Hotel Chocolat is a British chain of cocoa bar-cafés with locations all over the UK as well as in Denmark (here in Copenhagen), Japan, Hong Kong, and New York. They have a variation of chocolates made from cacao beans from Ecuador to Indonesia and a café that serves all kinds of mostly chocolate-y drinks and desserts. I got the "Ice Cream of the Gods", which is a very soft serve in a cone and the option for either a chocolate or a salted caramel drizzle. And it's so GOOD. I was unable to pay for our meal because my device was taken, yet the restaurant insisted on charging us the full price, which we observed another patron pay. They did not contact the police or report the theft. Instead of providing assistance, we were asked to leave while the thief was allowed to walk away, despite three witnesses confirming he was the one responsible. Afterward, we approached the police, who informed us that such treatment of customers is unacceptable and raises serious safety concerns. I strongly advise potential diners to reconsider their choice of restaurant. While the food may be enjoyable, the treatment of customers left much to be desired.
