I'm extremely disappointed with how Petco handled my grooming appointment…read more This isn't about a missed time slot -- it's about misleading service listings, poor internal communication, and zero accountability when issues are escalated. I booked "The Works" grooming package for my dog Ruby online -- a bath, de-shed, and haircut -- as clearly listed on Petco's website. After booking, I received a message from a local team member saying they couldn't perform the service today and offered to reschedule. No problem -- I said yes, as long as we could still get the full package I booked. Then came the real issue: She followed up saying she didn't realize I needed a haircut -- even though I booked it through Petco's own system. After that, I was told no haircut appointments are available until June 27. That information should've been reviewed and disclosed before contacting me. Why offer an alternative date if you're not confirming whether you can actually fulfill the booked services? I then called Petco corporate to file a formal complaint. They couldn't reach a store manager or supervisor -- no one answered. This clearly isn't just a local glitch -- it's a systemic failure in how Petco handles scheduling, staffing, customer communication, and escalation protocols. Petco, if you're going to offer professional grooming services online, then: 1. Make sure your system reflects actual availability. 2. Review the customer's service request before calling them. 3. Don't offer new dates unless you've confirmed you can provide all requested services. 4. Ensure your store leadership and corporate support teams are actually reachable. I'm not just frustrated -- I'm concerned. If this is how customer service is handled for something as simple as a dog grooming, I'd hate to think how more serious issues are managed. Do better.

The store is bright, friendly, and immaculately clean. There's a picture window into the grooming area, where you can watch groomers pampering dogs in specialized baths. There's nothing kennel-like about the Soggy Dog Salon. Today, I accompanied my grandmother, picking up her lapdog after a four-hour engagement. I saw three other small dogs emerge from their grooming, happy and energetic. As we left, Diane, the co-owner, greeted my grandmother and her dog by name. My grandmother's little lhasa apso was trimmed, happy, and wearing a cute neck scarf. (These scarves are a trademark of the Soggy Dog Salon--take a look at the photos on the site to see what I mean. http://soggydogsalon.com/ These scarves vary by season and holiday, with special scarves for Halloween, Christmas, etc.) What a delightful business! I appreciate how they encourage their clients to adopt pets from the animal shelter. I'm amazed that Salina is large enough to support such a place. If I had a small dog, I would certainly schedule appointments here. Incidentally, appointments are recommended. They and well worth the cost, considering that regular visits every 8 weeks might amount to only $5 a week.

I trust Dr. Misty Gore and the rest of the staff with my dogs whenever I need any kind of service for my dogs: boarding, surgery, medical, vaccinations. And their fees are so reasonable compared to other veterinarians! Example: I recently moved to Long Beach CA for 3 months and one of my dogs started gaining a lot of weight and losing hair and just didn't seem herself. The vet in CA WANTED TO CHARGE ME $400 for a blood test and when I refused that, said that it was just seasonal alopecia and it would go away on its own. Not only did Dr Gore make time to consult with me over the phone about my concerns for hypothyroidism-like symptoms, but when I got back to Salina and we did a whole panel of labs for Senior Wellness (for about $100) and we finally got the correct diagnosis of hypothyroidism and now we can get our dog the treatment she needs.
