teeth. Because of this, I'll have to revisit for a return and look for an exchange. Felt like my time was wasted but maybe it's just me?

Though the buyer tends toward neutrals, her selection is nowhere near bland. The eye she has for pieces that drape well and flatter a variety of silhouettes is admirable! Fore, I love hopping in from time to time just to see what's on offer, but I also know that it is a destination for a special event. For example, today I hopped in with an upcoming reunion on my mind. In and out in 30 minutes with several dresses, a top and a pair of earrings for about $400. And let's talk about those earrings! The accessories are incredible! Gorgeous jewelry, fun handbags and lovely sunglasses. Her shoes are a highlight! Beautiful boots, slides, sneaks and heels. No, these aren't discount prices. But they are high quality, gorgeous clothes and very reasonable prices. And they are unique! You're not going to see these pieces on everyone else at that party. You're not going to be dressed like every other mom at the pick-up line. You're not going to run into a woman dressed like you at the bar. You're going to look one of a kind, which is worth its weight in those gorgeous gold earrings you simply must buy to pair with the outfit!

Not only did they assist us in finding clothing and proper shoe sizes they made recommendations of other boutiques and restaurants in Nashville for us to try. The two main ladies assisting us were named Lindsay and Whitney. Both absolutely stunning and timelessly dressed. I found the perfect black dress and they offered to ship my item to my home address so I didn't have to lug it around all day or run the risk of not having enough room in my suitcase when we leave town. The shoe selection truly had something for everyone. They also have delightful jewelry unlike any pieces I've seen anywhere else. Any items purchased from here will make you the best dressed for any occasion!! Do yourself a favor and make time for this gem!

The place was exceptionally short staffed and the employee lacked any sort of hustle for taking care of customers. She roamed around the store, never really completing a task. At one point I waited 20 minutes for her to retrieve a new size. This was further complicated by the fact that I was buying sneakers. Their high-end kicks come with one of three orthotic inserts, and the included insert varies depends on the shoe. So, it's not like I could just plow through a bunch of boxes of shoes on my own. I had to wait for the associate's attention in order to try on each pair. And she was awful at explaining which insert went with what. So, I played a lot of solitaire and brooded. Why did I even allow myself to be a part of this waiting game? Said sneakers are super duper comfortable. I mean, walking on clouds, custom fit comfy. So, I endured horrible and sloppy service to procure perfect tennies. Do I recommend TWC? Yes. But you have been warned. It'll take a while.

What had prior to 2021 been the abandoned Nashville Convention Center is now a modern mixed use development that has brought life into Broadway west of the "Honkey Tonk Highway" stretch. It features a shopping mall, Assembly Food Hall, a retail scape fronting Broadway, The Place at Fifth, the National Museum of African American Music, and the towering landmark 501 Commerce Street Building. It has brought an Apple Store, Sephora, Shake Shack, Hattie B's, Prince's Chicken, and more to Broadway. On my vacation, I had caught it's act several times. The one sight that always stood out was the consistent long line to Hattie B's. My visits here included Assembly Food Hall, Prince's Fried Chicken, the Twelve Thirty Club, visit the Apple Store, and walk around. My impression was that the stores and restaurants are reasonably priced. Although the restaurants and stores provide decent value, to me the greatest value here was the photo opportunities. The focal point of the development, the L-shaped mall which bridges Broadway with Rep. John Lewis Way gives the gift of a prime photo spot for the 1) Ryman Auditorium where the original Grand Ol Opry performed and 2) Bridgestone Arena. The restaurants, especially in the Assembly Hall provide an opportunity to photograph food. I recommend the Assembly Food Hall Bridge to photograp the historic Ryman Auditorium. Additionally , I learned that if I stood on Broadway by the Bridgestone Arena, that Fifth Plus Broadway made a dynamic photo showing modern and historic Broadway, with the modern Fifth Plus Broadway architecture including towers contrasting with the historic Honkey Tonk Highway streetscape. As far as safety, I felt safe. The one annoyance that I saw were street hustlers at the Rep. John Lewis Way entrance aggressively bothering passer-by. During all of my visits here it was busy. There is a safety in numbers. On the subject of safety, the hot and humid summers need to be taken into account. On a few occasions we had escaped the excruciating heat in the air conditioned Assembly Food Hall for a couple of hours. I rate Fifth Plus Broadway "Four Stars." It is doing a remarkable job extending the lively Broadway restaurant and entertainment scene beyond the western edge of the Honkey Tonk Highway.
