My dog acquired fleas & got razor burned in 3 places. They've gone downhill. I used to recommend them.

This PetCo store was attended for no other reason than it was Black Friday and they had some pretty good deals available. It was nice to be greeted at the door by staff as this is something I believe is a dying trait. They guided us to what we were looking for and came around a few times asking if we had any questions or needed additional assistance. It was not as though the store was vacant of patrons, it was quite busy for a pet store and we still received impressive service. The store was clean, well stocked, and the staff were polite and knowledgeable. Hands down the best experience I have ever had at a commercial pet supply store. read more

Petco Quincy IL Roscoe's Grooming: Yesterday, 12/6/22, we took our Shitzu dog, Roscoe, to Petco for grooming. A few years ago we had taken him there, and the grooming was terrible. We decided to try them again starting in June of this year. The results are excellent. We cannot be more pleased. The groomer the last few times has been Sarah, but before that we had others who also did good work. Sarah has been nothing short of excellent, we now request her. They have an excellent new facility in Quincy, do the grooming in a short time, very caring, sends frequent reminders of upcoming appointments, staff is very friendly, appointments are easy to make, well organized, and do very good work. The pricing is not necessarily the cheapest as it cost us approximately sixty dollars. We take Roscoe for grooming about every five weeks. In conclusion, Quincy Petco may be a bit pricey, but it is well worth it. Highly recommended! read more

My wife took our 2 yr old lab for a bath and nail trim yesterday for $75 and neither were done properly. The groomer complained our lab didn't like anything so she just did a half assed job. Will never go there again. read more

Friendly staff and fast service. Grooming and dog training is top notch :-) Fast check out lines and the associates are very knowledgeable read more

I saw a lot of low reviews but they were based on grooming. I wouldn't take our puppies to a chain pet store for grooming. But only take them to local groomers. My review is based on the products that they carry. The Canine home baked treats are great and our dogs love them. Also Emily was wonderful in checking us out plus the harnesses we got there for walking out two were great. read more

Lately I've been in this petco a lot!! Staff has been so kind and helpful. They have very good customer service and their employees do care a lot. Feels non-judgmental and just has a friendly atmosphere. They have had lots of good deals going on, and the employees are there to help with what they can. The animals in lots of pet stores can be sick or in bad condition but from what I've seen they've had clean tanks, birds look nice, reptiles don't seem like they aren't getting their nutrients, rodents aren't sick. I saw a gecho stuck awhile back and they immediately rushed over and took the little guy back to quarantine him and make sure he's doing okay. I was happy to see that two birds had bonded, so they made sure to put notes on their cage that they need to be together when sold. A definite reccomend as of late because of their employees. read more

Took our dog there for grooming. He had already been there before with no problems. The groomer was obviously scared of big dogs when we dropped him off and sure enough we got a call that he tried to bite. So we took him back to a different place we had been using and haven't had any problems. We only tried it because you can book online but I want my dog treated kindly. He's the most gentle dog, our kids could take a steak out of his mouth and he would be like "Oh well will you pet me?" read more

Grooming department definitely goes above & beyond in their duties...they all seem to do what's right for the pet & are very caring & Affectionate with my fur babies...petco is the only place my babies will go read more

I know that set-ups are company policy, but I feel they could be better. I also felt like some of the more frequently used employees aren't knowledgeable of the animals or even scared of them. You should be able to answer basic questions about the animal and its care, or at least have a care sheet to provide with purchase or for someone to read if they are interested. read more

I like their selection (which is how they got 2 stars from me) however, every time I drive by, there are groomers smoking cigarettes while holding dogs (on a leash) right smack in front of the store. This makes the place looking more like a bar. I'm not an anti smoker looney, but it's rude to do that right smack in front of a main entrance while in possession of somebody else's dog. It's also rare to find a checkout clerk at this location. Management needs to recognize these issues and fix them. If they did I would go there a lot more often. read more

My partner and I took our lab into petco and he peed once on the floor I found a dog trainer and cleaned it up. We were walking around a bit longer and the same trainer approaches us and says your dog peed again on the floor does he have a urinary tract infection. He said we walked right by another spot where he peed. I went back to clean it up and our dog was not even over there. Anyways I cleaned up another dogs urine and said no our dog does not have a UTI he must've been excited but the trainer was rude to us after we apologized multiple times. He kept trying to say our dog was having a problem we said if he does and this continues we will take care of it. Same trainer said well you better and to watch your dog better next time. I understand it's a store and we should watch our dog but to be blamed and told to clean something up that was not our dog was just not right. Will not be going there again. This trainer was just being a dick. Really want to give 0/5 stars bad experience. read more
