I rather like all the red inside too, but perhaps that is just me. It is very much its own space, and not like any of the modern buildings today. Parking is free, which is a rare find in Dallas these days too. There are concessions, wine, soda, cookies and such, which you can take into the theater with you. The air conditioning was icy cold, which I was happy for! For those that got too chilly, right in the back are blankets available to use! How charming. I'd say every view is a good one here too, no bad seats. I found the chairs more comfortable than the ones at the Wyly Theatre for sure. The play itself was well done, good casting, especially Colonel Brandon, though he did make me think - Willoughby who? *fans self* The revolving stage was a little distracting, but the play itself was lovely as Jane's work almost always is. The actors bounding up the stairs and into the audience was unexpected for this type of play, but worked well, and many of the lines were delivered to much laughter. Austen fans shouldn't miss it!

Staff accompanied us in the elevator to our respective floor. This show had signature drinks and concessions near the elevators. There's a restroom on the floor with the stage. Blackbox feel. Unfortunately one of the security guards working was extremely rude, they just continuously yelled "keep walking". There were no instructions on people with bag go here, people without bags go here, so it just seemed like the line was going one by one. Then one of the people in my group had to stop at the table to get their bag inspected and I was trying to stick with our group as to not get lost and like I said there were no instructions given to go a specific place so I was waiting behind them and one of the security guards yelled in my face to "keep walking" and looked at me like I was an idiot for not reading his mind and figuring out what he wanted me to do. All the other security guards were very nice and had CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS for what to do so idk if this guy missed the memo but I think that situation could have been handled a lot better without having to scream at people who are trying to figure out what to do and where to go.

The only way we could see was to perch on our seat, lean forward with our elbows on the wooden railing and peer down. Very disappointing. We paid $380 for four seats. The picture attached is what I could see if I sat with my back to my seat. Sitting in my seat I could only see the people on the other side of the venue. The performance was down below. $380. Not acceptable. If I perched on my seat and leaned over the edge of the balcony, I could partially see. Such a disappointment not to be able to fully enjoy such an exceptional performance.

I was aware of burlesque performances before I was guided to the Lollie Bombs but I always thought…read moreof them as pre-historic strip shows where little was revealed. This may have been the case in the Prohibition but the modern Lollie Bombs bring a whole new element of cool sexiness to this type of performance. Let's be clear this burlesque performance rarely reflect your grandfathers strip experience. These women are bad-asses with cool tattoos, suggestive moves coordinated with speed metal tunes, and a biting sense of humor. They come in all shapes and sizes but are damned fun and sexy all at once. Ok, you may think this is some sort of man-centric lust-fest but I am here to attest that the audience is half full of women, hooting and hollering as the performers remove their elaborate costumes to their pasties. Think Flashdance meets 9 1/2 weeks with a side dish of Marilyn Manson. The Lollies play many local events but often appear that the Pocket Sandwich theater at 11pm on weekends.
