    This store smells absolutely terrible, there's flies in the Guinea pig cages, the cages are also way too small and Guinea pigs need 80% hay for their diet and they have none.

    When we first found our kitten we brought him here and a sweet older lady employee helped us find everything we needed for our new addition. She helped us get a crate, litter box, scoop, ear wipes, and most importantly she showed us something called Capstar for fleas!!!! That was over a year ago(11/2015). But because of her we always come to this pet store for essentials for our cat and dog. They have a nice aquatic fish selection. There is a cat adoption section near the entrance, dog training section, and they do grooming. They have a HUGE selection of cat foods and dog foods, some a bit pricy. I often get emails from PETCO and I came in today to redeem my free Applaws cat food item, some dog food, treats, & a new "inescapable" cat harness/bungee leash. My favorite part of this store besides the cat adoption corner is the Dog Treat Bar! Really nice to be able to pick and choose what and how much and only pay for that. Oh and bring your pooch! Everytime I bring my Zeauxoui, employees shower her with love and treats. Great job PETCO.

    I normally come here for my puppy needs and everyone is professional and friendly. I have never had any issues until they told me about the Vital Care membership. It was told if I sign up for I believe $20 I will get a free bag of dog food, a percentage off of his vaccinations for that visit and he gets free teeth cleaning and nail trimming for free. Sounds good right! Well I took him for his first teeth cleaning and nail trimming and was charged $5 for nail buffing. It was never said that if you choose buffing it will be a fee while nail cutting was free. It was not about the money but the lack of information. I decided to cancel the membership only to be sent a email telling me that I am in a year membership per my agreement. WHAT! This was NEVER explained. I was told I can cancel any time and now I have to email them to cancel only to recieve a email about a reason for wanting a cancelation for them to decide if they will cancel my membership or not!. This has put me in a discomfort and now I feel that all of this was simply for a sale. This had now made me question if I would want to spend another dollar here for the lack of detail and information. Then I was approached about a dog trainning class which I was semi interested in since my pup has been behaving a little so it was said it was $25. I suppose to have a 45 minute trainning session but all we did was sit and talk. I didn't know that my $25 was towards just talking but it was fine because I really like the woman. I have seen her often and spoken to her often as well. She even nicknamed my puppy which was cute now everyone calls him that lol. I didn't know that the cost going forward was $149 until I saw the receipt. It was told when I called about this that it is a 6 week class, once a week for a hour to teach him to sit, stay ect. I did not know that this is what I am paying for when I could just watch a youtube video on that. I thought the class was based on helping with correcting his behavior . He already know how to sit, stay and leave it. I was extremely disappointed on how I felt I was lead on so I asked for a refund and then a manager keep asking why and hesitated about my refund, the next manager told him just do it as if it was an inconvenience. If they had simply explained the details to the membership and training class they would not run into issues of customers wanting a refund or cancelation. These two situations within a few days apart has now made me feel as if it is all about a sale and giving proper information. I was no satisifed at this point. I don't know if I would continue to shop here. I am highly disappointed.

To condense my pet's traumatic experience - The business was apparently experiencing a staff shortage, knowingly attempted to trim both of my dog's nails in an unsafe manner, and did not inform me of any injury. After driving the 2 miles back to my home, my elderly dog was bleeding profusely and the source of the blood was challenging to find. An emergency vet visit revealed his front canine tooth was shattered and there was a large laceration on his tongue. Per my vet, this injury occurs with impact. Only after 3 conversations did the groomer reveal she had both my dogs on an elevated table alone at once and my senior dog "may have" hit his face or head because the groomer was 'worked up'. I could explain in depth the attitude of the groomer, the lack of professionalism from the business, and the troubling way this was mismanaged but the details aren't necessary. I hesitate to post the pictures of his injuries because they're gruesome. In the end I was put in touch with their insurance company as requested for reimbursement for my dog's extensive vet bills and I believe that his vet services will be reimbursed. That being said, this in no way accounts for an unavoidable injury for Todd. I thought I was going to lose him given the volume of blood and his age. I would not bring any animal to a business that operates with such blatant disregard for the safety of the pets in their care.
