Horrible experience. I went there on a lunch break to look at adopting a cat. I found one that I liked so I asked if they could hold it until tomorrow morning since I didn't get off u til 11pm. They told me no, but to come first thing in the morning and it would likely still be there. I went the next morning and the kitten was gone. So then I found another kitten, but couldn't pick it up for two hours. I saw a sign on the cat's kennel that said one kitten was on hold. When I questioned Erin (the girl in charge of the adoption) about why she was holding a cat for someone else but couldn't return the favor for me, she exclaimed because the hold was for an employee. I explained to her that I was very serious about adopting a kitten and my showing up twice now should prove that. I asked if I could pay for the cat now to ensure the cat would still be there in two hours, but she wouldn't let me. She said all she could do was steer customers away from buying her. Two hours later I show up with a kennel now ready to get the kitten. As I was walking up to the window where the cats were, in a very smug tone, Erin said she sold the kitten. She went in to tell me that I couldn't adopt the kitten I wanted because it was going to the lady who happen to be standing next to me. Very upset at this point I asked her why would she make me the promise she did if she was going to sell the kitten. She never once apologized. In fact she cut me off mid sentence and looked at the lady who she sold the kitten to and said, "shall we go shopping?" And walked off. Even worse, I had a friend who happened to be shopping there and over heard Erin bad mouthing me to the customer she sold the kitten to. When Erin came back to the front of the store, I asked her to sell me the kitten she had on hold since she sold the kitten I wanted, but she told me no she would not do that. Why? She sold the kitten She knew I wanted. I asked for the store manager, Erin lied and said she was the store manager. So then I asked for her managers contact info. She claims to have made a phone call to her manager and he told her "she could not give me his direct contact number" and to call a generic customer service number that she provided me with. I did call the customer service line and filed my complaint. Did it go to the hands of anyone who would care? I don't know. I haven't heard back from anyone. As far as I'm concerned, Erin should be terminated or at least written up. Not only was she "holding" a cat for someone else and wouldn't return the favor for me, she bad mouthed me to the customer which is highly disrespectful and unprofessional, she also never once apologized to me nor showed any remorse in the way she handled the entire situation. I will not ever be giving this store in particular my business as long as Erin works there. read more
