I'm extremely disappointed with how Petco handled my grooming appointment. This isn't about a missed time slot -- it's about misleading service listings, poor internal communication, and zero accountability when issues are escalated. I booked "The Works" grooming package for my dog Ruby online -- a bath, de-shed, and haircut -- as clearly listed on Petco's website. After booking, I received a message from a local team member saying they couldn't perform the service today and offered to reschedule. No problem -- I said yes, as long as we could still get the full package I booked. Then came the real issue: She followed up saying she didn't realize I needed a haircut -- even though I booked it through Petco's own system. After that, I was told no haircut appointments are available until June 27. That information should've been reviewed and disclosed before contacting me. Why offer an alternative date if you're not confirming whether you can actually fulfill the booked services? I then called Petco corporate to file a formal complaint. They couldn't reach a store manager or supervisor -- no one answered. This clearly isn't just a local glitch -- it's a systemic failure in how Petco handles scheduling, staffing, customer communication, and escalation protocols. Petco, if you're going to offer professional grooming services online, then: 1. Make sure your system reflects actual availability. 2. Review the customer's service request before calling them. 3. Don't offer new dates unless you've confirmed you can provide all requested services. 4. Ensure your store leadership and corporate support teams are actually reachable. I'm not just frustrated -- I'm concerned. If this is how customer service is handled for something as simple as a dog grooming, I'd hate to think how more serious issues are managed. we went to the Petco on Sunday morning, December 3, 2023. I'm not overly impressed with the availability of items that they have. It seems a lot less than what it used to be. I was up towards the checkouts looking at some Christmas items when I overheard a very loud employee speaking to another employee about how he " well, that was quick, " "tested"and the other Employee said "you mean like a year ago?" and he said (with a laugh)" no I tested positive, it's probably from one of the sick customers that came in here that shouldn't have been in here."I approached the check out to purchase my items and I stood back as far as I could from this Employee. He continued to belittle Covid and the fact that it really doesn't matter anymore and nobody's going to have to be on a ventilator for it. You know it's just like a cold is what he said. I expressed that he is so far from the truth and how dare he be at work if he is sick because now he just potentially spread it to customers . I am very disappointed in this store and will probably not go there and will probably stop even my reoccurring shipments. read more

3rd day in a row to come in here and waste my time. Okay, so the first day was mid afternoon and was told groomers had already left. I'm just trying to get my dogs nails trimmed. No hours posted for groomers. I was told they will be in the next day. So show up next day at 9am. Oh sorry, no groomers here today, but will be in tomorrow. I specifically asked, even though tomorrow would be the 4th of July. I was told; YES. So I just go in this morning at 9:40. Was told; no groomers today. I complained, because I specifically asked yesterday. Sorry, I don't know what to tell you. They're trying to get a specific schedule for the groomers with hours posted. You can try again tomorrow. Well, guess what, I won't be in town tomorrow. So disappointed with Petco right now. Wasted my time and my gas to keep coming here. read more

Great grooming services at a competitive price! Before finding Petco grooming services, I used several different small, local groomers and just didn't ever get what I had expected as far as the doggie hair cut/style. Stephanie is the BEST groomer my dog (Meckah) has ever had. We've had 2 appointments now and both times Stephanie has done an excellent job! This Petco offers Saturday and Sunday appointments which is convenient and fits my busy schedule. They offer extended services as well, like nail buffing and teeth brushing. I wish I would of thought of using Petco years ago for my grooming needs. Did I mention Stephanie is awesome? She has met and exceeded all of my expectations as a groomer! I began as a Petco client years ago, I was very happy with the grooming salon. So to my dismay when the salon changed staff (multiple times) I wasn't sure what I would do. Now, I'm thrilled to say the salon is back ! Tarah is wonderful. She's kind, caring, engaging with my dog, and really gives a great pampered pooch grooming. It's so important to find a groomer that is professional, safe, and caring. I would highly recommend Tarah. If you have had issues in the past with this Petco location, which there has been a number of chances, I would suggest giving the grooming salon another chance. I'm highly satisfied with Tarah and will be back on my regular program. Five stars for sure !!! read more

The wife and i recently went to our local petco just to get some anti itch spray..we walked in...grabbed what we thought would be best and went to the checkout....this was on a weekday evening and if was really slow at the store, June 30th...employees were busy cleaning and dusting off shelves, two employees were within 6 feet of the checkout counter, one young man was a ladder up high, a female was on the floor....We stood there for almost 5 min, she looked at us and still would not come over, then more people approached the counter and finally she looked bothered, but came to check us out...I nearly walked out..totally unacceptable service to wait that long and you see that we are waiting...She didn't apologize or anything......If customers are treated this way, why should they come back?.. read more

I'll start with the few things that are good: The staff are friendly, sometimes hard to track down for assistance, but nice. The store is usually clean, and they have quite a bit of merchandise. The CONS: High price. They are pretty expensive. Mis-treatment/poor health of animals. I'm a small animal lover. I have been since my youth. I understand that bad things can happen to good places, but this is simply not the case. My roommates and I adopted a hamster some months ago. Upon brining her home, we noticed she was showing symptoms of the commonly fatal ailment "wet tail" We called Petco, and we took her to the vet the next day. They prescribed the cheap antibiotics and she passed away within a few days. I then returned to the store to get another hamster. Upon the recommendation of the staff, I adopted a hamster that was supposed to be more hearty than the others, however within a month in IDEAL living conditions the little gal passed away, also. My fiancee is a rat lover of sorts, and we have also purchased three rats from the store. All three of them required antibiotics. Two of them made it, but the third passed away within two weeks. We take good care of the animals we adopt and we don't take the responsibility of caring for these little animals lightly, so it is certainly not neglect on OUR part. Also: Often on their floors there are sick animals in cages with other sick animals. It is sad, to go see the little furry critters and find one with gunky eyes or wet-tail contaminating its cage mates. If you want to adopt a small animal, I would highly recommend going to another store! read more

Bought a ferret from there recently and she is mean and bites won't engage in play what so ever just attacks your fingers. The major problem I have is that she has no clue what her litter box is and I understand they shouldn't really know what it is but they should have one in the ROUND glass tank they are in at the Petco and they should naturally know not to poop multiple times on and right next to her food bowl and in her bedding. The staff that was on clock couldn't tell me anything at all about a ferret I asked for her marshal birth certificate and the lady told me what's that? A marshal? I've never heard of that before? They couldn't tell me if they were male or female "I don't even know how I would tell" is what they said to me I would not go back except to return my purchase!!! -2 stars. The manager was very nice the next day when I called and he apologized to me for his team "dropping the ball" glad I drove 2 hours and spend 250$ for nothing! read more
