As a store, this Petco is always stocked, clean and offers everything we could possibly need for our Luna, an Australian Sheppard and Poodle mix, AKA Aussiedoodle. I sincerely, deeply appreciate their removal of shock collars and real rawhide in the store. You won't find it on the shelves here and yes -- it's because they don't stand for it. However, you can find easily digestible "rawhide" and their selection is vast. We've been taking our Luna to Petco grooming since she was a puppy. The manager is awesome! She has been there since day one for us and helped us work through our thoughts for her very first hair cut to make sure we got what we wanted and what would look best for her, breed wise, since we had NO idea. All of the other groomers are also super sweet and helpful. I have never experienced anything other than delightful customer service. They are flexible and understanding when I've had to change appointments and patient when Luna feels nervous. I've always been happy with her haircut/bath results. Out of the approx. 10 times Luna has been groomed, they ONCE forgot to clip her nails, which they happily rectified free of charge and they ONCE accidentally clipped one side of her eyelashes while clipping her face. That was also rectified and they grew back and are even after a couple months. Not a big deal and I LOVE her long eyelashes... so that's saying a lot. The pricing is fair. I would highly recommend giving them a chance if you're looking for a new groomer. read more

I will never go back again. As someone else mentioned, the grooming staff is rude and I asked to talk to a manager and could tell he didn't give a damn about anything coming out of my mouth. Left and went to PetSmart. They called my vet to verify records for me and took care of everything. PetSmart staff was so much more pleasant and friendly. We just received the best service for our dog! Our groomer, Will, did such a fantastic job! He helped calm our dog, Scout before taking her back (she was nervous). She ended up walking back with him happily wagging her tail! While back there, she received the best treatment (nail buff, wash, brush, etc). When Will brought her back to me, she looked and smelled amazing! He even put the cutest bandana on her (tropical leaves - my fave!). We drive past several other pet stores, but always bring her to this location because Will takes such great care of her! This store is also very clean and organized! They have a great selection of food and toys! And the staff is very friendly as well! read more

Make sure that you know exactly what you are signing on for when you take your pets for grooming. The groomer added $23 worth of add-on services (x 2 dogs) which we didn't agree to. The time before they had a special sale going on and we had extra services for the regular cost. She asked my husband if he wanted "the same" and he said no-- and then they discussed the length of the haircut-- she never said there was added cost or asked if he wanted the "spa" items. The guys who work in the store are great and tried to help but there was no manager in house and the manager they called was no help. My bad for not looking at the bill carefully before handing over my credit card. And their bad for not making it right-- they lost a good customer tonight. read more

Don't waste your time like I did. I have taken my two dogs to Petsmart for grooming and decided to try Petco for comparison. It was $10 cheaper at Petco compared to Petsmart. Well, you get what you pay for at Petco!! Service was terrible and the staff was rude. I made grooming appointments online for my two dogs and immediately called the location to ensure they could be accommodated at the same time because they are large dogs and I realize that sometimes kennel space is limited. They assured me they could be accommodated. I confirmed that all they needed from me were their updated immunization records and that was all that was discussed. The location is an hour and 15 minutes away from my home. I showed up on time for my scheduled appointments and had all information that was needed. When they asked if my dogs had any medical issues I informed them that they don't, but they get car sick and we're given medication which makes their eyes look glassy because it has some sedative properties to it, but they are perfectly fine. (it's worth nothing that they have been getting this medication since they were puppies at 20lbs and are now 80lbs and are taking the same dose, so they aren't tranquilized or overly sedated, it just helps with their motion sickness). It was at that time that I was informed they couldn't take the dogs for grooming if they have been given medicine that acts like a sedative. Nowhere in my reservation confirmation was this information stated, nor was it brought up when I called to confirm if anything was needed. They explained the reasoning as to why they don't take the dogs if they are medicated, however, my dogs have always been groomed while on this medicine and have never had a problem. They make you sign a liability waiver when you get your pet groomed so I don't understand why this was an issue. If this information had been stated in my confirmation or at the time that I called then I would have made other arrangements. It was a waste of my time and I'm really not happy about it. I had to drive over an hour to get there and because the grooming appointment was supposed to be 2-3 hours I made plans in that area during the time they were supposed to be groomed. Because they wouldn't take the dogs I wasn't able to do other errands and instead had to drive the hour and fifteen minutes back without accomplishing anything at all. My dogs are my babies and I spend a fortune on them to ensure they are well fed and groomed, have plenty of toys and treats, are up to date on all their immunizations and have any medications they need. I will give every single penny to Petsmart or any other pet supply store before I spend anything at Petco. Very disappointing. Do better Petco!! If this is your corporate policy then you should do better at letting your customers know before they go out of their way. read more

The actual haircut is good I just hate that it takes so long from start to finish. Having a small dog and one who is used to being fairly isolated, she ends up with so much anxiety each time we come. I wish they would start on one pet and continue until that that was done instead of doing multiple pets at a time. read more

Never will be returning to this place. The guy who worked there refused to sell me a fish due to my tank size, even though every other petco and pet place said my tank size was fine. He was unbelievably rude about it and was very mean when he spoke to me. Thankfully a very nice employee went ahead and got me the fish. Other than that one nice guy, this place is a shit hole. Every petco in midlothian price matches, except for this one! And that asshole also gave us shit about price matching! Unbelievably rude. Never returning.
