Initially I was only seeking a periodontists care. I was seen within the week by Dr. Fuller. She made suggestions and a treatment plan with many options so I could choose what I was comfortable with and could afford. I didn't feel pushed or rushed and she was SO kind and patient with ALL of my questions and concerns. During my follow up consultation, I knew I would also need my wisdom teeth pulled. (I had been told that since I was 16 but was too nervous about the recovery). I was able to meet with Dr. Bryant the same appointment. He was also just delightful! I have bad dentist anxiety but he was just so kind and lighthearted. His temperament made me feel comfortable enough to add an additional 4 teeth being pulled to my treatment plan. Molly I believe, was the dental assistant helping them. She was very likable and personable and remembered details about me from our previous appointment that made my experience less intimidating. On the day of my actual surgery, I met Daphne. I believe she was also a dental assistant, who prepped me for surgery. She was GREAT! She was friendly, comforting, and fast. I felt more confident and less nervous because of how friendly and clearly efficient everyone was around me. In total, I had 4 wisdom teeth pulled, an additional tooth pulled (the broken one), a bone graft, as well as a deep cleaning/scaling of my teeth. All in the same surgery. I am known to have a low tolerance for pain but healing took less than a week! 2 days of minimal swelling and only Tylenol and ibuprofen necessary. A testament to their skill no doubt. It should also be noted that the front desk staff and woman heading the financial aspect of my surgery, were extremely helpful and courteous! While I could tell they were VERY busy, they still were so attentive, kind, and answered all of my questions. Overall I could describe my experience with them as friendly, professional, skilled, and successful. Dr. Frye at Lakeside Oral Surgery extracted all 4 of my wisdom teeth. It was a very good…read moreexperience. I went in several months in advance for a consult and she prepped me for what to expect. On surgery day I was quickly escorted into the operating room and given nitrous oxide to calm my very anxious nerves. (Hey, you don't wait until your 29 to get your wisdom teeth out unless you have a major avoidance issue). Then the nurse started my IV, Dr. Frye asked me some questions, and I quickly drifted off to sleep. I woke up four times less wiser but well cared for by my hubby. Dr. Frye met with him to give him an update and make sure he understood my aftercare instructions. I was sent home with lots of meds and very detailed instructions. Unfortunately I had a very rough recovery. My teeth were not the easiest to remove and I had a very swollen and sore jaw. As a result I had a terrible time eating which makes for an upset stomach when taking pain meds and antibiotics. Lakeside was never more than a phone call away though and always gave me advice and empathy. 10 days after surgery I developed an infection. I woke up on the Friday morning of a predicted Snowpocalypse and knew I had to be seen ASAP. I called the office and was greeted by the answering service who told me the office was closed due to weather until Monday. I told them it was an emergency and they said they would have the on-call doctor, Dr. Cowden, call me. He called within a few minutes and met me at the office within the hour. I was so grateful. He provided me with the very necessary treatment and sent me home with meds. Within 48 hours I was much better, thank goodness. My complications didn't stop there, but throughout my entire recovery Dr. Frye was available and saw me frequently- almost on a weekly basis. We tried various treatments and eventually decided time was what I needed the most. I'm glad she trusted her instincts because she was right! Never once though did she allow me to panic or suffer, she always reassured me and comforted me. She is exactly what I would hope for in a doctor and has fine tuned her craft. I can't recommend her and Dr. Cowden enough.

When you read my true account of what happened, you will know why I have replaced it with this one. If it were possible, I would give him a NEGATIVE 5. Many months ago, I scheduled an appointment with him because I needed gum grafting on two teeth. My first appointment had to be canceled due to icy weather, so I rescheduled. The day before my then initial consultation, his office called to reschedule because he was not going to be in the office. First red flag, but I made another appointment. After seeing him, I felt confident in my decision (he was referred by my dentist) because he was very nice, took time to explain in detail the procedure, and he seemed to be a caring guy. Every member of his staff was also impressive. My grafting took place on March 9, 2023. In addition to the grafting of two teeth, I had another tooth with a receding gum, but he said it could not be grafted but he could do a "deep clean" on that tooth and I agreed. This appointment was on a Thursday. The script for pain meds was one I am allergic to but was told to take Benadryl with it and I would be fine. That was not the case, so I called his office the next day, which was Friday. Dr. Poore was supposed to be in that day, but was not, so I had to go the entire weekend in pain because he did not call in the prescription. Red flag number two. Nineteen days after the procedure (a Tuesday), I started having a slight pain in the tooth that he had done the deep cleaning on. Each day after, the pain got slightly worse. We were in a different state on vacation, so there was no way I could pop in to see him. By the time we got back home, it was Saturday evening and I was no longer able to chew as the tiniest amount of doing so sent me into orbit. Sunday morning, I called his office voicemail and got his personal cell number. We texted back and forth. He said he would work me in the following day, Monday, and he would assess, call in pain meds and antibiotics. I called his office at 8:15a.m. to see what time I could come in. I was told he WAS NOT coming in that day! Even with the pain meds I had, there was NO relief in my tooth abscess pain throughout the weekend and it was getting worse. In addition, my jaw was swelling up with infection and I could feel it spreading to my ear and throat. They rescheduled me for Wednesday. As I was in the worst pain of my life, I went to my dentist on Monday, and she had to pull the tooth. Now, this deep clean has cost me many days of horrendous pain, the loss of my tooth, time off work and life, and $5000 to have an implant. On Tuesday, I called to cancel my Wednesday appt. with Dr. P. Message not received, so they called me early Wed. to let me know that he WAS NOT going to be in! Are you kidding me?! To their knowledge, nothing had been done yet, but no matter, he was not going to be in the office to help me. Save yourself a ton of pain, money, and time. If you value any or all of these things, find another periodontist.

My current dentist advised me I should go back to Dr. Pitt to perform the repair. My current dentist indicated this repair should be performed AT LITTLE OR NO COST. This was not the case! Dr. Pitt removed the broken screw, re-cemented the implant and removed much of the porcelain on the upper part of the crown so it would fit properly. His office manager indicated, because I no-longer was Dr. Pitts patient, I would be charged $774 for this procedure and it was unlikely my dental carrier (Delta Dental) would reimburse them for any of the procedure and if they did, they would credit back to me their reimbursement. Delta did pay Dr. Pitts office $214 for the procedure. It has been almost 2 months now and I have yet to be credited by Dr. Pitts office. I contacted his office a few days ago to ask why. They indicated the office manager was not in the office that day and they indicated the manager would contact me the following Monday. THEY DID NOT CONTACT ME. I drove to the office to meet with them and they indicated a reimbursement credit for around $175 was processed today. I asked them why they didn't submit to me the entire $214 Delta submitted to them? Their explanation did meet with my approval and now, to make things worse, all the enamel is starting to fall off the crown! It is quite obvious this office cares little about its past (maybe even their present) patients. It appears, all they are doing is providing their services, WITH NO GUARANTEE, in search of the almighty dollar! As a result, I will no-longer recommend, to any of my friends, the services of Dr. Pitt or his staff.
